There is so much fluff out there and in this space, but this podcast is a must listen.

I am really enjoying this podcast. It was just what I was looking for to learn more about digital assets, building profitable websites, and investing in websites. I am a big fan of the bigger pockets podcast in the real estate space and I was hoping to find a similar show regarding website investing. This is one of the best I’ve found along with the web equity show from the guys at Empire Flippers. If you like the podcasts I mentioned above, definitely check this one out.

On this episode, I talk with Mark Daoust from Quietlight Brokerage.

Mark started his first website site-reference.com in 2004 as an SEO play as a resource for website owners and online marketers to share information and publish blog posts. It soon turned into an email play leveraging a second site to build a list of over 200k subs (with almost 1k new subs a day) monetized through ads in the newsletter. He sold it in 2005 through an online broker.

Rank #3: Ryan Kaufman from DigitalAcquisitions.co

Podcast cover
Read more
On this episode I talk with Ryan Kaufman from the boutique website brokerage DigitalAcquisitions.co

Ryan has a couple different divisions at Digital Acquisitions:

Traditional sales side brokerage model where work with owners closely to improve valuations and then list and prepare the marketing material to get the highest offer.

Buy side concierge service where the buyers are larger funds, VCs, sometimes high net worth individuals who are looking for a specific asset to acquire

For their buyer network they have found it easier to work with ecommerce and SaaS due to the nature of content / affiliate sites where the founder can be heavily involved in terms of branding or operations.

On the sell side the objective is to get as many buyers so can be bidding; on the buy side the concierge client is the exclusive client they source deals for as a third party acquisition team where any deals discovered are exclusive to them. If they pass on those they have a secondary network of buyer representation clients.

On this episode I talk with my long time buddy Kevin Koskella from his latest startup useworkhero.com

I met Kevin back in 2013 when I was living in Boulder, CO and finishing my book from the coffee shops there and he interviewed me on his Freedom Lovin Podcast.

We talk about Kevin's new business at the end but 80% of this chat was about cryptocurrencies (check out my post on how to get started buying altcoins) and initial coin offerings (following on from the crypto chat with Frank in episode 16). We recorded this conversation the day after the Segwit2x Bitcoin hard fork was canceled and after I'd been doing a lot of trading!
