Edmund Fitzgerald

Part 2 of 2.SS Edmund Fitzgerald was an American Great Lakes freighter that sank in Lake Superior during a storm on November 10, 1975, with the loss of the entire crew of 29 men. When launched on June 7, 1958, she was the largest ship on North America's Great Lakes, and she remains the largest to have sunk there. She was located in deep water on November 14, 1975 by a U.S. Navy aircraft detecting magnetic anomalies, and found soon afterwards to be in two large pieces. When I stared listening to disaster podcasts I felt in my head wow this is really grim...I had just started listening to podcasts and I really was listening to any disaster podcast I could get my hands on! 

I thought maybe I had stumbled upon something strange with these podcasts and felt like there was something wrong with me that I would listen so intently on people dying. But that really changed for me with this podcast bc as I listened the podcasters gave such wonderfully researched information and also would let us know positive changes that happened bc of these disasters! 

I realized it’s not grim it’s interesting and informative and almost always positive changes came about bc of these disasters! 

The podcasters really are enjoyable to listen to and they do play actual newscasts from those accidents that have them which I find fascinating.  I feel like I’m listening in on a conversation between knowledgeable people who really care about what they’re saying!
