In this week's episode, we're joined by prominent epidemiologist Prof. Sunetra Gupta from Merton College, Oxford who specialises in the evolution of pathogens including parasites, bacteria and viruses and in modelling the spread of pathogens through populations. She is also heavily involved in the development of vaccines to control their spread. She has been an outspoken critic of the British government's approach to tackling the COVID-19 pandemic, and is here to discuss the concept of pandemic disease in general as well as lessons we have learnt from COVID and how we can improve our response to pathogenic outbreaks in future. Welcome to the first episode INSPIRE Podcast!  In this brand new episode, 4 healthcare students (Ellie, Haleemah, Natasha and Sam) take on a new game of “Research Roulette”. We used a random word generator to pick a random word and we had to come up with an interesting research article relating to this word.
