Rank #2: 5 Hacks to Healthy Habits and ending the year strong

Podcast cover
Read more
What a year!

Now that it's getting colder and darker earlier I could feel my energy drop.  I did several things to get my energy back up and wanted to share with you some tried and true ways to protect your energy and prioritize your health.  I know everyone says, "put your mask on first" but do you prioritize it when you have a deadline after procrastinating?  It's hard to make yourself do it in these circumstances and so let's get intentional and do it together.

Commit. Community. Connection

1.) Isolate - Prioritize time alone whether that be a walk outside, running an errand or even a shower!  After two weeks quarantining a meal out and about is going to feel like a vacation for me so fresh air and the power of putting your shoes on is real!  While people need people to get through stuff I want you to prioritize even just 15 minutes alone a day so that you can reflect, breath, pray or be.  For whatever reason just "Be-ing" is underrated compared to "Do-ing" so we need to make some intentional adjustments there!

2.) Generate Movement-  I'm not even saying this so that you lose that quarantine 15, but the mental benefits of movement are huge too!  I want you to pick an amount of time you want to commit to moving and just do it.  Even if it is some squats before you jump into the shower, some squats while waiting for that coffee to reheat for the second time or going for a walk.

3.) Moderate-  Pick something you want to moderate.  Maybe you want to slay the sugar dragon, declutter your house, or manage your carbs.  Pick something and make it specific, measurable and realistic and focus on this one thing.

4.) Regulate- Ok so you said what you want to moderate, now we need to figure out how you want to track that progress.  Do you want to download an app to track your food or movement?  Maybe you will take measurements or get a huge water bottle.

5.)  Create-  Remember this is a time to get back to basics.  Remove so much input and focus on creating. This creating time doesn't need to be for monetization, but it can be for service or even just you.  When is the last time you dropped all the business to dos and just created whatever you wanted? Come on over to the facebook group or find me on instagram and tag me with your creations.  I can't wait to see what you make when you remove all the noise.

Rank #3: How to go from Idea to Execution as a Squirrelpreneur

Podcast cover
Read more
3 steps to go from Idea to Execution as a Squirrelpreneur or Jack of all trades
  1. Idea
  2. Dream
  3. Goals
But... how?

Brain dump all of your ideas and look at the times in your lives that you have had hard stuff and overcame.  I want you to think about yourself and all your life experiences and I want you think about the things that fire you up, tick you off or stir up some kind of emotion.  News flash, these feelings mean it's important and you care.  Caring is the main step in actually sticking with your idea.  This makes it important and helps you to redirect when you get off track instead of quit.

DREAM= Big PictureWhat is the impact you want to create in the world?

If you focus on the results and the solution that you can create for someone then you will have fuel.  Energy is key in finishing anything.  This key in thinking of the big picture for your vision and WHY you are doing this in the first place.  You need to tie that vision to your emotion to honor your hard stuff and use that to fuel you up when you feel your energy deplete.

Let yourself dream and figure out the answer to the question, "What do I want?"  Stop doing all the things that everyone says to do and slow down and zero in on what you actually want to do and why it is important to you and your impact.

Goals-The small stuff

Gain traction in your goals and finally get that idea into action by breaking up that big picture dream into smaller chunks.  I just got the image of my kindergartener trying to read a big word.. wouldn't you think he would give up if I didn't teach him in chunks?  Same thing applies here.. allow yourself to get small wins along the way.  Also, if you are ADHD, distractible or a rebel like me then x3 your timeline, plan time to rest with cycle syncing in mind (check out my episode on that here) and set yourself up for success.

Rank #4: Are you in a rut? 10 ways to get UNSTUCK and reset a negative mindset

Podcast cover

Covid. Time change. Colder weather >>OH MY!

Did the vision of Dorothy going down the yellow brick road come to mind.  "Lions, Tigers, Bears OH MY! haha seriously though as if Covid wasn't already putting fear and worry and stress onto us, we are compiling it now with coldness and darkness here in Ohio.  It's making me feel like days are on a loop and just so in a rut.

Wallow or Gratitude. Which do you choose?

After I lost my mom in 2011, I found that I was in this hole of grief that felt like pushing a door closed with rushing water on the other side.  I would push and push with all of my might so that no water could get through for fear that I would drown.  I later learned that if I cracked the door, felt through the ick and experienced my emotions then it slowed the rate of the water and it allowed me to keep afloat.  Holding this imaginary door closed is exhausting and eventually the water comes in, so why not crack the door.  It's uncomfortable and sad and all the things, but so needed.

First of all, don't get it twisted with this heading title.  I don't think there is anything wrong with wallowing.  In a way I feel like it's warranted from being strong too long or pushing past the days in some ways.  Take a breath, a rest, cry in the shower or finally say "No" to adding more to your plate and then when you are all done stand up in gratitude with these 10 ways to get you back to you.

In todays' episode you'll learn 10 ways to get unstuck and take that next right step.  Negativity is natural and normal.  It's easier to see what's going wrong then what is going right, but when you are ready to get back up I hope these tips help you.  If you need someone to lean on in the process come over to our free community on facebook by clicking here.

10 ways to get UNSTUCK and reset a negative mindset in todays episode here.

Rank #6: // 9 Signs you Self Sabotage your Happiness and Success as a Creative Rebel

Podcast cover
Read more
What are the self sabotaging beliefs and behaviors that you are doing right now? What is Self Sabotage?

Behaviors or thought patterns that are holding you back.  Self sabotaging behaviors prevent you from getting what you want and undermine what your core values and goals.

Our brain keeps us safe

When we are being stretched for growth our brain can't differentiate that from a real threat to our well-being and so it takes these steps towards the unknown as scary and dangerous.  This makes us more likely to step back and self sabotage our growth in favor of the comfortable and known.  It's not your fault!  We are wired this way.  Take some of these steps to push past the fear and uncomfortable feelings and FEEL through them instead of run from them.

Want to learn more about this stress response?  Check out this article here for more information on this.

Some self sabotage behaviors are:
  • Procrastination
  • Perfectionism
  • Problem based thinking instead of solution based thinking (Click here for an episode on this)
  • Over indulgence
  • Comparisonitis
  • Imposter Syndrome
  • Focusing on urgent tasks vs. important tasks
  • Saying "I don't have time" or "I don't have money" or other limiting beliefs that are keeping you small.
  • Using absolutes in your language like "never" or "always"
What can I do if I am self sabotaging?
  • Surround yourself with people who will pour belief in you.
  • Reflect-Make time and space for you to have time alone, with God, to journal or to reflect on what you want, your big picture vision and get in alignment with your goals and core values or intentions.
  • Focus on YOUR journey-Compare yourself to only yourself, unfollow people that triggers you comparing yourself with.
  • Time block-Change how you are thinking about time-blocking and realize that this will give you more traction and beat distraction and feel more control. Check out my episode on this here.
  • Let it go! Don't dwell on past mistakes or failures and forgive yourself and take the next right step (totally a FROZEN reference there ha!)
  • Start Small-Give yourself small wins so you can build confidence and belief in yourself and show yourself you are capable.

A: You can combine all your boards, but make the boards for your personal use private.

Money Mindset Shifts

1.) Hire a mentor-Pay for speed and focus on growing your leadership and personal development.

2.) Get out of your own head and take messy action.  Start moving and start talking to people and get it out of your head.

3.) Change your language.

What if you rephrased it from “I can’t afford it to How can I afford it.”

“It’s not a lack of resources that keeps us stuck, it’s a lack of resourcefulness”-Tony Robbins

Rank #8: // 3 Facebook Group Engagement Growth Hacks + a FREE gift!

1.) SEO/Keywords

Now more than ever Facebook is prioritizing Facebook groups and events.  They have now added a Discover tab that makes groups more searchable so it is very effective for you to take this into consideration and to name your group with some keywords that your ideal avatar would be searching for.

2.) FB Collaborations

I think Facebook collaborations is a great way for people to get your content and other audiences as well as to up level your energy and support other businesses.  If you are a podcast or you could set up your mike hit record and do an interview in your group you could then take part of that interview and put it on your podcast therefore driving people that are in your podcast to your Facebook community.  I think Facebook collaborations also make way for you to niche down while still supplying your audience with more content that is valuable to them.

3.) Weekly FB lives

There are so many great things about utilizing the Facebook live feature among them are the fact that people can see your face so they will grow to know like and trust you and there is the factor that Facebook prioritizes these as well in the feed.  When you do a Facebook live be sure to have a title that is clickable and juicy and has a hook that draws your person in and then prepare as best as you can with an outline so it’s still conversational and at the end definitely give a call to action so that they know what their next step is or what you want them to do you can also ask them to do things as you are going through the content so that it will keep bumping it up and increasing your engagement.

I hope you enjoy these three Facebook engagement growth hacks if you would like to hear more check out our Facebook group Multipassionate Mompreneur for more fb group engagement growth hacks and day 2 of the workshop for help on lead generation and monetizing your fb groups.

Ready to Grow an Audience?  The SECRET Formula to Sales and Profitability with Stefanie Gass

Today we speak with Stefanie Gass from the Mompreneur Mastermind Podcast and the creator of the podcast course that helped this multipassionate “creative ADD” mompreneur mama to launch a podcast in 30 days!  It’s an amazing course and contains everything you need to plan, launch, promote, monetize and so much more.  Check out my affiliate link here if you are interested in podcast pro university (I do get a percentage of these sales).

First, we speak with Stefanie Gass, the #1 podcaster for Christian entrepreneurs, and we started with revisiting this previous episode about niching down to your “one thing” as a multipassionate mompreneur.

What are you created to do?

Ask yourself this question and really take into account the skills you have, the life experiences that give you the authority to help others that haven’t been through the same hard stuff like you, and also your passions.

What if you have many things you want to do?

You can have many passions, but it’s more so doing “ONE THING” at a time.  You can do it all, but you need to do it one thing at a time so that you can really zone on who you can help and attract them authentically.

How do I grow an audience?

To grow an audience you need to focus more on serving authentically and less on monetizing.  You need to focus on your avatar and what they need and how to solve their problems and then you will have the audience to actually sell to and it’ll be what she wants.

The secret to sales and profitability in your business is SERVICE and TRUST.

How to build trust and serve my audience?

Stefanie Gass built her audience in her Facebook group, Mompreneur Mastermind, and decided to use serve also with a podcast.  Her podcast is a way to serve and then use the Facebook group and 1:1 coaching to implement with her avatar.  This was the key to learning from her avatar and get your “LOLA,” as Stef calls her avatar, to tell you what she needs.

Stefanie was able to use podcasting and move people to her Facebook group, Mompreneur Mastermind group she was able to grow her audience organically by 100K.  Then, in a year and a half in she was able to increase her revenue/income 1600% and have 60% of her income coming from passive products and courses.  Now she’s coming up on 2 years of podcasting and she only works Monday to Friday and only works 20-25 hours a week.

If I give them all of my stuff will they still hire me?

Yes!  People will hire you and get your help as a guide to implement the content.

What are the trust tiers?

Trust Tier 1- Serving with large form content like a podcast, YouTube channel or blogger.  This tier is teaching content and leaving it to be consumed, but it’s one-sided.  This is the free stuff!

Trust Tier 2- Serving deeper with Facebook groups.  There is a dialogue that takes place within the facebook group that allows for the person to be heard.  In this stage you find out exactly what she needs and then you create it and she buys it.  This is when your avatar spends $1-500 with you.

Trust Tier 3- Masterminds, Retreats.  This is that deeper connection and typically when someone spends $501 and up with you.

Tired of the crickets?  Ready to accelerate your engagement with a Facebook group? Rank #10: // Tired of yelling? 5 R's of Positive Parenting

Podcast cover
Read more

Tired of yelling?  When you try to do all the things and wear all the hats we can see “Medusa Mama” surface.

 Who is Medusa Mama?

It’s when you ask something of your kids, or anyone really, and then after not feeling heard she yells.  Yes picture snakes from the head and maybe even your head spins, eyes turn into lasers and all the things.  Ha!  Ok.. maybe it’s mostly the yelling and then you feel bad and it’s just a cycle that isn’t pleasant for anyone involved.

 What is positive parenting?

Positive parenting is based on the thought that kids are inherently good and so they want to do the right thing, but may need to be guided that way.  It’s about teaching without breaking their spirit and with understanding the logic behind the undesired behaviors and really looking at the way we parent that enables the kids to still feel loved and powerful.

What are the benefits of Positive Parenting?

Positive Parenting builds self esteem, autonomy, mutual respect and doesn’t result in anyone acting in emotion in the moment and feeling bad later.  I believe it helps you to be thinking about the outcome that you want rather than having dominance or power.  This can help you to stop yelling and joining their chaos, but rather bringing them to peace.

The 5 R’s of Positive Parenting

I heard these from Parenting Solutions on instagram, check out their page here.

1.) Be Respectful- Take away the blame, shame or pain when you are parenting.  Make sure the consequence is fair.

3 core rules of the responsive approach are listed here. Want more on this? Check out this website

Respect yourself

Respect others

Respect your environment (surroundings)

Have young kids? Exchange the word respect for "taking care of" and they will begin to understand.

2.) Be Related- Is the consequence related to the behavior?  This will communicate a logical consequence that

3.) Reasonable in duration- Are you being fair?  Working in extremes can result in a child giving up trying because it’s just over the top.  For instance, they don’t do their chores for one day so they are grounded for a month versus they don’t do their chores one day and lost a related privilege for that day.

4.) Revealed in advance-  Do the kids know what the consequence is beforehand?

5.) Repeat it back to them- Set the expectations out to them, have them repeat it so you know they understand it and the consequence before hand and then follow through on it.  Seems simple right?  This foresight allows managing it to be easier and usually ends up in less backlash when a consequence is released.

If your kids are acting out they may be needing more attention or power.  This search for autonomy or choice in what happens in the world around them or feel seen may be the cause of some acting out.   As work from home moms doing all the things, we may need to take a breath and analyze the reason for the behavior and be a little strategic in making changes in the behavior that is effective.

Do you like more episodes like this?  Do you need to put some strategy around managing things in your daily life that need work outside of your business?  Shoot me a voice DM on instagram or screenshot and share this episode on your stories or facebook.  We can get through this one day at a time, together.
