Rules For a White Kitchen

We three have white kitchens. Each one is very different from the other, yet there are certain guiding principles when deigning & decorating a white kitchen that we agree on ~ well, for the most part anyway! Top tip - remember white is white is not white... Not all whites are really WHITE, so not all whites look great together. Chose hard surfaces first, tile, countertops, then choose paint. Much easier to find a paint to go with those other choices than the other way around. Warm up a white kitchen with wood tones. Too much stark white can read sterile in a bad way. Sterile stuff in kicthen is nice, but not sterile in feel. Resist the urge to decorate above the cabinets. If at all possible have cabinets or crown moulding go all the way to the ceiling. Add texture & interest with a planked wall or ceiling like Kelly has done. White is a classic and will always be in style for kitchen design. Have a look at our white kitchens... Take a video tour of Kelly's HERE. Visit Yvonne's kitchen HERE. And Anita's HERE. All white - all different - get ideas from each one for your own. Subscribe so you never miss an episode. Habits To Improve Your Decor - Life

We all can use a little bit of sage advice when it comes to improving our lives... and our decor! And we are learning how to best live out these areas of our lives too! So today we have some great tips and tricks for you and for each other! So let's lean in and listen up! I'm channeling your mother and saying... MAKE YOUR BED! A task well done first thing in the morning sets you up for a day of success. You will love this book by Admiral William McCraven, MAKE YOUR BED- Little things that can change your life and maybe the world. See it HERE See Yvonne's post HERE Open your shades and curtains in the am too! Eat breakfast! We do sound like your mother!!!!! Drink warmish water with lemon in the morning too.  As a matter of fact, drink water all day! Use a smaller plate so you won't overeat When things come out of the dryer fold/hang them right away. And put them away!!!!! Nothing haunts me like baskets full of folded laundry on my bedroom floor! Do one load of laundry a day to make your life so much easier! Keep going and do something all the way through. If you only partially do a job you have a bigger mess! Think of different ways to store or decorate things. Look at what you have in it's "best purpose" way! Rearrange your furniture for a fresh new look. Buy an investment decor piece once a year.
