As a lad in the 1960’s and 70’s I’d listen to my Grandfather reading the Phantom strip to me and it felt like he and I were on the adventures as well. Life catches up with you and things fade a bit. Having children now that I can share the Phantom stories with has brought him back into my life. We listen to this podcast together and of course read the old strips and comics together thanks for a really brilliant show !

A huge honour to chat with Graham Nolan who is a modern day legend in the comics field with credits at both DC and Marvel and is mostly known for his Batman work including the co-creation of Bane, the villain in the world of Batman.

As you will find out in the following podcast, there is much more to Graham Nolan that his Batman work including a legacy of the Phantom phandom passed on by his mother at a young age.

Graham's Phantom work includes the Sunday newspaper strip adventures, writing Phantom stories for the newspaper strip and Egmont, covers for Moonstone, Hermes & Fantomen and of course the Frew Gallery Trading Series 1 and 2.

We also touch upon two great subjects regarding his retirement from the Sunday newspaper stories and two panels that caused some angst among certain phans.

You will enjoy gaining an insight into this modern day comics legend!

Moonstone has a very important part to play in Phantom history with the small publisher printing the most Phantom books from USA. One of the men responsible for this rich history with our hero is Mike Bullock. He wrote 50 Phantom stories through out this time and as you will discover listening to the podcast, he had many more Phantom stories already penned and ready until they lost the license.

We talk to Mike about that ill fated take over from Dynamite Entertainment and the conversation he had with senior editor Joe Gentile when they received the news.

Other discussions we had was about the amazing artists he worked with, the bad guys he introduced and how they were all pitted against the Phantom. The story behind the "Invisible Children" saga and much much more.

There is no video for this podcast but do not let that stop you listening to one of the most insightful podcasts you will listen to for a long time.
