The Power of No

Do you struggle to say no? Saying no isn’t something that we are accustomed to do naturally, but everytime you say yes to something, you are saying no to something else.  Everytime I say yes to something or someone, I’m saying no to my family or to my “me time.” Even though it may feel uncomfortable to say no, the happiness you will feel is so much better. Saying no makes room for yes in our lives. It helps us get what we need to accomplish and not what we want to accomplish. In today’s episode, I will be talking about the power of no and why it’s so important to really think before we immediately say yes. If you struggle with saying no or you feel like you are always the “yes person,” this episode is for you!  In this episode, you will learn:  The importance of saying no in your life  What saying yes to something all the time will mean in your life  How to make room for all the “yeses” in your life by saying no  A new strategy to try anytime someone asks you to do something How to remove the apologies that might follow your “no”  Links Mentioned Say No Checklist    Download my 10 Step Guide to Selling Your Teaching Resources HERE! Quiet the Noise to Build the Business of Your Dreams with Jasmine Star

I have always dreamed I'd be able to speak to the amazing and incredibly smart Jasmine Star and she did not disappoint. Jasmine has changed my outlook on business and her "tell it like it is" perspective is beyond refreshing. She inspires me daily and I know you'll feel the same. Jasmine Star is a photographer and business strategist from Newport Beach, California. She dropped out of law school and became an internationally recognized entrepreneur, later to become the founder of Social Curator, a social media marketing membership for business owners.  Harnessing her chutzpah and hustle, Jasmine empowers entrepreneurs to build a brand, market it on social media, and create a life they love.  Some days you'll find her featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, and INC magazine, most days you'll find her in sweatpants scrolling Instagram, but her favorite days are spent with her dog and her high-school sweetheart, eating tacos. In today's episode, we are talking all about imposter syndrome. Do you ever feel like "Who am I to teach anyone?" or "Who am I to create this resource?" Listen...it happens to the best of us and is something we may not ever truly get over. Jasmine shares how she deals with imposter syndrome and pushes through the fear so she can continue to build the business of her dreams. In this episode you will learn: What imposter syndrome is and how to reframe the doubt imposter syndrome may cause How perfection is procrastination in disguise and how to push through the doubt of putting yourself out there That you may not ever really be over your fear and how fear can fuel your purpose instead of hiding from it That negativity will inevitably come up in your business, but how you react to it is what matters Connect with Jasmine: Website:  www.jasminestar.com Social Curator:  www.socialcurator.com Instagram:  www.instagram.com/jasminestar Facebook:  www.facebook.com/jasminestar Twitter:  www.twitter.com/jasminestar YouTube: www.youtube.com/officialjasminestar DOWNLOAD MY 10 STEP GUIDE TO SELLING YOUR TEACHING RESOURCES HERE! The Importance of Personal Development with Stephanie DeLussey

I had the opportunity to interview Stephanie DeLussey and I have to say, this is one of my favorite interviews. Stephanie gets vulnerable about mental health and how she has not only dealt with anxiety in her life, but also how she works at it daily to make sure she is showing up in the world as her best self.  In this interview, we talk about the importance of personal development and how it plays such an important role in your life, but before we go on, let me tell you a little bit more about Stephanie. Stephanie is a dual-certified special education teacher, currently residing in the Atlanta, GA area. She started her TpT “side-business” in 2011 and worked Full Time as a special ed teacher up until being diagnosed with severe anxiety in January 2017. Currently, Stephanie creates high-quality, engaging adapted resources for teachers and students with special needs, provides professional development for teachers at colleges and conferences, and mentors teachers online through her website and social media outlets. She is also a huge mental health advocate, sharing her experiences and struggles to let others know that you can survive the dark seasons and thrive in life with a mental illness. I can't wait for you to hear this one, Go-Getters, and I hope you take something from this episode. In this episode you will learn: About Stephanie's journey as a teacher and an entrepreneur How Stephanie has dealt with anxiety in her life How Stephanie has dealt with "mean girls" in school and online and how she worked through those times About when Stephanie decided to ask for help when dealing with her anxiety Links and Resources Mentioned in this Episode: Kaysemorris.com/map Kayemorris.com/waitlist Chameleon Sparks of Phoenix Pillow Thoughts One Pillow Thoughts Three Connect with Stephanie: https://www.mrsdscorner.com/ @mrsdscorner DOWNLOAD MY 10 STEP GUIDE TO SELLING YOUR TEACHING RESOURCES HERE! From Depression to Determination

Welcome to The CEO Teacher® Podcast!  Today’s podcast is super vulnerable, but it is an important piece to my puzzle and it would be wrong of me to leave it out. You see, this is a place I don’t often like to visit, but I know that someone needs to hear this. It wasn’t always like this. I fell into the darkest moments of my life after my second pregnancy. I was a child raising children. I was lost and holding on for dear life. I quit eating, sleeping and went through life in a boring routine. Teaching was the light in my day that took my mind off of my depression. I found joy in a new lesson, a new book, and the time spent connecting with my students. Teaching was my escape. Then, I discovered something huge. Something that would change it all for me. I found a website called Teachers Pay Teachers. Join me today as I turn back time and show you how I moved from depression to determination. In this episode you will learn: About my journey of becoming a mom. My struggle with postpartum depression. How I found myself, got my life in order and went after my dream. DOWNLOAD MY 10 STEP GUIDE TO SELLING YOUR TEACHING RESOURCES HERE! We're bringing blogging back, YUP!

If you think blogging is dead then think again!  The way I used to think about blogging has significantly changed over the course of the last year. It was definitely a mind shift change that I had to embrace. I'll be honest, as teachers we do not know as much about marketing as we may think. It isn't something we do! We educate, we don't specialize in marketing or how to market through websites. However, blogging is a huge part of a marketing strategy and if you want your business to go as far as it could, you need to understand that blogging is here to stay and is essential to your business. In this episode, I'm talking all about blogging and how you need to start this marketing strategy today. How to Set Goals

I have come to the realization in my journey as an entrepreneur that if you want to see results, you have to set goals. I knew if I wanted to see massive results in my business that I had to be intentional with my execution of each and every step working towards that goal. This, unfortunately, is where a lot of people go wrong. They set the goals, but do not take action towards them. Without a plan, without taking measurable steps, it's very hard to hold ourselves accountable because we have nothing in place to see how far we've come. Does this sound familiar?  Does this sound like something you struggle with? If so, this episode is for you. Get clear with your dreams, get certain about your goals and take intentional action so you can live the life you desire. In this episode you will learn: The importance of setting small goals to achieve your dreams How I use S.M.A.R.T. goals to set realistic and measurable goals How setting realistic goals, from thought to creation, is important for success The tools I have used to help accomplish my goals How using a paper planner has helped me stay focused and on track when mapping out my goals Links and resources mentioned in this episode: Mind Mapping Trello S.M.A.R.T.
