She was stuying musical theatre at Uni. And then suddenly her life changed. Ione started having seizures and tics. Ione candidly shares her experiences as she wants to raise awareness for those who also suffer and also to help the rest of society understand how they can best help and support those who have to live with this condition on a daily basis.  Ione Upfold   BIO   I started having seizures and tics in November/December of 2021. It took over my whole life and ended up needing me to take time away from my studies to work on my health. I was studying musical theatre and had to stop. I have since been working, and coming to terms with my conditions. I have been struggling through Dr's appointments to get diagnosis. I have been working to learn about these conditions and how to help myself.    INTRO   Karolina Christopher is  a trauma-informed integrative psychotherapist. She offers holistic depth-therapy online, using conversation-based work, somatic and creative therapies. CONTENT  Earlier relational trauma is a kind of an invisible trauma very often because it's something that, first of all, it's something people generally haven't heard about it. And if we've experienced it, we generally don't know about it. And it's really about what happens in our early childhood years where our emotional needs weren't met  So everything might, might have been, you know, taken care of, you know, you had a nice house to live in, you had, there was food on the table, you had clean clothes and birthday presents and, you know, even holidays. So it looked like everything was fine, but there could be this, this lack of emotional warmth in a sense that the child needs.  This can have a huge impact in adulthood.   BIO   " I grew up near lakes and forests in Scandinavia. I then lived in a few different countries before coming to London over 20 years ago.     I completed my degree in Psychology and went on to qualify as a teacher. During my years in education, I developed an interest in children’s emotional health. I then decided to train in psychotherapy, combining my integrative training with somatic (body based) and creative methods.    I help people heal and thrive after experiencing emotional loss or neglect in childhood. This can be a hidden factor in mental health – something that may show up later in life as anxiety or low mood. I developed my own trauma-informed model called the Hexagon system, which is a holistic treatment for all aspects of early relational trauma.    I’ve had six years of personal therapy myself, which was a truly transformational experience. And if we've experienced it, we generally don't know about it. And it's really about what happens in our early childhood years where our emotional needs weren't met So everything might, might have been, you know, taken care of, you know, you had a nice house to live in, you had, there was food on the table, you had clean clothes and birthday presents and, you know, even holidays. So it looked like everything was fine, but there could be this, this lack of emotional warmth in a sense that the child needs. This can have a huge impact in adulthood. BIO " I grew up near lakes and forests in Scandinavia. I then lived in a few different countries before coming to London over 20 years ago.   I completed my degree in Psychology and went on to qualify as a teacher. During my years in education, I developed an interest in children’s emotional health. I then decided to train in psychotherapy, combining my integrative training with somatic (body based) and creative methods.  I help people heal and thrive after experiencing emotional loss or neglect in childhood. This can be a hidden factor in mental health – something that may show up later in life as anxiety or low mood. I developed my own trauma-informed model called the Hexagon system, which is a holistic treatment for all aspects of early relational trauma.  I’ve had six years of personal therapy myself, which was a truly transformational experience. I’m on a mission to de-mystify therapy and pave the way for others to go on their own life-affirming healing journey.   I have a special interest in giftedness, high sensitivity (HSP), and healing from narcissistic parenting/relationships.   INTRO  Mark Urry – Owner of Emotional Solutions  Mark lives with his wife and three children in Midsomer Norton, near Bath.  Having worked in multiple industries ranging from the Royal Navy to vacuum cleaner sales he now employs all his life experience and lives his passion of empowering individuals and organisations via his business Emotional Solutions. INTRO   Adrian Huxley is a counsellor and psychotherapist living in beautiful West Somerset. He is also the owner of West Somerset Counselling which he formed some eight years ago CONTENT In this episode, Adrian shares his story, and how his life changed at the age of 15 when his mother took her own life. As a result, he blamed himself. He married at 18, but when their children left home his wife became aggressive toward him. He finally left and moved to West Somerset, where he met his second wife, who sadly died in 2020. He goes on to tell how he trained as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and what it's like to be there for others....... This is a story that many will identify with. BIO After a life where I had known dark and unhappy times, I arrived in West Somerset 14 years ago. I met my second wife soon after arriving and we settled down together and had 12 happy years of marriage. I sadly lost her in 2020 but I was lucky to have the support of special friends and family. INTRO Nisanka Wickramarachchi helps parents who co-parent with narcissistic partners or exes to support their children consistently whilst preserving their sanity.    WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT Nisanka starts by telling us her story of growing up in Sri Lanka in a family where despite her parents providing a roof over her head, food, and all the practical things, she lacked love and support. Continually told that she was ungrateful when she tried to speak up. She found it hard to understand that others outside of her immediate family were treated more kindly than she was. This set up the ‘familiar’ pattern of believing that emotional abuse and narcissistic behaviour were normal. She found the courage to leave her partner with her daughter and a new life helping parents to co-parent with narcissistic partners. BIO Back in 2017, I had two choices to make. I either stay alive and see my daughter grow up, or I choose to act on the suicidal thoughts. Many days were spent in a haze, unable to make that choice, until one day, I found myself hugging my daughter ‘goodbye’. Something in me screamed at me to go get help, which is what I did. It was during that journey that I realised how much narcissistic abuse I had endured in my life.  I was born into a narcissistic family system. My culture glorified narcissistic behaviours. I kept attracting narcissistic people into my life in close dynamics such as friends, bosses, and romantic partners.  At one point, I felt like the damage was unfathomable. However, over time, with consistent actions to heal, my grief, disappointment, trauma, and negative core beliefs turned into creativity, empathy, courage and positive beliefs paving the way to a vibrant life.  Nisanka is a Life Coach and a Holistic Practitioner. She is also trained with the Counselling Academy to work with Narcissism. She is an advanced EFT and Matrix Reimprinting Practitioner. # 140 - Living in a Narcissistic Family System  - With Nisanka Wickramarachchi

Dennie Smith describes herself as a passionate, determined, and crazy lady.  She is currently running 2 businesses, a hair salon, and a geek networking app. WHAT WE TALK ABOUT  I met Dennie on Linkedin, and soon discovered what a vibrant woman she is. She shies away from nothing, and if a project doesn’t seem to be working, she picks herself up, dusts herself off, and moves on. Online dating is a minefield, and large dating sites aren’t as rigorous as Dennie in verifying applicants. So she decided to open her own. But with a difference, instead of focusing on ‘dating’ it’s a platform where people can connect related to their hobbies, or special interests or passions. So, she created ‘ Geek Meet ‘ BIO At age 57 she took a huge gamble and bought a run-down hair salon.  It was doing very well until covid hit. Now is spending lots of time and money to get it back up to pre covid times. At the same time, she opened a children’s boutique next to the salon, which sadly didn’t do well so is closing it and running it online only. Oopsie Daisies. Interior design is her passion, she has attended many courses over the years and she launched an interior design business Redmonds interiors just before covid.  She had one client when lockdown arrived. . She is not pursuing that as is now concentrating on the salon, Geek Meet club, and writing her autobiography. Ever creative and tenacious, Dennie created an online dating site to find her daughter a gent.  Alas, she is still single and the traditional dating club is now being run by her friend and dating expert Sarah Louise Ryan. Although Dennie still has a role in the company. That didn’t deter her and one year ago she created Geek Meet, online dating for yes geeks!  Still struggling with this she decided to re-brand/relaunch. During the course of her travels to dozens of countries, hypnosis has helped her fix the relationship with her mom, figure out why she used to choose toxic relationships and transform her money mindset. Jennifer thus became certified in hypnosis herself and has settled in South Africa with her dream partner that she manifested. #54 - What is the difference between Self-love and Selfish  - with Wendy Capewell

In 1988, Sevda left home after a painful childhood, and within six months was experiencing what she was told at the time was a mental health condition.  Which was moderate, until she was 26 (1998) which then until she was 34 (2006),  basically became very serious, took over every aspect of my life. At points, I had a drug addiction running alongside that. The only way I can explain how I felt:  1. I felt I had lost my soul,  2. I had no idea why I was on this planet,  3. I had no idea what my soul calling was.  I took a massive overdose in 2006, of 800 Chlorpromazine (a major tranquilizer) and when I woke up from the eight-week coma, I thought I had died, and then I was in the hospital for a few weeks, and out of the blue, I became mentally well, from out of nowhere seemingly.  I decided to commit to my life, a lifetime of continual, constant spiritual growth.  Since that day, I haven't taken any medication, and have been mentally well.  I know that, until my overdose and coma, I was traveling through a "Dark Night of the Soul", and after this, I entered a spiritual awakening, and I'm a very intuitive woman, I don't have all the answers, but I have certainly walked the walk, and can help you through the process.  You may not even know that you are experiencing the Dark Night of the Soul, or a spiritual awakening. It may look like:  1. Your life has not been easy,  2. You're powerful,  3. Intelligent,  4. Get bored easy,  5. Not interested in small talk,  6. You don't know why you're here,  7. You may not really know who you are,  8 You may not know you're soul's purpose.
