Jesus promises to send “another helper” after His death, burial, and resurrection who would not only dwell with His people like He did while on earth, but would also dwell in them forever. This helper (the Holy Spirit) reminds believers of Jesus’ teachings and empowers them to obey.

Living in Exile and longing for the New Jerusalem, we sing and we pray for our Lord and Christ to put all things right and usher in His promised and consummated Kingdom.

Christians live prayerful lives. Our aim is not to be noticed and acclaimed by others, but to grow in relational reliance upon our loving heavenly Father, who cares for His children, answers our prayers, and ultimately rewards us with eternal life.

Jesus commands His followers to make disciples of all the nations. We must, therefore, repent of any “mission omission” and resolve to live our lives on mission for Christ.

Christians have been chosen out of the world to bear witness about Jesus to a world in opposition to Him. Christians should, therefore, not be surprised in the face opposition and must be willing to endure being disliked, hated, and even persecuted for the cause of Christ.

Jesus prays for God the Father to glorify Him, so that He may glorify the Father now and for all eternity as He fulfills the pretemporal plan to save the elect through His work on the cross.

Man's primary purpose is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. As such, Christians are called to fight for joy/happiness in everything we do.

John wrote this gospel so we might believe that Jesus is the long-awaited Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing, we might have life in His name.
