EP 5 - A chat with Oli Sansom
Oli Sansom joined us in the studio today. Oli is a wedding and portrait photographer based in Melbourne Australia and has photographed weddings in Italy, Germany, USA, New Zealand, and Australia. He won Australia's Top Emerging Photographer by Capture Magazine in 2014 and Rangefinder Magazine has named him one of the worlds top 30 rising stars of wedding photography. We chat about being flown all over the world to speak at photography conventions, working at home vs paying rent for a studio and the importance of making friends in the industry. This is Oli's blurb from his website: "I started as an illustrator, then moved to advertising and creative direction, before finding photography, and now apply the same obsessive interest in art, innovation, and detail to something I (or probably anyone else) perhaps never thought I would: weddings. I’ve found it a wonderful space to make art and create a compelling narrative through image, that means something to real people and only increases in value as time passes. Since i’ve started, I’ve been invited to shoot weddings and talk about photography from Australia, to New Zealand, New York, Italy, Germany, and more. What's your story?"

EP 1: From beginner to paid photography work, how we acquired our first paid photography jobs.
Welcome to the podcast! Im Daniel, founder of the djb photography school and in this episode I introduce my podcast partner-in-crime Stuart Cox. Stuart is a small business branding expert, website designer and award winning amatuer photographer. We chat about exactly how we got our first paid photography jobs. For myself, a few years ago I quit my corporate IT job to pursue photography full time. I'm now photographing 20-30 weddings a year and running the djb photography school. Stuart has always owned a business, but discusses his experiences with starting out in photography. We'll both be talking about our first cameras, why we bought what we did and what we own now. I hope you enjoy our little chat!
