This Easter, we remember Mary Magdalene’s devotion to Jesus. She was the last at the Cross, and the first at the tomb – and as a result, the first to witness the resurrected Christ, the first to see and to hear Him, and the one chosen to announce the good news to His apostles.

Sin is mankind substituting himself for God. Salvation is God substituting Himself for us.  Like Barabbas, we too deserve the death sentence, without any hope of self-salvation.  And like Barabbas, we too can be set free because Jesus has taken our place on the Cross.

Despite the Jewish leaders’ claim to the contrary, Pilate found no guilt in Jesus.  Yet, he still allowed Him to be crucified to appease them.  Pilate’s dilemma is every man’s dilemma after an encounter with Jesus - would we follow the crowd, or would we choose to submit and declare Him Lord?

In this message, Pastor Pete compares and contrasts two of Jesus’ disciples – Peter and Judas. They were both followers of Jesus, but Judas’ life ended in despair, while Peter became one of the founding fathers of the Christian Church.  What can we learn from them, so our life does not end like Judas’?

Are you tired of facing constant battles, both outwith and within? Pastor Jude’s word taken from the book of Zechariah encourages us to keep building with hope, and not become weary. Let us look to the character of Jesus and trust in Him who restores us and keeps His covenant with us. He will return in glory, and His reign will extend over all the earth.

Pastor Pete’s message is a reminder that Jesus is the One building His Church.  He doesn’t do so by using our strength, talent, or ability.  He does so by pouring His Spirit and anointing us so we can build with His power.

Today, Pastor Pete reminds us that Satan spends day and night accusing us in order to distract and discourage us.  However, we have a powerful advocate in Jesus.  His sacrifice at the Cross has removed the judgement and paid for the punishment that should have been meted out to us. Instead, we are now free from condemnation and free to pursue God’s plans.
