The coaching carousel is in full spin and divisional playoff round preview

Happy New Year! A LOT has happened since our last episode, but Liz Loza and Matt Harmon are back to talk all things football in the latest fantasy podcast.First up, the coaching carousel is in full effect, as one of the biggest pieces was knocked off the board. Jason Garrett is gone from Dallas, replaced by veteran coach Mike McCarthy, which feels a little bit like going from vanilla ice cream to ... artisanal vanilla ice cream. Liz and Matt explain why the move is probably good news for Dak and Zeke. (02:16)Ron Rivera is now the new head coach of Washington, while the Giants went with former Patriots WR coach Joe Judge as their new HC (and Garrett might apparently not be done with the NFC East). (11:15)Former Baylor coach Matt Rhule is the new HC for the Carolina Panthers. The Browns, however, are still exploring candidates like Josh McDaniels, Jim Schwartz and Eric Bieniemy. (14:15)Liz and Matt discuss all these hirings and their impact on the fantasy landscape. The Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs was a doozy: Kirk Cousins and the Vikings went to New Orleans and took out the Saints. (34:28) Derrick Henry barreled his way through Foxborough en route to a Titans upset, what's next for Tom Brady? (38:05) The Seahawks defeated an Eagles team that lost Carson Wentz to an injury just minutes into the game. (46:45) And Deshaun Watson led the Texans to a win over Buffalo. (51:56) Liz and Matt recap those matchups and then preview this weekend’s divisional round. Week 15 Recap: Fringe playoff heroes and recap of a crazy semifinal week

What do Kenyan Drake, Breshad Perriman, Kenny Stills, Greg Ward, A.J. Brown, and Jamison Crowder all have in common? They probably sent some fantasy managers to the championship in Week 16.Liz Loza and Matt Harmon recap those performances and much more in the latest fantasy football podcast. (02:51)[Yahoo Sportsbook powered by BetMGM: Deposit $10, Get $100 in Free Bets. NJ only. 21+. Terms apply]It was a wild Week 15, with plenty of touchdowns to go around, making for some undoubtedly high-scoring fantasy semifinal matchups. Also, pure mayhem went down in the Bay area after the Oakland Raiders lost their final home game (14:27), and the San Francisco 49ers got shocked at home by the sorry Atlanta Falcons. (21:34)Sadly, not only did Dalvin Cook go down in Week 15 with a shoulder injury, but he was immediately ruled out for the rest of the game, which hints at the potential severity of the ailment. Does Mike Boone enter league-winner status? (19:20)Elsewhere in the NFL, the Kenny Stills, of all people, put the Houston Texans in the driver's seat for the AFC South with 2 TDs against the Tennessee Titans. (24:00)Somehow, the Bears wide receivers — specifically Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller — are making things work even though Mitchell Trubisky is ... not amazing. (26:53).At long last, Tyler Lockett returned to fantasy glory — but the Seahawks cannot play a normal game to save their lives (which might be good or bad, depending on what side of the fantasy fence you’re on). (29:34)Saquon Barkley delivered two touchdowns (although, since they were his first since Week 7, it might have been too little, too late for fantasy managers). Oh, and Eli Manning is back to .500! (33:08)Finally, Liz & Matt wrap up the show lamenting the complete no-show from the Los Angeles Rams and offensive explosion from the Dallas Cowboys. Week 14 Recap: How the NFL playoff race is affecting your fantasy playoffs

Sadly, we regret to inform you that the Patriots' dynasty is over. Kaput. Liz Loza and Matt Harmon discuss the state of the Patriots dynasty and much more in the latest fantasy podcast.Speaking of contenders, they are few and far between in the NFL while there are a plethora of eliminated (or close to eliminated) teams. Yet, some of those teams are still putting up a fight. Liz and Matt talk about which teams are frisky (like the Broncos, Falcons, and Colts) and which teams are packing it in (like the Browns, Panthers, and Jaguars). (02:39)The New England Patriots lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14, 23-16. The Texans beat them, 28-22, in Week 13. And we all know what the Ravens did to them a couple weeks ago. That’s three AFC contenders the Pats lost to. So ... what do we make of this? (23:29)Elsewhere in the NFL, the aforementioned Texans (after that impressive win over the Pats) were embarrassed in Week 15, 38-24, by Drew Lock and the Broncos. Now, Houston is in a virtual tie at the top of the AFC South with the Titans, who have been BALLIN. How will this battle play out in the coming weeks? (28:21)Unfortunately for fantasy managers, Week 14 was replete with injuries. Mike Evans, Jared Cook, DeVante Parker, and Derrius Guice all went down, among others. Liz and Matt discuss the ramifications of those losses. Week 6 Wrap-Up: As Le'Veon Bell looms, is James Conner destined to disappear?

Many people predicted what Brock Osweiler would do against the Bears. Those three interceptions and two lost fumbles were...oh wait. No, no, Osweiler decided to cover for an injured Tannehill and proceed to light up one of the best defenses in the NFL. Then Dak Prescott and the Cowboys followed Osweiler's lead by ripping the Jaguars defense to the tune of 40 points. That's Week 6 for you. Some things weren't shocking though, like Todd Gurley going nuts in Denver and James Conner having a day when the Steelers needed it most. Yet, when the dust settles, was that performance by James Conner...his last big show (*insert villainous Le'Veon Bell laugh*)?Liz Loza, Scott Pianowski and Matt Harmon break down those Week 6 happenings and more in this week’s podcast episode (bidding for Gurley in an auction draft, anyone?). They also discuss the Browns getting steamrolled against the Chargers (Baker Mayfield finally Browned), as well as Julio Jones and his seemingly impenetrable touchdown-preventing force field (even when Calvin Ridley and Mohamed Sanu left the game!!!).Continuing with that same theme of head-scratching performances, our experts then try to help you understand some of the most confusing occurrences that happened in your fantasy matchups this week, along with a couple of pickup options for Week 7.Please remember to rate, review and subscribe on your podcast provider of choice and send us your questions for future episodes on Twitter @YahooFantasy.Follow Liz @LizLoza_FFFollow Scott @scott_pianowskiFollow Matt @MattHarmon_BYB See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information. Week 16 Preview: Are you ready to win a fantasy championship?

It is finally here. 15-and-a-half long weeks have led us to this point. It's nearly time for the 2018 fantasy football championship round!Did you make it to the title game?If so, you're probably dealing with a lot right now. Injuries, tough matchups, and regressing players have all come to the forefront of the fantasy playoffs. James Conner might not play again, and now Todd Gurley and DeAndre Hopkins — practically league-winning assets — are both dealing with injuries.Drew Brees and Michael Thomas have been anything but high-scoring the last couple of weeks, as the offense has practically shifted into a gritty, clock-killing unit buoyed by an improving defense. That said, the Saints are returning home, where fantasy fireworks have been the norm.Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs stars will travel to Seattle, where it's always tough to play — are you downgrading any of them?Liz and Dalton break down those and the other big Week 16 happenings in this latest podcast episode. Week 14 Wrap-Up: Missing the Saints and saying 'sorry' to Amari

Week 14 is all but done, and many fantasy players saw their hopes for a run in the playoffs come to an end. Odds are they faced Derrick Henry, but the Titans runner wasn't the only player to shock the masses. In a rather surprising turn of events, the Saints' offense has utterly sputtered two weeks in a row. In fact, Drew Brees has only thrown two touchdowns in his last two games compared to eight in Weeks 11 and 12 combined.Week 14 offered up as juicy a matchup as it gets (@ Tampa Bay), but Brees finished with 14.94 fantasy points; less than owners expected. Brees and the Saints get Carolina and Pittsburgh in the final two weeks of the fantasy playoffs. On the flipside, Amari Cooper had been, as a whole, underwhelming for much of the season. Then he joined the Cowboys, and then he erupted for 10 catches, 217 yards and three touchdowns in Week 14.Liz Loza, Scott Pianowski, and Matt Harmon discuss these unexpected performances and more on today’s fantasy wrap podcast. Our experts also asked you about the most tilting fantasy performances you experienced in Week 14. You can imagine how many people were affected by another eruption, courtesy of George Kittle (seven catches, 210 yards, one TD).Liz, Scott, and Matt then wrap up with a most stunning statistic that is par for the Week 14 course. A whopping 14 players scored touchdowns — those players were also owned in less than 1 percent of Yahoo leagues. Among them is James Develin, because of course. Our experts run down that list and see if there's anyone with any fantasy intrigue going forward. Please remember to rate, review and subscribe on your podcast provider of choice and send us your questions for future episodes on Twitter @YahooFantasy.Follow Liz @LizLoza_FFFollow Scott @scott_pianowskiFollow Matt @MattHarmon_BYB See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information. Sanu is now on the undefeated Patriots, who lost WR Josh Gordon to the IR (0:50), and Sanders is on the undefeated 49ers (7:30). Liz and Matt discuss those trades and how they impact the fantasy landscape.Gordon wasn't the only big name fantasy player to hit the injured reserve. The Detroit Lions placed RB Kerryon Johnson on the IR and our experts diagnose whether Ty Johnson, the most added player in Yahoo leagues, is the answer (13:00).[Play in Yahoo’s NFL $250K Baller. $10 entry fee and $25K to first place]Earlier in the week, Yahoo Fantasy’s very own James Koh tweeted out a graphic of where the top players in ADP currently stand through seven weeks of the season and ... well ... it’s not pretty. Week 4 Wrap-Up: Money-Making Mitch and the revenge of the QB

Much was made of the apparent demise of Tom Brady and Andrew Luck and Mitchell Trubisky (was he ever alive?), but Week 4 proved that perhaps those assumptions were ill-advised. Breakout WR candidates and rookie RBs to watch out for

June is here, and we’re edging closer and closer to fantasy football draft season. Gamers and industry experts alike are already mocking, including our very own Liz Loza and Matt Harmon. Week 12: Wrap-Up: Melvin Gordon's injury puts fantasy playoff dreams in doubt

The Sunday action for Week 12 is in the can! This is it. Just one regular season week left for most fantasy leagues before the playoffs — are you ready? While some teams are in excellent position to dominate, others aren't. And those who have been led by Melvin Gordon now find themselves in a nightmarish situation. The Chargers were in the midst of a soon-to-be blowout victory over the Cardinals when Gordon — who almost didn't even start due to lingering ailments — went down. Initial reports suggested an MCL injury suffered by the star runner, but fantasy owners will have to wait until full confirmation to be sure. Our Yahoo fantasy experts discuss that and more on today’s fantasy wrap podcast. One of those subjects include the return of the Patriots offense, as Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski (at last!), Sony Michel, and Julian Edelman all had great fantasy days. Perhaps the bye week helped fix issues in the Evil Empire? Our experts then asked you which quarterback — with both Jared Goff and Patrick Mahomes on bye and Drew Brees enjoying a long layoff — had the most surprising fantasy performance on Sunday (all hail Baker Mayfield!)Liz, Scott, and Matt then wrap up with a few pickup options for Week 13.Please remember to rate, review and subscribe on your podcast provider of choice and send us your questions for future episodes on Twitter @YahooFantasy.Follow Liz @LizLoza_FFFollow Scott @scott_pianowskiFollow Matt @MattHarmon_BYB See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
