But you'll hear in the conversation how to really think about it, and what progressive plan you could put in place to do the thing you really love, and still sustain yourself through the transition. Today on the More Cheese Less Whiskers podcast I've got something I'd love for you to hear. Two or three years ago, I was running full-page ads in Success Magazine telling about 'The Amazing Nine-Word Email That Revives Read Leads'. I was experimenting with a new approach to engaging with people who would respond to the ad, and it was really interesting because people who responded would call the ad, an article. I've posted the article in the show notes so you can see what I was doing, but the amazing thing was, we ran that ad for several months and averaged a 68% opt in on the landing page. This was cold traffic from a magazine ad, and what was even more amazing was that we would get over 40% engagement once people responded and left their name and email address. I used a very simple sequence to engage with people who requested a copy of the Email Mastery book. After they received a copy I'd invite people to get together with me on the phone to brainstorm some of their nine-word emails and subject lines. We would have group calls just like the very first one I'm going to share with you today, and you can see the landing page at emailmastery.com so you can reverse-engineer the process to see how it works. Ep063: Giovanni Marsico

Welcome to this week’s episode of the MoreCheeseLessWhiskers.com podcast. A couple of weeks ago I was in Toronto and attended an amazing event called the Archangels Summit. The gentlemen that puts it on every year is Giovanni Marsico. I’ve been able to spend a little time with Giovanni and gotten to know him, and the mission they have for the event. It was held in the Sony Center in Toronto, which has capacity of 3,000 people. He had over 2,500 people in the room. It had a fantastic vibe and energy to it. The year before, he had 1,500, so he's almost doubled the size. He has some amazing speakers. This year, Simon Sinek, Damon John and Dr. Shefali Tsabary. Last year, Gary Vaynerchuk and Seth Godin. This year, he had Akon do a performance which had everybody on their feet. I was watching this thinking, "The energy of this is just so incredible, he really puts on an amazing show." What he's essentially doing is creating a community of people who are taking moonshots, who are building tribes and communities that he calls superheroes. I had a wonderful idea while I was at the event that I shared with him a few days later when we had breakfast, just to see if he was interested in the idea. He was, and we decided that rather than discuss it further then, we’d explore the depth of the idea here on this podcast. I can't wait for you to hear it. Ep045: Derrik Hubbard

Today we have a really great conversation with Derrik Hubbard, a financial advisor in California. He has a really successful system he's been using to mail an invitation to the ‘right people’, a specific group of people in the area around the location where he runs a Social Security workshop. It’s a great example of the vending machine I’ve described in the last few shows. He has people to come to the workshop and from there they meet with him for a strategy session and becoming clients. It’s a system that works, and over the hour of the show we ran through the whole process of exactly how it works over his 30 day cycle. Picking the list, mailing the postcards, holding the event. Within 30 days, he has a number of people in his office and now he's able to work with them in a relationship that's going to yield a great return over the course of several years for him, and helps the people maximize what they're doing in their retirement. We spent a lot of the time talking about how to maximize that process and how to lower the threshold on the front end. Instead of offering a workshop straight away, offering a book (a lower barrier to entry) and then extending the relationship we have with people to bond, and over a longer period of time, continue to offer ‘cookies’ to them like the workshop. This is a really great episode to understand how each of the four Profit Activators in the before unit work together and how we can maximize them. You're going to enjoy this one. She's been in business for almost a year and has done a great job of building her business on the strength of some facebook advertising just after she opened, and again at the end of the year here. She's built an asset in her list of potential clients that will have an ongoing yield year after year after year, and the great thing about something like a yoga studio is the whole point of the business is to build up a recurring clientele that returns month after month. So every time you hear us talk about dating or hear about women, you can insert your situation, the kind of people you work with, and the kind of help you offer as a coach or information provider.
