Please listen to last week’s podcast for class one, the first 60 days. This series covers items to purchase, skills training and mindset.Intro To Prepping 101 will provide a broad overview of topics related to food, water, heat, shelter, defense, and self-preservation. Taking the time to develop your plans and preparations unique to your needs now will reduce your everyday stress and increase your ability to not only sustain and thrive, but also help others. This class is a twelve hour course the Academy offers to both beginner and experienced Preppers. It will take someone through a step-by-step process to become a well-prepared prepper.Though “Intro To Prepping 101” is skill and gear focused, we at the Prepper Academy believe mindset is paramount. Without the proper mindset many would be Preppers will find themselves overwhelmed, paranoid, and potentially a danger to others. That is the last thing we want to see happen. Prepping is about community and mutually assured survival. We’ll be covering that much more in depth in the near future. Each segment will cover two months of training. It’s done this way to help Preppers on tight budgets as well as not overwhelm newcomers. We help guide people towards what they should purchase, what skills they need to learn, and how one can prepare their mindset. Winter Survival & Preparedness

Winter Survival & Preparedness - This is a Repeat!  Sorry, Forrest has the Flu this week.Welcome to “The Prepping Academy.” Upcoming this week we’re going to be covering something essential for this time of year. Winter survival. Every year we hear about American’s going off the roads and getting stranded. Even worse, we hear about people freezing to death in their own homes because of lack of heat. There are also some advantages to the winter weather. Before that we’ll be jumping straight in to Kyle’s conspiracy theory of the week. At Forrest request Kyle will be covering something a little more mainstream. Deep unground military bases or DUMBS. What are they? Do they exist? The first segment we will be covering is traveling in snowy or icey conditions. Proper vehicle maintenance definitely comes in to play, but there are also essentials in addition to your get home bag that you should never travel with out. For example, traveling with two bags of kitty litter can save your life. Proper placement can add extra weight to your rear wheels for stabilization. And if you accidentally go off road the kitty litter can provide traction for your wheels to get out of the snow. The next segment we will be covering the ever important home preps that you can make. Need extra heat in the house? We’ll be discussing how you can use everyday items from your house like terra-cotta planters to heat a room. Did your power go out and you need to keep your food cold? There are also a few importantant things you should start doing the spring to prepare for next year.In closing we’ll be sharing some thoughts on what winters mean for a grid down scenario. Winter will separate the preppers from the rest. Government studies conclude that more than 90% of the population will die in a grid down scenario. Don’t be caught off guard.http://preppingacademy.com/Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/preppingacademy)

Prepping for SHTF scenarios with Angery American / Chris Weatherman - Author/TV

This week’s upcoming show for November 18th, 2016 Forrest and Kyle will be interviewing author Chris Weatherman. Some folks may know Chris by another name though. Angery American. Chris is a successful author with more than a few novels under his belt. His “Going Home” series is a best seller and has many rave reviews online. Currently Chris lives with his family in Florida. He is an avid prepper and has been involved within that community since the early 90’s. He is well versed on medicinal plants and primitive survival skills. For the first part of the hour Forrest, Kyle, and Chris will be discussing a relatively new conspiracy that has popped up. This would be referring to the “Purple Revolution.” So join us for that as it directly pertains to the recent election results and what may be coming in America’s future. Now, on top of being a best selling author, Chris has also been on the History channels hit series “Alone.” So we will be briefly discussing his time on the show and getting his input on basic survival skill essentials, gear, and mindset. The bulk of the show we’re going to be discussing the prepper mindset. Chris’ novels do a fantastic job of catching the reality of what is likely coming. The gritty harsh reality of any SHTF scenario is something preppers, newbies and veterans, need to come to terms with. There are a lot of series, books, and Youtube personalities which don’t quite capture that. Perhaps they even sell a false sense of security, or romanticized vision of Prepper heroics.http://preppingacademy.com/Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/preppingacademy)

Alan Kay Season One Winner “Alone”

Join Forrest and Kyle on this special show with an amazing guest. We skipped Kyle’s Conspiracy of the Week to maximize the interview. During a recent trip to Prepper Camp, Forrest was able to meet a lot of interesting folks. And he even managed to convince a few in to being on the show. This guest needs little introduction if you’ve ever watched the History channel series “Alone.” He was the first season’s winner, Alan Kay. If you’re not familiar with “Alone” it is a must for any Prepper. Contestants are dropped on Vancouver Island with limited tools, little resources, and plenty of challenges.Alan Kay is a Georgia native, passionate outdoorsman, and well trained in combative arts. He’s also studied medicinal plants and tactical medical response. During his time competing on the show Alan had limited resources. The 10 items he was allowed to carry were a: Saw, Axe, Sleeping bag, Large 2-quart pot, ferro rod, water bottle/canteen, 300 yards single filament line with 25 assorted hooks, small gauge gill net, 3.5lb wire, and a knife. Anyone who watched the series beginning to end could see, though difficult, how well Alan handled his stint emotionally and psychologically.A lot of interviews would focus on the series itself. Forrest and Kyle do have some questions for Alan, but will be asking Alan more about his personal philosophy on prepping, mindset, and outlook for Americas future. As always, please be sure to listen at prepperbroadcasting.com and join the chat room during these shows when live to ask any questions.Signed up for The Prepping Academy newsletter at preppingacademy.com. Family Emergency Planning

In today’s world we are always connected. Cell phones, computers, and social media are almost always within our reach. This ease of access also comes with ease of mind. With a few swipes you can see where your children, wife, and even friends are. It’s not hard to see how people have become complacent and reliant in a world where emergency services are always a button away. What happens though if all of that is taken away?I’ve often said the sign of true prepper is one that practices scenarios in their mind. Imagine for a moment any variety of scenarios that could leave you without communications: natural disasters, EMP, terror attack and subsequent overloading of the communications grid, or even something as simple as losing power.Where is your spouse? Your children? How can you get to them? Will they stay put, or travel out trying to find help? Personally, I can imagine this would bring me a great amount of anxiety. So what would the USA look like if we all lost communications at the same time? Chaos. It tethers us together, but ultimately can be our greatest Achilles heel.Join us Friday August 5, 2016  at 9:00pm EST as Forrest and Kyle discuss what actions items you need to complete your personalized family emergency planning. There will be a lot to cover so be sure to keep a pen and paper handy. Not a computer. After all, it does you no good if the computer doesn’t work. Some of the topics we’ll be covering will include: your family emergency planning binder, important documents, emergency meeting points, bugging out, information gathering, and security.Signed up for The Prepping Academy newsletter at preppingacademy.com. Prepping on a Budget!

This week on the “The Prepping Academy” Forrest and Tenderfoot are going to be discussing one of the most talked about subjects in prepping, Prepping on a Budget. This subject has been on every blog and podcast out there. On this show we hope to share with you a whole knew thinking strategy with it comes to buying your prepping supplies.Being a prepper is all about setting priorities and being responsible. If you’ve been on any survival forums or watched doomsday prepping shows on television, you’ve likely seen individuals that have committed an enormous amount of their time and money into preparing for TEOTWAWKI. Prepping can be an expensive project. Many preppers buy a few things here and there as they can afford to, all the while feeling like they’ll never have enough food, water, emergency supplies, and gear to meet their family need. How do you prepare for long-term shortages when you have trouble making ends meet while ‘times are good?’We have found several ways to get many of your preps for little or no money. We are pretty sure no matter your situation you can use one or more of these ideas to help you save money on your own gear and supplies. One of the keys to prepping on a budget is going slow. Whenever you have extra money, invest a little bit into your prepping. Eventually you will have a fully stocked storage room full of all the essential gear you need to survive a fully blown SHTF situation. Please be sure if you’ve not already signed up for “The Prepping Academy” newsletter go to www.preppingacademy.com Join us for The Prepping Academy “LIVE SHOW” every Monday Night 9:00 PM EST at http://prepperbroadcasting.com Also join us for our LIVE interactive Chat room at Prepper Broadcasting Network home page.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/preppingacademy)

Urban Survival!

Coming up on “The Prepping Academy” our host Forrest and Kyle are going to be discussing urban survival. You might be thinking to yourself this doesn’t apply to you. Let us assure you it does. Current statistics say that approximately 82% of the United States population lives in an “urban environment.” That number is projected to climb to nearly 90% by 2030.The average commute to and from work is 25.4 minutes. A car accident, stalled car, injured pedestrian, school bus, and weather can double that on a bad day. What happens though if those roads become impassable? Can you make it home by foot? What tools do you carry every day  to help you? Getting home is priority one. Forrest and Kyle will be discussing how this can be done while keeping a low profile. Now that you’ve made it home you need to think about survival. Maybe you live in a small bungalow, apartment, or studio with no land to grow on. So how exactly do you intend to provide for yourself, family, or friends. Kyle will be discussing some alternative growing systems that you can do with very little space.http://preppingacademy.com/Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/preppingacademy)

The Prepping Academy - Water Is Life!

This week on the “The Prepping Academy” Forrest and Kyle are going to be discussing one of the most important aspects of prepping, water. It is a life giving fundamental we take for granted every day. Whether you’re at home or work you always have ease of access to it. What happens though when the power goes out and water no longer flows from you tap? Access to freshwater supplies is becoming an urgent matter across the planet. How much water should you have? Do you know where to locate water, how to purify, sanitize, create, and store it? These are all things we will be covering. Be sure to take notes because we’ll be covering some very interesting tricks you’ll want to retain. Some elites, like Nestle CEO Peter Brabeck have been quoted as saying “Water is not a human right.” The Bush family back in 2005 and 2006 visited and eventually bought rights (over 300,000 acres) to the world’s largest water aquifer in South America. So if the elites are buying up water and not considering it a human right shouldn’t you be protecting your ability to provide water for yourself and family? The obvious intention is for the elites to secure water and use it as a control mechanism for the rest of the world. Would a nation without water right collapse under pressure from an organization which controls their flow of water? All things to consider. This week we’ll be spending a little more time on Kyle’s conspiracy of the week. By popular demand Kyle will be discussing alternative views on the 9/11 theory and where exactly the term “conspiracy theory” comes from. Please be sure to join the chat if you have any specific question regarding this topic. It is a very broad one and we’ll be covering it quickly.http://preppingacademy.comSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/preppingacademy)

Medical Prepping Needs with Special Guest Skinny Medic!

When it comes to prepping there are a lot of unknowns. Almost always Preppers tend to be known as self sufficient. What are the things you can’t prepare for on your own? Self analyzing is just as important as evaluating the existential threats we see everyday around us. So for a moment ask yourself a few real questions. Can you treat a bullet wound? Apply a tourniquet? Treat an infection? Do you know how to properly move an injured person with a potential spinal injury?Every prepper knows the basics: food, water, and shelter. In a perfect world that may be all you need. What happens when things aren’t so perfect? Family and friends may have to look to you when there are no longer medical services. In just about every grid down scenario medical services will cease. Social unrest could prevent you from reaching your destination. So what have you done to get your medical needs in order? Have you evaluated your personal health? Get these things done now! Above all, start learning the skills you’ll need in case of an emergency.Join Forrest and Kyle Friday as they talk with “Skinny Medic” about your medical prepping needs. Dietrich Easter is the Skinny Medic on YouTube. He has been a paramedic in 911 EMS for 14 years. He also posts videos that can help you in a medical emergency situation. The videos may also help you in everyday situations, or even if you find yourself in an active shooter event. You never know when you will be the first responder!Skinny Medic will also be attending “Prepper Camp” in September so if you are a prepper and you want to know what is vital to have in your medical kits (car, backpack, home, etc), you need to take his class. The First 24 Hours

Welcome to “The Prepping Academy.” Coming up this week Forest and Kyle are going to be covering the age old Prepper questions: when do I bug out and what happens in the first 24 hours. Let’s just say that you are in for a reality check.Depending on the emergency you may or may not have a warning. An EMP would mean death for millions of Americans. Government studies estimate the majority of the US population would be dead within the first year of an EMP, or extended power supply failure. That means nearly 800,000 people dying around you every single day. It’s safe to assume most of those deaths would be early on.In some cases you may have little time to prepare, but some is better than none. A major concern for many is living in a city or area near a military base. What happens when martial law is declared. There’s a lot of speculation. Do you have hours, or even days to escape before martial takes place? We’ll provide some realistic perspective to this situation.Above all, we’ll be discussing the most important thing you can do for any event. Have a meaningful action plan, clear communication with family members, and be organized. A lot of Preppers have the planning, the bug out location, but no practical means to transport their goods. Spoiler Alert: They’re going to die. This week for Kyle’s conspiracy theory he will be covering a conspiracy theory that is literally out of this world. Well, not too far out. Maybe just floating around in our very own orbit. If you’ve never heard of “Black Knight” you’re in for a treat. And you’ll probably feel encouraged to research this one on your own.Be sure to listen in, favorite, subscribe, like, or maybe just recommend to family and friends like the good old days.http://preppingacademy.com/ Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/preppingacademy)

Best Guns for Preppers and Survivalist

On “The Prepping Academy” join Forrest and Kyle as they talk guns for defense. As American diplomacy, politics, and society falls apart anyone with a sane mind should be considering owning a gun and preparing for a WROL (with rule of law) America. Heck, probably a few. Why a few? The simple fact is that guns are tools. If you’ve ever gardened you know that you wouldn’t use a flat shovel to plow; just like you wouldn’t use a broad fork to dig a well. So don’t go in to a gun shop with a mindset that “a gun is a gun.” And for the love of all that is holy and sane, do not buy a gun from the gun shop that tries to say a shotgun is the only weapon you need for home defense. With the view that every gun is a tool, Kyle and Forrest will be diving straight in to the best guns for a prepper. Personal recommendations and experience go a long way in this industry. The first tool we’ll be discussing is what some call their “main battle rifle.” This is typically an AR15, AK47, or a variant. Some folks may consider these weapons overkill. Keep in mind once again that we’re discussing far more than economic difficulties. Our nation is primed for civil war and social unrest. Finding yourself in a fair fight means you’ve already lost. The next weapon type our host will be covering is your secondary. 99% of the time this mean a pistol. It’s reserved for concealed carry, and backup for when your MBR is down. Learning to transition between your primary and secondary is an important skill. Above all skills though every prepper needs to do one essential thing with their firearms: PRACTICE. This doesn’t mean goofing off at the range. Because let’s be honest; that’s exactly what going to a range is. If your shooting practice isn’t dynamic you’re setting yourself up for failure.Give us a good rating on iTunes!!!www.preppingacademy.comSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/preppingacademy)

Essential Prepper Gear and your Money

Welcome to “The Prepping Academy.” Join us live this Friday as we talk about essential Prepper gear. In the Prepper community there seems to be two prevailing purchasing strategies for gear. Buy cheap and buy often, or buy once cry once. Some Preppers buy some of the absolute cheapest gear possible from sites like Aliexpress and buy as many as duplicates as they can. Others do a ton of research and buy high end.As with every show, we’ll begin with Kyle’s conspiracy of the week. This week he’ll be diving in to a little bit of the paranormal. Demonic possession. It may sound crazy, but he’ll be discussing secret societies that are literally inviting demons in to our world, what their agenda is, why it matters, and what we can do about it. Even if you’re not a believer, it’s important to note some of the most evil individuals in the world are and this is what spurs their actions. “Know your enemy.” And no, this isn’t a Sun Tzu quote. The first thing Forrest and Kyle we’ll be breaking down is the basic “essentials.” Items that every Prepper must have. When it comes to Prepper gear we’ve never met a Prepper who doesn’t want their product to last. For a Prepper, things like lifetime warranties don’t matter much. After all, who is going to be manning the phone at Surefire or EOTech after the crap hits the fan? Product testing, torture, and personal reference is key. If you can afford to have multiples obviously you want them, but with weapons sights that run $600 plus that’s not always practical. With that said, what items should you buy cheap and buy often? Having redundancies and items with interchangeable parts can be a real headache saver. So how do you find the balance? Listen in to Kyle and Forrest as they discuss. There are bound to be some differences of opinion on this one.http://preppingacademy.com/Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/preppingacademy)

Intro to Prepping 101 - Part 3

Thank you for tuning in to listen to “The Prepping Academy.” We’ve had some amazing guest the past two weeks. If you missed out on our shows with “Survivor Jane” and “Skinny Medic” be sure to head over to the prepping academy to listen to the archived shows. The two of them were able to share with us a wealth of information and also their personal experiences that led them to become preppers.Prior to that Forrest and Kyle had been covering their “Prepping 101” series. This series is intended for newcomers and veteran preppers. If you’ve just started it will be an excellent guide to evaluating what steps you need to be taking from two long time preppers with more than 30 years combined experience. If you’re a vetern prepper our hope is that you’ll listen to evaluate your preps and maybe we’ll be able to shed some light on some weaker areas. When we last left off we had covered up to the first 120 days of your prepping journey. As with the first two sections of the series we will be covering purchases, training actions, and mindset. These items all go hand in hand. As we’ve said before, you can have all the most expensive guns and gadgets, but if you don’t have the mindset it’s all going to be worthless. A few items we will be discussing more in depth are: power options, backup communications, primary and secondary firearms, prepping your bug out bag, char cloth, and camping. We will also be discussing Kyle’s conspiracy of the week.Signed up for “The Prepping Academy” newsletter at preppingacademy.com. How to know when it is time to bug out!

This week on the “The Prepping Academy” Forrest and Tenderfoot are going to be discussing one of the most important and difficult questions to answer, “How to know when it is time to bug out?”I know many people, would feel the urge to stay home and protect their property. But you need to weigh the choice of staying versus the risk to your life and health. For some folks, the risks to their safety out weights the danger they could very well face by staying and trying to protect their property. The latest hurricanes have people rethink the stay and protect their property vs. their safety.Bugging out to soon can be a waste of time and resource’s. Bugging out and having to return days later can and will put stress on family members and survival groups and could cause others to question each time events warrant a real bug out situation. Everyone wants to make the right decision and the proper planning should help everyone understand the go or no go decision. As I have stated many times I believe the final decision should be in the hands of one person with a team of advisors around them. This will be a judgment call on your part or your team leader and only time will tell if the judgment call was a good one or not. I would always lean to leave to early than stay until it’s to late. Please be sure if you’ve not already signed up for “The Prepping Academy” newsletter go to www.preppingacademy.com Join us for The Prepping Academy “LIVE SHOW” every Monday Night 9:00 PM EST at http://prepperbroadcasting.com Also join us for our LIVE interactive Chat room at Prepper Broadcasting Network home page. Survival Medicine with Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy!

Survival Medicine with Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy!Welcome to “The Prepping Academy.” This week we’re going to be joined by special guest Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy. That’s right, from “The Doom and Bloom Survival Medicine Hour.” Together they have written “The Survival Medicine Handbook.” Dr. Alton also has a New York Times Bestseller “The Ebola Survival Handbook.” The two are mentioned, or sources by several other authors on their works.Beginning the hour, just like every other week, we’ll partake in “Kyle’s Conspiracy of The Week.” This week we’re going to be talking about things that you know, but you don’t really know. What? Have you ever heard of the “Mandela Effect?” The conclusions of this theory range from time traveling tampering with history to super hadron colliders creating alternate universes. The most frightening part of this conspiracy? Kyle is going to demonstrate it for you. Prepare to have your mind messed with.Prepping had so many avenues, skills, and tactics to learn that someone could spend two or three life times trying to get prepared. So it’s always nice when someone else comes along and takes a lot of the guess work out of it for you. Maybe they even write a great book so you can further your education from home. Well, that is the case with Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy. Medical training and education is not cheap. Their book won’t prepare you for brain surgery, but it can certainly help in life or death scenarios.Unfortunately, many Preppers have all the gear, but so little training. Dedicate the time to listen, buy, and educate yourself. People like Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy are disseminating priceless information here.
