Find a Career that 'Works' for You

Tracy was the typical, quintessential, high-achieving quality performing kid, from her high school to college life. She graduated with a Psychology degree, but by some work of luck (or maybe not?) and swine flu, she got a cubicle on Wall Street, which eventually made her life miserable. With the tremendous courage, she told us the story of how she decided to quit her 9 to 5 job, while still maintaining a working relationship with her team, giving her a smooth exit from Wall Street. Unfortunately, things after that didn’t come easy.* * “When I finally woke up and pull my head out of this thing and decided ‘ I have to get out of here’, I had no idea where I have to go.” Tracy’s career background was mostly decided out of fear, being afraid to graduate without a job, or to be the unsuccessful one from her batch. I have heard my fair share of these kind of stories, of people getting a diploma and making a career out of what their parents or social circle expected them to do. Having the passion to hear people’s stories, and wanting to create better strategies for those who have been on the same road as her, Tracy had taught the following steps: **First step is: Figure out your core values. ** Truly get clear on what you love. What are your CORE values? Freedom, stability, integrity, flexibility? Get very clear to what are the values that are important to one’s being, and committing to those values. **Steps 2 and 3 are Nature and Nurture. ** It is overlapping what comes naturally to one’s self, and what has been learnt over time. Whatever is in between, it is the niche, the sandbox, the genius zone. It should be something that you are good at and something that you can work with. Finally, the question on how to focus on finding the core values arises with the worry of having a stable income to sustain a family, which is summed up to still knowing the core values, the thing that can give value to other people. Having the money and the luxury as the motivator for finding one’s self is never a guarantee for success, and most often than not, is a sure fail for the career, and even destroys life. **Final Thoughts ** The biggest regret of the dying is not living true to themselves. You will never regret trying something new, and you will regret not trying. Book a call with Tracy today!** ** TracyTimm.com/9to5

America's Legal Coach with Scott Reib

Scott Reib is known as America’s Legal Coach. He’s the official Zig Ziglar Small Business Lawyer, a Ziglar Legacy Certified Trainer, and he has over 20 years of experience as an attorney. For the last two decades, Scott has been helping business owners, entrepreneurs, coaches, and service providers to “shatterproof” their businesses and succeed in the professional world. Scott is a firm believer that seeking legal advice doesn’t have to be intimidating or expensive if we treat lawyers like primary care doctors instead of ER doctors. Through his subscription-based Access Plan legal service, Scott is making great strides in shifting that perspective. In the past, clients were scared to call Scott or any attorney because they were nervous about the cost of the conversation. This led them to let things go on fire before they called out for help. With the Access Plan, clients pay a flat rate per month. This ensures that they are both on the same team, and they can call him as necessary before things become serious issues.
