fun for all levels of experience

I'm a pretty hardcore Fallout fan because I love games with depth and creative back stories. I love podcasts that dive into those kind of stories and give some life to the game. This podcast dives indepth into the subplots of the game we love, and they do a really good job of it. They all have a different level of experience with the Fallout world, so you get to here their experience from different points of view. I kind of wish the game play section was a little more of a topic, but since they are kid of just starting out I think they are kind of hitting their stride in that area. Overall, a great and entertaining podcast that I will listen to as long as they are recording.

Fallout Rocks! and so does this podcast!

Rank #2: The Resource Wars – TNP009

In the last regular episode we talked about Fallout 1, but we wanted to go back a little bit and get into the Resource Wars, which did eventually lead to the Great War that plunged us into the irradiated Wasteland we all know and love. Rather than being looked at as some giant war that involved several world powers, as in World Wars 1 and 2, the Resource Wars is a term used to describe a period in time where the world’s powers are embroiled in their own conflicts, revolving around a, surprise, lack of resources. The Americans and the Chinese were embroiled in the Sino-American War, the European Commonwealth and the nations of the Middle East were fighting over oil, which in turn led to the European civil war. Rank #3: Interview with Flen from Fallout Cascadia – TNP008

We had a lot of fun talking to Rob a couple weeks ago about his mod Gamma Radio, so we though we’d speak with another mod maker for our second spotlight episode. Fallout Cascadia, as many of you guys are probably aware, is an ambitious mod, promising a new world-space that’ll show us a little more of the Northwest Commonwealth, namely Seattle. The project’s website is pretty vague as far as what we can expect in terms of people, places, and things we’ll encounter, but the tumblr page for the project states that the map is a little larger than Fallout 4’s map and that the main quest line is similar to New Vegas’ in terms of how long it’ll take to get through. Rank #5: I am Vault Dweller – Fallout 1 – TNP007

Alright Wastelanders, we have arrived. We are finally stepping out of Vault 13 into the Wastes of Southern California. This is the game that started it all. It was released on 30 September 1997 and was developed by Black Isle Studios, a division of Interplay. It’s often been said that Fallout 1 was the spiritual successor to Wasteland, put out in 2987 by interplay. To be fair, though, wasteland got an actual sequel in 2015 with the crowd funded Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut. So here we are people, right on the precipice of the Fallout universe…finally. Talking about Fallout 1 is right over the next hill, however, I thought we needed to talk a little bit about some of Fallout’s possible divergences from our own time lime. Rank #10: Prelude to Fallout, Part 3 – TNP004

Podcast cover
Read more

In this last episode before we actually get into the Fallout Universe, we wanted to spend a little time talking about nuclear technology. It seems that after World War 2, instead of focusing a lot of energy into miniaturizing their tech as we did in real life with the advent of the transistor, the Fallout Universe seems to have shifted their focus on nuclear tech. That’s not to say that they did nothing in the way of miniaturizing, they did, but we see so much tech in the Fallout Universe that harnesses the power of the atom. In this episode, we’re going to talk a little bit about how nuclear fission works, and talk about some nuclear tech in and out of game.
