This podcast is a Career Clinic. Whether it's figuring out your passion or purpose, navigating the corporate maze, growing as a manager and leader, or cutting through the fog of entrepreneurship, this is about helping you reach your potential. During my twenty years in leadership in companies such as JPMorgan Chase, Allstate, and LegalShield, I had the opportunity to create and guide high-performing teams through delivering double-digit growth, mergers and acquisitions, offshoring, outsourcing, startups, and well over 300 partnerships. By way of background, I was a late education bloomer, gaining my undergrad from the University of Phoenix at the tender age of 34 :). From there, I went on to pursue my Executive MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. I serve on the DeVry University Board of Trustees, am the author of Success on Your Own Terms: 6 Promises to Fire up your Passion, Ignite Your Career and Create an Amazing Life and preside as the CEO of The Corelink Solution, which also the operating company for Holy Culture. I believe in God’s unique plan and potential for each human being. That is why I do what I do. #PurposeDrivenCareer #Careers #CareerAdvice #CareerGuidance #CareerManagement #Entrepreneurship

29: Seizing the Opportunity of Uncertainty with Kim Davis

It is natural for us to want to bet on a “sure thing,” but as we know, life is full of uncertainty. During this episode, Kim Davis, one of my favorite mentors, shares how to embrace uncertainty as an opportunity and deliver value at the highest levels.  Kim Davis is the Executive Vice President, Social Impact, Growth Initiatives & Legislative Affairs at the National Hockey League (NHL). Prior to the NHL, she served as a Senior Managing Director at Teneo and served as President of the JPMorgan Chase Foundation (fifth-largest corporate foundation in the world). Kim has been recognized as one of Hockey News’ “Top 100 Most Influential Leaders in the sport, Savoy Magazine’s “2018 Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America, showcased in Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business and the Business Journal’s 100 Most Influential Women and in 2012, she was profiled with First Lady Michelle Obama in Essence magazine’s “28 Most Influential Black Women in America.”
