Ep. 70: Resolutions Series: Lacy Young on Health and Wellness

Welcome to 2016! This year, I'm starting off with a new series on Raise Your Hand Say Yes all about New Year's Resolutions. Do you start every year thinking you're going to deal with your health and money and (finally!) clean out your closet? If so, you're in for a treat this month! And if not, you're still in for a treat because these upcoming episodes are gooooood!  This week, I got to sit down with one of my favorite people on the planet, Lacy Young  and talk all about health and wellness and what to do if you want to be healthier. Lacy's advice is spot on while also being super reasonable and I know you'll be able to walk away from this conversation with at least a couple of things you can start doing today to get healthier and feel better in your body. We also talk about how you can tell the difference between what you really want for your body versus what the magazines say you should want, the value of putting yourself in the way of empowerment, and a beginner's guide to meditating. Lacy also shares what she experienced in the beginning of her own journey to get healthy, and I'm sure we can all relate. Be warned: by listening to this episode, all of your excuses about why you can't eat better or meditate will go out the window! 100 Rejection Letters - Registration open through 10/31/16 Show Notes: Connect with Lacy: Website | Facebook | Instagram | Pinterest Lacy's Meditation Retreats Join the RYHSY Fb group  Subscribe in itunes

I am so excited to be bringing my friend Elise Cripe back on the podcast to talk about all things goal setting! Ep. 37: Managing Fear and the Inner Critic

Fear. Doubt. Inner critics. They are something WE ALL deal with. Every single one of us. And yet, they make us feel so alone and isolated. Well, I say not anymore! In this week's episode of the podcast, I'm flying solo and talking about how to step beyond fear into your Most Important Work - that work that keeps you up at night, that work you can't stop thinking about, that work you know you were meant to do. That work that you usually put off because there's a voice in your head asking Who do you think you are?  Yep. That work. And that voice. You DO have a choice of how to react to your fear. Listen in to hear how you can make that choice as easy as possible for yourself. PS. It's time for the 3rd annual Multi-Passionate Must Haves sale and I'm thrilled that my program More Shenanigans Please is included among the 26 products by 28 expert contributors worth $1,730 - for only $97! This bundle was designed specifically for those of you who have a LOT of different interests, projects, and creative pursuits in your life and is an amazing value. Ep. 26: Jennifer Lee on Creativity as an Asset

Newsflash: your creativity is an asset, not a liability.  I have based my entire business around this principle, and I wanted to explore it further on the podcast. I see too many women trying to quiet their creative voices instead of embracing them. It's time to change.  In this episode, I talk about why I think creativity needs to be embraced and then sit down to talk with Jennifer Lee, one of my favorite peeps ever, about it. As the creator of the Right Brain Business Plan, Jenn has see first hand how creative people are able to succeed because of their creativity, not in spite of it.  If you've ever thought, if only I liked spreadsheets..., this episode is for you!  Jenn, you are the best! Thank you for being on the show!  Erin is also going to be my co-host for the Raise your Hand Say Yes book club episodes, the first of which is going to air on March 4 when we’ll be discussing Gay Hendricks’ The Big Leap. PS. If you like what you hear or are a fan of the podcast, please consider subscribing and submitting a review in iTunes. Thank you! PPS. Ep. 33: Elise Blaha Cripe on Setting (and Reaching!) Goals

I was so excited to have Elise Blaha Cripe back on the show! This week, we talked all about goal-setting and getting things done. Elise is a MASTER at setting (and sharing) her goals and I was excited to chat with her about the practical steps of how she gets things done and how her business (and goals!) has evolved over time. We also got to talk about two of Elise's bigger projects: Make29 and her Get to Work Book (amazing!) and how these projects have played into each other and what she's learned about everything. And, a conversation about goals and doing the work wouldn't be complete without diving into a discussion about fear and comparisons and all that good stuff. We covered a lot in this conversation! Ep. 224: How to Set Big Goals *and* Chill Out all at the Same Time

This episode was inspired by a listener's request to cover setting more realistic goals as a topic. Here's the thing: while I don't think we need to necessarily worry about how "realistic" our goals are, I also think that we can get better at pulling ourselves off the brink of burnout in order to live the lives that we want to live. But is it possible to do both? I think that it is - AND - that it's not only possible, but necessary. In this episode, I break down how and give real-life examples (literally from my life!) of what this process might look like! My RYHSY Life: On Giving Up Alcohol

I'm excited to unveil a new feature called My RYHSY Life. In these monthly-ish episodes, I'll be going behind the scenes of my own life and business to tell the in-real-time story of what I'm currently raising my hand and saying yes to.  I'm kicking the series off with the story of how and why I decided to give up drinking a couple of months ago, in what is becoming a permanent change in my life. I'll be sharing what led me to make the decision to dive into the dry life, what I kept telling myself about why I couldn't do so sooner, and what I've learned about myself, my relationship with alcohol, and my life since. You'll also learn about the conversation I was afraid to have with my husband after I quit and the times I've been triggered to drink since. And not sure how my giving up drinking pertains to you and your creative quests? I'll fill you in on that too!  Show Notes: It's Business Time (applications are open through 3/15) Vintage RYHSY: Lacy Young on Shifting Vintage RYHSY: Lacy Young on Health Lacy Young's Shift Retreats Andrea Owen's Your Kick-Ass Life podcast recovery series Holly Whitaker of Hip Sobriety on Real Talk Radio with Nicole Antionette

I am so excited to have author and illustrator Ann Shen back on the podcast for the third time. On the surface, our conversation is about routines—how to find them, how to keep them, and how to stay committed to them. But once we dug deeper, I realized that this conversation was actually about how to find practices that help you release anxiety and then how to allow those practices to be a priority for you in your life. Without apologizing for what you need and who you are. Oh, right. That apologizing piece is huge, isn't it? Enjoy, enjoy and if you have any thoughts on routines and rituals, I'd love to hear them!
