Imagine if you possessed 4 powerful questions that would automatically put you in a positive state of mind, improve your relationships with every person in your life, and deepen your sense of purpose.

Today’s podcast episode is an unscripted conversation between Hal Elrod and Jon Berghoff that originally aired live, this past Tuesday. You’re about to listen to Hal and Jon engaging in a very personal dialogue about 4 scientifically backed questions that have the power to completely change your life.

Full show notes: http://halelrod.com/187

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Question #1 can lead to both immediate and lasting motivation, fuel and sustainable drive. Aaron Hurst, CEO of Imperative and author of The Purpose Economy would suggest that this question has redefined what it means to be our best at work and at home.

Question #2 will reconnect you with your highest capabilities, unlimited potential, and your greatest capacity for new levels of fulfillment and achievement. Over 19 million people have asked this question in the past 15 years... you don't want to miss the boat!

Question #3 will enable you to redefine the "DNA" that dictates if and how effectively you take action. Researchers Danah Zohar and Ian Marshall would consider this question to be at the root of what it means to develop our Spiritual Intelligence.

Question #4 is one that leading scientists like Dr. Barbara Fredrickson and Dr. Carol Dweck, from the field of Positive Psychology, have determined this question to be the highest determinant of your ability to "shape your destiny".

*BONUS* Guided Visualization: This will be one of the highlights of your day when you listen to today’s episode. Jon leads you through a powerful and inspiring guided visualization! You’ll also receive his best advice for taking the images in your mind and turning them into reality.

Challenging everything we’ve been taught about what it takes to improve our lives, ourselves, and achieve our goals (hint: it’s not willpower), Benjamin enlightens us with a new paradigm that I believe is revolutionary in personal development.

Today, he joins the podcast to talk about the book, what it means to be 100% committed to anything you truly want to achieve, and the power of shaping your environment. If you’ve ever set goals and fallen short of them, this is a must-listen.

Seriously though, this episode may be THE single most important podcast I've ever recorded, because of the implications for all of us (individually) AND for the global impact that this could ultimately make for millions (possibly billions) of people.

I mean we're literally talking about elevating the consciousness of the human race!

Today my business partner and one of my best friends (yes, we're BFFs) Jon Berghoff and I finally reveal the LIVE experience that will bring together the world's most dedicated Miracle Morning practitioners for the first ever "Miracle Morning Mastery & Co-Creation Experience!"

This is the first opportunity in history to both experience "Miracle Morning Mastery" (which will be led by myself, Jon Berghoff, and a team of world renowned experts in each of the SAVERS) while working together to literally create the future of the Miracle Morning Movement and how we will collectively impact billions of people around the world.

To our knowledge, there is nothing quite like this experience that has ever been offered, and definitely not for The Miracle Morning Community!

Rank #7: The Single Most Important Skill for You to Master

Podcast cover
Read more

Regardless of your field, one of the most important skill sets to master is knowing how to effectively connect with, communicate with, and influence your clients. The formula I rely on for this – whether I’m selling, writing, or developing a podcast – is the Context Creation formula. This episode will give you the elements you’ll need to implement this strategy in your life immediately.

It’s changed a little bit over the years but I’ve narrowed the Context Creation formula to five major components:

1. ACK – Acknowledge Your Audience

2. ETW – Enter Their World

3. ENR – Enroll Your Audience

4. WIIFT – What’s In It For Them?

5. ETR + BVA – Earn The Right + Be Vulnerable and Authentic

ACK + ETW + ENR + WIIFT + [ETR+BVA] = Context Creation

“When you’re vulnerable, people fall in love with you.” – Jon Berghoff

Podcast cover
Read more

Today's episode was tough to record, as it's the most vulnerable I've ever been on the podcast. You'll hear me reveal why 2019 was the most difficult year of my life—by far. I spent most of the year suffering from debilitating anxiety, overwhelming depression, and driven by FEAR.

For months, I suffered in silence, wondering what in the hell was wrong with me. I was afraid of being judged, of letting my friends and business partners down, and of never getting my sense of optimism back.

Finally, I had to be willing to be vulnerable, to ask for help, and to make major changes in my life to ensure that my choices are guided by my highest values, in 2020 and beyond

Many people rely on multiple cups of coffee or products like 5 Hour Energy to get through the day. Far more of us choose not to prioritize our health until it becomes a serious issue - and one thing we often don’t think about is how the food we eat impacts our energy levels and resulting motivation (or lack thereof) throughout the day.

Today, I’m talking to you about how to change that in order to naturally feel more energetic and live a longer, healthier, happier life. By the end of this episode, I want you to start to choose foods based on long-term health consequences instead of just taste.

Along the way, I’ll share with you insights from my own eating habits, strategies to transform your overall diet, and how you can still eat yummy food for every single meal.

Rank #12: 265: How To Become Emotionally Invincible

Podcast cover

What if I told you that every destructive emotion you’ve ever felt, are feeling now, and will ever feel in the future is self-created by you and is completely optional?

What if I then taught you a way to immediately take complete control of your emotional well-being so that you never have to feel painful emotions again?

That’s what today’s episode is all about. If you can be in control of your emotional state from within, put yourself in a peak emotional state, and manage through the setbacks you face, you don’t just feel great about life - you become emotionally invincible.

Emotional invincibility is hugely powerful. It makes it that much easier to apply the Miracle Equation, and to truly enjoy every moment in your life. In today’s podcast - the fourth episode in my series about my upcoming book, The Miracle Equation: The Two Decisions That Move Your Biggest Goals from Possible, to Probable, to Inevitable - I dive deep into why it’s so hard to be at peace with all things. We’ll explore why you are the cause of your negative emotions and how to transcend them, and I’ll share with you my three techniques to implement emotional invincibility in your world.

For the last two years, I’ve become a huge fan of Aubrey Marcus – podcast host, author, and the founder and CEO of Onnit, the leading supplement company for human optimization.

Within the first few minutes of hearing Aubrey’s podcast (two years ago) I felt an instant connection with him as a deeply thoughtful, highly evolved, and exceptionally brilliant individual – one who I could learn A LOT from – and I think you will too.

Aubrey recently released the book Own The Day, Own Your Life (available now for pre-order) - his personal manual for getting the most out of your body and mind on a daily basis. I’m about halfway through the book now, and I made significant changes to my daily routine – after reading just the first few chapters.

Today, Aubrey joins me on the podcast to talk about his book, how to flip the script when the voice in your head is telling you not to do something that’s good for you, and how we can set ourselves up for success in a world that doesn’t always have our health and well-being in mind.

James Colburn has worked for more than two decades in executive and entrepreneurial roles in marketing, real estate, nonprofits, and consulting.

In this powerful conversation, James breaks down his transformational evening ritual, including the BIG questions that are helping to solve the “purposeless epidemic.” His simple, yet highly effective process, will teach you how to embrace the life you have, tap into the joys of life, and redefine what it really means to be successful.

Rank #18: 220: How I Became a Millionaire - with David Osborn

A few years ago, I was invited to speak at an event for the non-profit One Life Fully Lived. While I was there, I saw David Osborn speak for the first time, and I was captivated by his rare blend of authenticity, transparency, expertise, and contribution.

He shared his story of transforming from a troubled youth into a self-made millionaire, showing us where every dollar came from as he amassed a fortune worth over $70 million. I’d met a few other millionaires, but none at that level - and few who were willing to openly share the real secrets to their success in a sincere effort to help others.

You may have seen my email on Monday announcing that David and I co-authored a new book, Miracle Morning Millionaires: What the Wealthy Do Before 8 AM That Will Make You Rich.

On today’s podcast episode, David shares his story, his background, and gets you inside the mind of someone who has achieved the financial freedom we'd all love to have. No matter who you are or what your personal income level is, you’re sure to benefit from his knowledge and insight.

As the founder of the Flourishing Leadership Institute, one aspect of Jon Berghoff’s job is to use visualization as a tool to create high impact solutions for organizations seeking revolutionary change.

Why that is important for you today is that these same principles can be applied on an individual level to completely shift how you think about achieving success in your own life.

The conversation you’re about to hear (which originally aired on Rob Dial’s MWF Motivation Podcast) is a sneak peek into just how powerful visualization can be on achieving your goals.

Jon Berghoff will be teaching these visualization methodologies next month at this year’s Best Year Ever Blueprint [LIVE] experience. Click here to find out how you can join us and learn from Jon in-person!

As we see with so many millionaires, celebrities, and other highly successful individuals - achieving the success we think we want doesn’t always provide us with the deep fulfillment that we truly desire. So, how do we combine outer success with inner fulfillment?

Today, you’ll meet one of my coaches, Jenai Lane, who has helped me do exactly that. She provides people all over the world with tools to awaken their greatest visions, experience fulfillment, and discover their true selves.

Jenai is an award-winning entrepreneur, creator of the Spirit Coach Method, and author of Spirit Led Instead: The Little Tool Book of Limitless Transformation. Through her work, she explores how you can move from being led by your head to being led by your spirit, higher consciousness, infinite wisdom, source energy, God, or whatever you call the highest power in the universe.

Jenai joins the podcast today to talk about not only why spiritual practice is so valuable, but how you can cultivate your own – in just five minutes each day – to illuminate the spirit within.

How would you describe your current reality? Are you primarily experiencing states of love, joy, bliss, and enthusiasm? Or do you find yourself enduring feelings of stress, anxiety, fear, and general negativity – more often than you’d like?

If you’re feeling the latter more than the former, there is no better time than now to remember that your reality is determined by what you focus on—habitually and over an extended period of time—and you have the power within you to create a reality that both feels great and enables you to transform any area of your life.

If you’re feeling anything less than optimum, right now, I want to extend a challenge to you. In today’s episode, I talk about how I’ve transformed my Scribing practice to gain more clarity, solve my problems, and ultimately create the reality I want to live in – and how you can do the same.

323: How to Take Action When You Don't Feel Like It

Podcast cover
Read more

No matter who you are, what you do, or what your goals are, there are probably things in your life that you would benefit from doing that you’d prefer not to do. Today, I really didn’t want to go for a run – nor record this podcast – and yet I did both.

So, how can you get yourself to do the things you need to do, even when you don’t have the drive, motivation, or energy to do them? When you lose your motivation, you need to get tactical. It’s time to implement concrete strategies to reframe the situation and recapture your momentum.

Inspired by my experience this morning, I’ve decided to use today’s episode to explore this further and help answer the crucial question: how do you get yourself to take action and do the things you know you need to do, even when you don’t feel like doing them?

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How objects, challenges, setbacks, defeats, and failures squash the goal achieving mindset - and what to do when the infatuation period wears off after you’ve adopted a new habit.
  • What my Cutco sales manager said to me when I told him I wasn’t feeling motivated - and how this reality check empowered me to take responsibility for my feelings.
  • How to reframe taking action and doing the things you don’t want to do in your daily practice.
  • Why making change is more like turning up a thermostat than flipping a switch - and how to condition your mindset over an extended period of time.

What if making a significant improvement in the MOST important area of your life is not only possible, but you can complete it in the next few weeks? In today’s podcast, you’ll find out how you can improve the most important area of your life.

Last week, I invited you and our fellow Miracle Morning Community members to join the “Mission for May” (30-Day Challenge) by choosing the ONE area of your life that you’d most like to improve, and then focus on improving every day, for the next 30 days, by concentrating your Miracle Morning S.A.V.E.R.S. on that one area.

Over 1,200 members of our community said “YES!” and are currently participating in the “Mission for May” Challenge, here in the Facebook group. Just because we’re a week into May doesn’t mean it’s too late!

In today’s podcast episode, you’ll learn what inspired this 30-day challenge, how to choose the one thing that needs your focus above all else right now, and the four simple steps you can follow to make a transformational change during the month of May and beyond.

When my friend John O’Leary was nine years old, a horrific accident left him with burns on 100% of his body, and a slim chance of survival. He defied the odds to make a remarkable recovery and has spent his life since on a mission to share the lessons he learned about overcoming adversity.

John and I met years ago when we spoke on the same stage, and I can attest that he is one of the most authentic and inspirational communicators that I know. In fact, his message has now reached over 1 million people in 14 countries.

When I found out John has a new book coming out today, I invited him to be on the show to talk about it. His new book is titled: In Awe: Rediscover Your Childlike Wonder to Unleash Inspiration, Meaning, and Joy, and shows us how to recapture and harness our childlike qualities in order to become more engaged, successful, and fulfilled, as individuals and as leaders. He’s also donating 100% of his profits and giving some valuable bonuses for anyone who gets his book this week (details here).

As a society, we don’t know what’s next, and it’s easier than ever to let yourself be ruled by uncertainty.

As a continuation of last week’s episode, today I want to share with you a number of actionable insights you can implement immediately to up-level your self-care right now. Today you’ll learn not only why all of us often struggle to make time for self-care, but what you can do right now to double down on your self-care practices (without letting them consume your day) and face your biggest challenges in a meaningful, manageable way.

If you’re struggling in any area of your life, right now, today’s podcast episode can help you. I’m sharing a profound breakthrough with you that I had, recently, and inviting you to apply it to your life - immediately.

A week ago, when I was recording this episode, I was struggling. I’m still dealing with the ongoing side effects of chemotherapy, and I’m still trying to work through the resulting anxiety, depression, and cognitive challenges that I’ve discussed openly with you in previous episodes of this podcast.

In the past week, I’ve made a radical shift that has taken me from feeling depressed, unmotivated, and overwhelmed to feeling genuinely happy, energized, and in control of myself, and my life.

In today’s podcast, I’m sharing the story and the strategy of how I reached this breakthrough, how to return to the tools you already have inside of you to conquer your greatest challenges, and what you can do right now to work through this incredibly trying time in human history.

317: What Should You Focus On Right Now?

Podcast cover
Read more

What are you choosing to focus on right now? In this unique moment in time, there’s more competing for our attention than ever before. It’s an unprecedented feeling, and even “How are you doing?” can now feel like a loaded question.

It is human nature to allow what’s outside of us to dictate and determine our inner state. That is why now, more than ever, we have to be intentional about what we choose to think about, act on, and how we invest our time, energy, and attention.

In today’s episode, I want to talk about two simple things you can focus on right now:

  • Focus on becoming the “best” you’ve ever been.
  • Focus on making your relationships the best they have ever been.

Now, more than ever, we need to be at our best, for ourselves as well as those we love, and those we lead.

What does it mean to be authentic in all aspects of your life – as an entrepreneur, in the corporate world, with our families, and even with ourselves? And how can we use authenticity to make a positive impact in the world?

To help me answer this on today’s podcast episode, I’m thrilled to be speaking with JB Glossinger, known by millions as the “Morning Coach.” JB holds a Ph.D in metaphysics, an MBA in business, and he’s impacted millions of people around the world as a motivational speaker, coach, leader of masterminds, and best known as host of the Morning Coach podcast—which has surpassed 40 million downloads

I discovered JB’s work back in 2008, as I was conceptualizing the Miracle Morning, but this has been our first opportunity to connect and have a real conversation about being vulnerable, building businesses, and offering real value in people’s lives.

315: The Uncommon Conversations We Need to be Having

Most of us are faced with concerns that we weren’t thinking about two weeks ago, experiencing major shifts in our lifestyles and our businesses, and facing new challenges as parents, entrepreneurs, and leaders.

On today’s podcast, Jon Berghoff joins me to discuss the conversations we should be having to find meaning and purpose, how to stop being paralyzed by uncertainty and accelerate your own learning, and how to step up as a leader and model great behavior for others - no matter what you do.

Jon is the founder of Xchange – a method that you can use to solve whatever challenges you’re currently facing. Over the past few weeks, he has been working on the front lines – not of medicine, but of group communication and collaboration – to help people make sense of their sudden and unexpected challenges, and to come up with solutions.

For the first time ever, today’s episode of the Achieve Your Goals podcast was recorded with a live audience, so that we could demonstrate for you in real time how to engage in the types of uncommon conversations that will enable you to solve the unexpected challenges you’re facing and create new opportunities.

314: We're All In This Together: An Empowering Perspective on Coronavirus

Podcast cover
Read more

The coronavirus pandemic sweeping the world is truly unprecedented in our lifetimes. This is a time in our lives when there is a massive need for leadership - not just from our leaders, but from every human being on the planet.

As a species, we’re going through a lot of firsts right now - new circumstances, new challenges, a lot of fear, and more uncertainty than many of us have ever faced. A lot of you are experiencing illness, stress, fear, anxiety, and financial hardship, and many, especially the elderly, are feeling more isolated and alone than ever before.

Last week, we talked about how to accept what you can’t control and focus on what you can. Today, we’re continuing that conversation and getting more actionable. This isn’t about logistics, groceries, or where to find toilet paper. It’s about managing your inner world, and finding stronger, more resilient, more conscious versions of ourselves through adversity.

To help me through this conversation, I’ve brought Brotha James back to the podcast. In addition to being an uplifting, conscious musician, he’s also a world-class facilitator. He helps unleash collective wisdom and group genius living inside people through intentional questions and meaningful conversations.

Today, we’re exploring how to reset and redirect your focus thoughts. There’s never been a better moment to optimize your mindset, your inner world, your inner freedom, and what you can control, and we’ve included six questions to help you work through this process as you listen to the podcast.

313: How to Get Rid of ALL Your Problems

Podcast cover
Read more

We all have problems, but how our problems affect us can differ greatly from one person to another. While one person might feel overwhelmed or even depressed by the problems we’re facing, someone else might actually feel optimistic and motivated, viewing their problems as opportunities for growth.

In the last year, I’ve dealt with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and severe sleep deprivation. And while these “problems” have been the most difficult I’ve ever dealt with (and am still dealing with), they have become my greatest opportunity for growth.

If we can change and reframe our perceptions, we can have a better quality of life. If we realize that the word “problem” is simply a label we’ve given to situations, and which amplifies our worst feelings - we can use them as a way to better understand ourselves, learn, and, most importantly, work through them.

In today’s solo episode, I want to show you how to look at “problems” through a new lens, shift your paradigm, and find not just solutions, but inner freedom.

312: 6 Years of Wisdom In 45 Minutes

Podcast cover
Read more

Today’s Episode: “6 Years of Wisdom In 45 Minutes” is something very different. It’s an actual message taken from our Best Year Ever Blueprint (BYEB) Mentors program that we introduced this week.

I asked Chip Franks to choose one of his favorite videos from inside the program, and to use the audio for this week’s Achieve Your Goals podcast episode, to give you some added value this week.

This particular BYEB Mentors session that he chose features me, and my two dear friends, Jon Vroman and Jon Berghoff, sharing our most valuable lessons learned during the past 6 years of hosting the Best Year Ever Blueprint.

And while I’ve been pretty open about my struggles this past year, I’d say this is the most vulnerable I’ve ever been. This session takes you really deep into my lowest point, the reasons why, and more importantly - what you can do now if you’re struggling, too.

We also give you universally applicable self-awareness activities that you can immediately implement to improve any area of your life.

This is some extremely valuable knowledge—but something that we all know is that knowledge isn’t power, it’s only potential power.

So how do we put this into practice?

To help you put this into practice, we’ve put together some journaling (aka “Scribing”) questions in the BYEB Mentors program for this particular session and copied them in the show notes and we suggest you put them into practice.

310: How to Solve the Biggest Problem Facing Humanity Today with Neale Donald Walsch

Podcast cover
Read more

I’m beyond excited to share this week’s podcast with you, as I have literally been waiting for over 20 years to talk with today’s guest!

In 1999, I read the book Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch for the first time, but it wouldn’t be the last. In fact, you’ll hear today about how that one book has positively impacted my life more than any other.

In Neale’s newest book, The Essential Path: Making the Daring Decision to Be Who You Truly Are, he explores how feelings of alienation have created a world in which it’s always “us against them” - and why it’s time to question our basic assumptions about ourselves and each other, about life and how it works, about God, and what humanity is, in order to transform our world for the better.

It is an honor to speak to Neale about the processes and the thinking that have inspired his work, the impact that he’s had on the world, and how we can each begin solving the biggest problem currently facing humanity.

Has Scribing (aka “Journaling”) transformed your life as it has mine? Needless to say, Scribing is a key part of the Miracle Morning S.A.V.E.R.S. and an incredible way to achieve breakthrough insights, solidify your commitments, experience more gratitude, and generate clarity and motivation on a daily basis.

Yanik Silver is living proof of this. As someone I’ve admired for over a decade, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on his latest creation: The Cosmic Journal, in which he presents a hand-written, self-illustrated space for you to clarify your purpose, determine your destiny, tap into the invisible forces of the universe (stick with me), and galactic instruction manual to help you re-remember your highest self.

Yanik is also the CEO of Maverick1000, a network of top entrepreneurs that assembles for breakthrough retreats, opportunities, and experience that to date has raised over $3 million for people in need by working with icons like Sir Richard Branson, Tony Hawk, Sara Blakely, Chris Blackwell, John Paul DeJoria, and Tim Ferriss.

Today, Yanik joins the podcast to share the story of the “cosmic alarm clock” moment that set him off on his cosmic journey, the process that led him to write the new book, and the breakthroughs we can achieve when we make journaling part of our daily routine.

308: The Power of Listening to Conscious Music with Drew Mcmanus

Podcast cover
Read more

What kinds of music do you prefer to listen to? Do you ever consider how that music – and specifically the lyrics – might be impacting your subconscious mind?

Personally, I used to listen to music based purely on the sound (see: hip-hop), and although I sang along (mindlessly), I typically didn’t pay much attention to the words I was singing, or the impact they might be having on my subconscious. For example, in high school, I regularly blasted rap music (such as Snoop Doggy Dogg and Dr. Dre) through the speakers of my parents 1979 Toyota family sedan that they let me drive. :^)

That was until a few years ago, when I discovered “conscious music.” What is conscious music? The word “conscious,” according to dictionary.com, means to “be aware of one’s own existence, sensations, thoughts, or surroundings.” So, conscious music would be that which enlightens one about the world around them. It is music that causes us to be aware of what’s going on and causes us to really think deepr about ourselves and our lives. Conscious music is typically music with a positive, purposeful message behind it.

Now, I prefer listening to music with positive, purposeful lyrics that inspire me to expand my consciousness, and to feel more love and gratitude in my life – and few artists have inspired those feelings in me like Drew McManus, lead singer of the band Satsang.

Satsang’s music and Drew’s lyrics leaves me feeling like I’m in a meditation session or in the presence of a spiritual guru.

Today, Drew joins the podcast to share the story of his journey to conscious music, as well as how he overcame addiction and burnout to create the best art of his life and connect with audiences all over the world.

307: The Most Important Lessons I Learned from Jim Rohn with Kyle Wilson

Podcast cover
Read more

Jim Rohn was one of my greatest mentors. He was a master of presenting complex ideas in an extraordinarily simple way, he was funny, and he had an incredible gift as a speaker and presenter. In fact, a single quote of his, “Your level of success will seldom exceed your level of personal development” was what inspired me to create the Miracle Morning.

For 18 years, his business partner was Kyle Wilson - the founder of Jim Rohn International and YourSuccess.com. He worked to promote Jim all over the world, built a following of over a million subscribers, published over 100 hours of CDs and DVDs, and then sold everything in 2007 to have more time with his children. Since then, Kyle has become the author of multiple #1 bestsellers and provides coaching and consulting through the Kyle Wilson Inner Circle Mastermind.

Today, Kyle joins the podcast to share lessons from his partnership with Jim. You’ll learn how Kyle took Jim from being owed almost half a million dollars to doing over 100 speaking engagements a year to audiences of over 25,000. You’ll also find out how to rethink sales to empower your clients and customers, and discover why Jim, unlike many masters of sales, rarely got upset about the small stuff - and why you shouldn’t either.

306: An Unconventional Approach to Modern Mindfulness with Cory Allen

Podcast cover
Read more

Making mindfulness part of your daily life, especially when you’ve never done it before, can be incredibly difficult. In fact, many beginners struggle to stick with it. They get distracted by their thoughts, think that they’re not good enough at meditation, and ultimately give up before experiencing the life-enhancing benefits that are available to all of us.

Cory Allen understands this well. He’s the host of the Astral Hustle podcast and author of Now Is The Way: An Unconventional Approach To Modern Mindfulness. In his book, he explores how to use mindfulness not as a means to chill out for a few minutes in the morning and at night, but a way to rewire and retrain your brain to be conscious and present all day long.

Today, Cory joins the podcast to share what he’s learned from his countless conversations with leaders at the forefront of mindfulness, neuroscience, and philosophy. You’ll discover how his book addresses the complexities of modern society, technology, and the internet, none of which existed 50 years ago when so many classic texts on meditation were written.
