Gregory Iron Interview

We are still under quarantine, but the 20x20 continues to push forward. This week, Peter chats with our first two time (two time) guest, Gregory Iron. Greg is a lifelong wrestling fan, an independent wrestler and host of the Iron On Wrestling podcast, so you know that he has a million stories and ton of opinions that he is never shy to share with the world.  We try to take bits from his show and our show and make a cohesive conversation. Topics include: Bobby Shields; #icp4hof; Joey Janela; Dino Bravo's contribution to our childhoods; fixing yourself during the pandemic; wrestling twitter showing their chubs at night; FMK on Greg's favorite restaurants, the unfortunate releases by WWE this past week; Dennis Rodman in WCW; name-dropping all of Greg's friends like Johhny Gargano and Steve Austin, and much, much more.  Greg is all over social media. You can find him specifically on Twitter and Instagram. His podcast, Iron On Wrestling (which is on Apple, Spotify and all podcast platforms) can also be found on Twitter and IG. There is also a Patreon and a PWTees store, if you want to support the best of brothers. -------------------------------------------- Social Media: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram - @20x20pod Email us at 20x20Pod@gmail.com. Starrcast 3 - Discussions and DeRosa; Boom Boom and The Bad Boy

Last week, the 20x20 Crew visited Starrcast 3 in Chicago, IL. Four days of travel, big time shows, meet and greets and everything that has to do with wrestling. There is simply too much to put into the description this week, so you just have to listen! This is different than our usual episodes in the sense that it is a "clip show" with various interviews and segments with combinations of your favorite 20x20 characters like Peter, Chris, Steve, Babahootski Jacob, Rex and others ... but it also captures exactly what we want this podcast to be - you are a fly on the wall of a weekend of conversations. Literally, we recorded in the car on our way home. You're right there with us! In the car, at the table, in the hotel room... we are talking WITH you, not AT you. So sit back and enjoy the Starrcast weekend through our eyes Let's get into all of the people you will be hearing from on this episode: Marty DeRosa -  Twitter: Marty DeRosa and MartySarahPod  Colt Cabana - Twitter: Colt Cabana and IG: Colt CabanaFandu Belts - on the web at FanduBelts.com; Twitter: FanduBelts; IG: FanduBeltsJoey Janela - Twitter: Joey Janela and IG: Joey Janela.   Thank you to everyone who we interacted with over the weekend and to AEW, GCW and Conrad Thompson for creating a weekend that no fan will ever forget. -------------------------------------------- Social Media: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram - @20x20podWebsite: http://www.20x20pod.com Email us at 20x20Pod@gmail.com. Future Endeavored Fantasy Draft 2020

We are staying home, staying safe and living by the #StayHomeWatchWrestling mantra. This week, Peter and Chris are joined by Jacob and Corktown's Illest, Cousin Aaron. Unfortunately, many WWE superstars and talents were laid off last week, so we fantasy book where we'd like to see all these men and women go. Will we send the Good Brothers to Impact? Will Hawkins and Ryder scratch that itch in New Japan? Will No Way Jose dance his way to HorrorSlam? We book the towns from here to there and everywhere.   You know we veer off-topic if that topic doesn't satisfy you. Other things we touch on include: Aaron's WM36 thoughts; what we can binge-watch next (Wresting Society X or 205 Live perhaps); non-political issues of the day; Nitros and War Games from 1998; HOF talk, learning Polish and much more.  You will also hear us brainstorming ideas for new shirts, one of which is already on pre-order. Go to 20x20Apparel right now and get the #StayHomeWatchWrestling shirt. All profit will go right to No Kid Hungry. Stay home, be sports entertained, enjoy a cool new shirt and help a great charity. Current Product (The CP) Roundtable and 2019 Predictions

Welcome to the TENTH episode of the 20x20Pod. This episode is quite different than our previous nine. When we started this adventure, we wanted to be different and stay away from the day-to-day current happenings of the wrestling world. Well.....  Chris and Peter are joined in studio by the returning Cousin Aaron, the re-debut of Rex and the on-mic debut of Steve-O, along with a run-in by Baby Ivan. It started off as a discussion to make predictions for 2019, so we could go back in a year and see who could see most clearly into the future. However, too many voices and strong opinions about the ol' CP led to some deep-diving conversations that we did not expect. Who on the panel is not a fan of Seth Rollins? Who do we think can beat Okada, if anyone? Should Otis hold ALL the belts or just most of them? We try to stay away from such hard-hitting opinions and dirt-sheet nonsense, as the 20x20 Brand is all about fun and nonsense... but this is just a little glimpse into what we all like and why we watch this great sport of professional wrestling. This conversation brings up some good points and we will explore them deeper in future episodes. As always, you can take part in the fun. Send us an email, social media mention or yell at us from your rooftop. Use the hashtag #fivecount and we will find it. Let us know what you think will happen this year, or why you like wrestling in general.   -------------------------------------------- Social Media: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram - @20x20pod Email us at 20x20Pod@gmail.com. G1 29 Recap (aka The Ep. That Almost Wasn't)

This week, Chris is absent from the NJPW talk, so Peter and Jacob sit down in Studio C with long time listener and first time guest Rob to discuss the G1 29 Tournament. The best matches are broken down, sleeper favorites and overall MVPs are discussed along with our brackets and other nonsense statistics from the last six weeks of New Japan action. Also of note, this episode almost did not come out because of some editing issues, aka, Studio C is haunted. Or the 20x20 Spirits didn't want an episode to go out without Chris on it. So please excuse the sound being a little rougher than usual. Speaking of nonsense, there is more to discuss than just the G1. We jump right into shaming Jacob for not buying a beer for a young lady at a recent event. Other topics include picking Omega vs Cody, Dave Meltzer's love for handing out 5 stars, NXT vs AEW this fall and a sneak peak into Peter's watching of every Hell in a Cell match. Don't forget to look for us at Olde Wrestling on August 25 in Ohio, as well as at Starrcast 3, starting on August 29, just outside of Chicago. Tickets are still available for both. We'd love to see everyone stop by the 20x20 table and tell us your favorite era of Ric Flair or argue with us over ICP being in the HOF. -------------------------------------------- Social Media: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram - @20x20pod Email us at 20x20Pod@gmail.com. Your 2019 Review and 2020 Preview

Welcome back to the Podcast! It's a new year, and Peter and Chris are joined in studio by Jacob to discuss all things related to the world of professional wrestling in 2019. Feel free to follow along on the 20x20 Apparel Twitter feed from NYE where we also dug deep into our favorite bits of nonsense.  You want a preview of the nonsense we are talking about? We discuss things like... Jacob's Dry January. Eating at Chadd's Bistro. Peter's appearance on The Better Band Podcast. New organizations giving all of their top talent the titles right away. Who is ever going to beat The Fiend? Was Lana and Bob Lashley a WWE wedding or Jerry Springer cluster? And so much more. Maybe an Easter Egg regarding Muppets.  We will be appearing at Astronomicon 3 (February 7-9) and Olde Wrestling (March 28). Please see the websites and follow our socials for more details. -------------------------------------------- Social Media: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram - @20x20pod Email us at 20x20Pod@gmail.com. What's Your Era? (fka 'Favorite Era')

This week, Peter and Chris sit down with Jacob to kick-start a new segment originally called "Favorite Era," but was quickly renamed, "What's Your Era?" As quick as the name changed, the rules also changed to the dismay of one of your hosts. In a nut shell - a wrestler is named and everyone recalls what their most prominent and/or favorite era for that wrestler is. If the wrestler is Ric Flair... Peter may recall his 89 run in NWA, Chris would discuss his 92 Rumble win and Jacob would say, "Is that the old guy in Evolution?" Such disrespect. This will be a reoccurring bit for us, and it is the ultimate glimpse into things that we discuss when we are in a car or hanging around and watching wrestling, just like you and your friends.  Speaking of disrespect, Peter and Chris hammer Jacob for talking ill of Harley Race. Other "off the rail" topics include our feelings on the G1 29 tournament, what our favorite sauces at KFC are, recent business meetings and Peter's emotional issues with them, why Chris (still) wants WrestleMania on a Saturday, a recap of last episode's Gimmick Match list and much much more! As always, you can take part in the fun. Send us an email, social media mention or a note in a bottle. Use the hashtag #fivecount and we will find it. Favorite Current Announcers (and more)

This week, Chris, Peter and Jacob are under quarantine! So this is the first remote-version of the podcast. Please excuse our dust as we make our way through this.   This week, we have a few topics. We cover the Madness Brackets over on the 20x20Apparel twitter, cataloging the best theme songs of all time. We also get into some WrestleMania predictions! And of course, we have a #fivecount, talking all about our favorite current announcers. Did we miss someone? Do you have a top five list? Find us on social media and use #fivecount, or drop us an email with your list or voice memo.    Don't worry, we don't just talk announcers and COVID-19. Other topics that interrupt our train of thought include: delayed ideas for the 20x20 web store, 1998 War Games, Tiger King and Joe Exotic, paranormal activity and much much more.  -------------------------------------------- Social Media: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram - @20x20pod Email us at 20x20Pod@gmail.com. Hell In A Cell 2017 Watch-Along (BONUS)

It's time for another BONUS episode! Aka, an apology for abandoning our friends and fans for a few weeks. In honor of the October WWE PPV tradition, we are watching Hell in a Cell from the LCA in Detroit, MI. There are two HIAC matches from the show, but we are going with the New Day vs The Usos for the Smackdown tag titles. Should be a good one! If you have the WWE Network, you can follow along with us (as best you can, because we were fighting a lagging issue with the updated app and it's probably.... not even close to being synced up).     If you can't listen and watch with us... don't worry! We barely talk about the match so you will enjoy our nonsense whether you watch along or not. We talk about the wild weekend we had around the PPV, including the XICW show at Cobo, the Bruce Prichard/Jim Cornette show at St Andrews and almost falling asleep during the PPV. Non-wrestling topics include troubles parking downtown when the Lions are at home, Michigan football woes (reoccurring theme), the movie marathon for CLF on November 1-2 and much more. Sit back, relax and we hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoy talking about our memories from this huge weekend in 20x20 history. If you are a fan of movies and wanted more info on the Movie Marathon at the EMagine Novi on November 1-2, please visit https://leukemiamichigan.org/movie-thon/ for more details.     -------------------------------------------- Social Media: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram - @20x20pod Email us at 20x20Pod@gmail.com. Money In The Bank (WM23) Watch-Along (BONUS)

Bonus Episode from your (every other) Tuesday Noon Titans! Still on a high from the Money in the Bank weekend, Chris, Peter and Jacob decided to stay late in the studio and watch the MITB match from WrestleMania 23 in Detroit. Just like our Rumble episode, this one is a little bit of a drinking game... so pour a tall beverage of your choosing, cue up The Network and play along. Mini ladder? Take a drink. Outside interference? Drink. Broken ladder? Multiple finishers? That spot where two guys are on the ladder and another pushes them off and they crotch on the ropes? Drink drink drink. Of course, there is more to talk about then just the match, so even if you cannot watch along, there is enough nonsense to keep you entertained, like the run-in by Danielle, who gives her expert opinions on the world of wrestling (and her review of the Paige movie) and the bonus bonus of us watching the cash-in match(es).  As always, you can take part in the fun. Send us an email, social media mention or smoke signal. Use the hashtag #fivecount and we will find it. "Supercop" Dick Justice (Olde Wrestling 2019)

This week, 20x20 was at Olde Wrestling in Norwalk, OH. We ran into some of our old friends and we met a new friend by the name of "Supercop" Dick Justice. We were fortunate enough to chat with Officer Justice for a few minutes about topics from Terry Funk and Grado... to Violent J and Jim Cornette... to coney dogs to Christmas trees. How do ANY of those tie together? You will have to listen and find out.   You can find Dick Justice on Twitter at @SupercopJustice and on IG at @SupercopJustice. He also has a PWT store where you can buy all his gimmicks. Big Labor Day sale this weekend on PWT. Or you can go to 20x20Apparel.com for the newest Mecca Tee, debuting this weekend. Royal Rumble Analytics

Welcome to a special edition of the Pod. Peter is flying solo this week, but he has Randy Sobel on the horn to discuss.... a little bit of everything.  Randy has created a spreadsheet [[Click here to see the PDF Version of the Rumble Analytics]] about the value of every wrestler who has ever been in a Royal Rumble. We like lists. We like Rumble Season! Seems like a perfect fit for the Pod. Randy is the host of the Live of 4 Legs Podcast, which dives into all things Pearl Jam. And this week, they have an interview with WWE HOFer and Pearl Jam superfan, Edge! Go check them out wherever you find your podcasts... after you catch up on ours!   Don't worry, we don't just talk Rumble Analytics and Pearl Jam... although we do for a lot of this episode. Other topics that interrupt our train of thought include: corporate names of stadiums that we can't remember; New York sports; Jeopardy categories; Jonathan Coachman; rebooking past Rumbles; booking the 2020 Rumble; Crown Jewel; Juggalo culture, and much much more.  We will be appearing at Astronomicon 3 (February 7-9) with special guests Allysin Kay and Marti Belle,  and Olde Wrestling (March 28). Astronomicon 3 Recap

This week, Chris, Peter and Jacob are back in the studio discussing the weekend at Astronomicon 3, Detroit's newest pop-culture convention that is out of this world! This was our third year there and of course we have stories. From no hot water in the hotel to drinking in the lobby with Brutus Beefcake; from the newest items for sale at the 20x20Apparel table to the items that we bought as we walked around the Con; from Alexa Bliss to the Plunger King and everyone in between - we've got you covered. We also hosted both Juggalo and Wrestling trivia sessions, so we deep dive into those. You can play along at home, so you have an idea of our mindset when we make these questions. Next year, it could be you holding that gold, silver or bronze trophy. Or it can be you in the crowd getting yelled at by us.   We will be appearing at Game Changer Wrestling on March 21,  and Olde Wrestling (March 28) where 20x20 will be sponsoring the main event of Matthew Cross vs Danhausen. Please see the websites and follow our socials for more details. Scream Prints (art by Steve Jencks) was talked about on this episode and we didn't have the name handy. Most Patriotic Moments in Wrestling History - #fivecount

Another episode, another Five Count. In honor of Independence Day, Peter and Chris sit down with "Babahootski" Jacob to discuss the most memorable patriotic moments, wrestlers and promos in history. We kick things off debating if this is even politically correct topic and then dive right into it. So crack a beverage, grab a hot dog and celebrate America with us. And check our 20x20 YouTube Playlist to see some of the moments that we discuss. Or dig on The Network or other sources for some more videos regarding the US of A in wrestling.  Don't worry - we stray off-topic for a few moments as well, if talking all USA isn't your cup of tea (we are looking at you, our British listeners). Witness the most bleeps in 20x20 Pod history, mostly from Young Boy Jacob saying inappropriate, non-PC things, as well as a record-amount of coughs and throat-clearings from Chris (he claims he was getting choked up). We also touch on the lineage of the NWA/WCW title, things we have been watching as of late (like the And Then There Was King video from AAW) and you may even hear one of us singing if you listen to the very end. All of this nonsense and much more, as you have come to expect from the 20x20 crew. As always, you can take part in the fun. Send us an email, social media mention or a note attached to a bottle rocket. Use the hashtag #fivecount and we will find it. Let us know what your favorite patriotic moments in wrestling are, and if you think we should invite Jacob back onto the pod ever again after his outbursts. -------------------------------------------- Social Media: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram - @20x20pod Email us at 20x20Pod@gmail.com.
