Episode 99 Transcription!

This is Juli Bauer from PaleOMG and you are listening to PaleOMG Uncensored.

Juli Bauer: Hello. Happy Saturday, or whatever day you're listening to this on. I am sitting on the couch. I just got down on some lesser evil; they’re like sweet Himalayan salt popcorn. I don’t know why; going to the grocery store is so f*cking dangerous when you're hungry. Because I know I cannot handle having popcorn in the house. I can’t handle it. I do just fine with popcorn; I don’t have any gastrointestinal distress from it. But, I can’t stop eating it. And I even put it in a bowl.

You know when you're like; ok. I’ll put it in a bowl, and I’ll only eat this much. But then you go back to the bag. What was the point of even putting it in a fcking bowl? Well, I put it in a bowl and then went back for more. And I’m just so full. And you have to eat a lot of fcking popcorn to get so full. Too full, man. But, you know, that’s what happens.

Can I just say; I just have the Food Network on. It’s just on mute with all the commercials playing. Have you guys ever watched Kids Baking Show. Baking, I don’t fcking know. I just literally saw the commercial. I love that show. It is the most innocent thing. I don’t even like kids. And this show is just so innocent. Because it’s just kids being nice to each other. And wanting to do their best, but helping each other out. So if somebody is not going to finish in time, someone will go over there and help them finish their dessert. It’s the cutest thing ever. And nobody is talking sht about each other. Nobody is being mean to each other. I just love it.

I haven’t watched Bachelor in Paradise this season; which I always watch every season. But I feel like I was finally; I got to the point where I’m like; ok, who has time to watch this? I don’t have time. Two hours? And what was the finale, like 3 hours? Of just bullsh*t. And then Bachelor in Paradise comes on and I’m traveling. And once I’m home, I want to hang out with my husband without him hating me. So that means not watching Bachelor things. And now I’m like; isn’t Bachelor in Paradise like 4 hours a week?

I don’t know. My husband is not supposed to be home very early today. He has a golf tournament or something. So I maybe will watch it then. But then it’s like; I could watch The Office, instead. But I feel almost sad that I’m kind of breaking up with the Bachelor. I’m sure I’ll be back. It always hooks me back in.

Anywho. I’m back here in Denver. Back home with my puppy dog. Last week I was in Montreal recording the podcast. And this week, I am home. And it feels so freaking good. I love being home. I don’t know about you, but it’s my favorite. I love getting my regular workouts in. I love eating my own home cooked food. I love being at home. I love not having to be around a ton of people. I’m just very much by myself kind of person. It’s surprising that I’m even married. Because I’m so into being by myself.

But, it feels so good to be home. I don’t travel for another month. I’m going to travel to Lake Tahoe next. I’m going to be with my girlfriends, Joy and Clare, of Girls Gone WOD. And we’re going to this podcast event, where all these people podcast together. I don’t f*cking know; I’m just showing up with a ton of people I don’t know. And I should know,

Well hey there buttercup baby. Welcome to another episode of PaleOMG Uncensored. Before I get started with the amazing Miranda, I’ve got to tell you about something that’s super rad. This month’s sponsor. And this month’s sponsor is something I use daily. Every single day I’m using it. It’s Butcher Box. If you haven’t heard me talk about Butcher Box; come on. Get with the program. Follow me on Instagram, man! I talk about it every single day there. Because it is a product I use every single day. Instead of going to the grocery store and trying to decipher through all the different labels out there nowadays, Butcher Box takes that out of the equation.

They find high quality grass-fed and pastured raised meat, and they source it so you can get it straight to your doorstep. They get the best quality beef, chicken, and pork that is humanely raised, and it’s free of antibiotics and hormones. And then all you have to do is open that box up; everything is frozen, put it in your freezer. And then you can cook it as you go. It’s so easy.

So all you have to do is log onto their website. You just select your box. You customize it to your liking, and then you set your schedule of how often you want to receive your Butcher Box. They offer free shipping to the contiguous 48 states, and each classic box is filled with 8 to 11 pounds of meat. And they also launched their custom box. So customers can actually choose everything that comes in their box. So if you only want chicken, do that. If you only want breakfast sausage; I get it. I love breakfast sausage. I just ordered a ton of breakfast sausage in my next box. You can do that. So you can choose exactly what you want. And say you have an event coming up and you want filet mignon, you can trade those things out. You can add on; it’s awesome.

And right now they’re offering PaleOMG Uncensored listeners an awesome discount. You can get $10 off your first order plus two free grass-fed grass finished ribeyes. That’s all you have to do, go to ButcherBox.com/PaleOMG and figure out what box is perfect for you. Again, that’s ButcherBox.com/PaleOMG. And you’ll get $10 off your first order and two free ribeyes. This company is awesome, guys. I’m so lucky to get to work with them. And if you want to support the podcast, and support me,

Well hey there darlin face. Welcome to another episode of PaleOMG Uncensored. Before I get started with today’s very lovely guest, I’ve got to tell you what happened on the blog this week; in case you missed any of it. Of course you didn’t. You went to www.PaleOMG.com every single day, right? No? Ok cool. Well, let’s do a little review. Because I think it was a fun time this week.

Monday morning, I shared my weekly workouts. Where I talk about not playing the victim. Because you know how all of us were like; I always have this going on, I can’t work out. I have this going on. And we just put ourselves in the victim place. Does that make sense? No? Just go read. I talk about it there.

Then I have two new recipes for you guys. I have pumpkin spice baked granola bars, and I have Mexican pumpkin soup. So I’m obviously a little obsessed with pumpkin. Because I have another pumpkin recipe coming next week. A little annoying, but it’s ok, ok? Because it’s really delicious. Pumpkin spice granola bars are delish, but the Mexican pumpkin soup you need to go make right now. And don’t use canned pumpkin. Don’t. I’m telling you, don’t do it. Use a real roasted pumpkin. I promise you, it is worth the extra effort. And it’s really no effort; you cut the pumpkin in half and you bake it. It’s literally the easiest thing ever.

And then I have a beauty and makeup products post. I’m talking about my recent skincare routine. I’m talking about my favorite products. And I have a video. Which, videos make everything more fun, right? Right.

And then I’m talking about New Years’ Eve. I know it’s super early, but wait. Just, hear me out. I’m not super excited about Thanksgiving. Because I’ve already made all the Thanksgiving food for you guys. So I’m not that excited about it. Christmas this year, we are not really celebrating because we’re going to go to Mexico for New Years’. Ok, so I’m not really even caring about Thanksgiving and Christmas. They’re not on my radar. So I’m just thinking about New Years’ at this point. And so, I’m sharing a New Years’ Eve look in the blog.

I get it. It’s too early. Believe me, I was in a miniskirt in 30-degree weather, so yeah I get it. It’s too early. But just look at the outfit. Try it on for size. And I’m sharing a discount too, for that outfit. $25 off your $100 order. Discounts galore!

And wait. Before I let you go, and before I introduce our guest, I have something extremely special coming to the blog on Tuesday. I created my own product, and I am so incredibly excited, and I’m starting to sweat thinking about it because I’m very nervous. But it’s coming to the blog on Tuesday. It’s 7:30 in the morning. It’s coming to the blog Tuesday, and I want you guys to check it out. So all you have to do is go to www.PaleOMG.com on Tuesday,

Episode 92 Transcription!

You know what time it is. It’s time to talk about one of my favorite sponsors; Sun Basket. Sun Basket makes eating fresh and delicious meals every single night easier than ever. With Sun Basket, you can have a healthy meal on the table in under 30 minutes. There’s no compromising with your own health goals when you have easy to cook meals that are delivered right to your door step.

With Sun Basket, they deliver organic and clean ingredients with 18 healthy options to choose from every single week. They work with the best farms and suppliers to bring you fresh and organic produce, and responsibly raised meats and seafood. And everything is premeasured and easy to prep. Everything I’ve made for myself has taken under 30 minutes, and clean up is a breeze because everything comes in these little tiny containers that you can just recycle away.

I get the paleo option from Sun Basket, but they also have gluten free, lean and clean, vegan, Mediterranean, family options, and more to suit anyone’s lifestyle. This week, in my own Sun Basket box, I tried the TexMex Turkey Skillet, with green chilies and avocado, and then the one-pan salmon with creamy citrus dressing and stone fruit snap pea salad. They were both so good, and even though both of those are a mouthful, they still took under 30 minutes, and cleanup was so easy.

I love cooking these meals, because even though I cook all the time at home, this gives me inspiration in my own kitchen, and reminds me of some of the fruit and veggies that I forget to pick up at the store, because maybe I just don’t think they’re my favorite. And then I try one of Sun Basket meals, and I’m reminded that all fruits and vegetables are so good. Except for eggplant. Eggplant is gross. {laughs}

But don’t let your busy summer get in the way of your healthy goals. Sun Basket is so convenient, and they will make eating healthy in your own household easier than ever. All you have to do is go to SunBasket.com/PaleOMG today. You can learn more there, and get $35 off your first order.

Juli Bauer: Well howdy. Welcome to another episode of PaleOMG Uncensored. I think we’re at episode 68. Going strong. I’m only saying this because I just now thought of it, because I was just recently listening to another podcast who talked about it; and I just never talk about this. And I should ask more often. I’m going to simply ask you if you like this podcast, to rate and review and make sure to subscribe. And if you don’t like this podcast, please still leave a 5-star review.

Is that rude? Is that needy? I don’t know. I hear it’s important. And who knows how podcasts will change over time. But if you like this podcast and you listen to it weekly, or you're just coming into it and you like it, just leave a nice review. Don’t put negativity out in the world, because negative people suck big balls! But if you feel like being positive. I’m going to stop. It’s so annoying. I shouldn’t have even started with that. Erase. Go back. No thanks.

Let’s just talk about life instead. I am gearing up to go to Crested Butte tomorrow. Which is like 4.5 hours from Denver, or so, depending on the weather. I really should check the weather. Since I’m leaving tomorrow and still haven’t packed.

But I needed to shoot some photos in the mountains, and so I just decided to make a whole trip of it, and take my sister-in-law, who helps me with photos a lot. Take her. And make a whole weekend. And then do a blog post about Crested Butte. So go do something fun in town. Go to a bunch of restaurants. Because what else do you do when you travel?

People are like; what did you do while you were in town? I ate, you dummy. What else do you do when you're traveling? I don’t care about anything else. I care about a craft cocktail and food. Period. But we’re staying at a hotel up there. It should be fun.

So my husband and I are supposed to have a date night tonight before I leave. I leave him back at home. But I still haven’t even packed. I’ve got sh*t to do, man! Damn. Right now I have a dog on my lap. Who is on a diet.

We went to the vet just the other day, and he should be around 38 pounds, and he is 41. And the vet said she wanted him at 38. So it’s pretty devastating. Because I’m very much a one for me, one for you kind of person. I like sharing food. I like how excited he gets about food, because I feel the exact same way. But, he’s been snoring a little bit more, and that could have to do with him being slightly overweight. So he’s on a diet. It’s so sad. We cut his food down by half. And it is not a one for me one for you situation right now. That’s sad. But it’s ok, we’ll get through it together.

So anyway. Thanks so much for listening. Oh my god, I just noticed my couch cushions are upside down. How humiliating! What a mess. Anywhoo. I wanted to do another listener question episode.

Finding Your Own Confidence – Episode 13: PaleOMG Uncensored Podcast

Podcast cover
Read more
Happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is absolutely lovely and not painfully cold like it's going to be here in Colorado. I'm so not into it. And don't tell me not to complain - I'm a Colorado native, I earned my complaints!

Anywho, let's talk about confidence. I thought this was a great topic to go over because it's something that I struggled with for a long time. About 23+ years. And working in a gym and online with many, many women, I often see other women struggle with it as well. So I thought this would be the best platform to really talk about what I struggled with and how I pushed through those negative thoughts. And I think it's good to remember that confidence is ever-evolving as we grow and change!
Here's a quick run down of what has worked for me (listen to hear full details and I'll have it transcribed soon!):

Ridding myself of the relationships that created negative experiences and negative energy and bringing positive relationships into my life
I stopped looking at magazines and certain social media that made me feel insecure. It wasn't other people's fault I had those feelings, but I had to recognize how I felt and why and face the changes I had to make
Finding CrossFit, lifting, and competing in CrossFit
Stopped comparing myself to others
Faced my own inner demons
Stopped obsessing over food
Stopped competing in CrossFit when it was no longer making me happy
Stopped caring what others thought of me since I like me!
And I stopped obsessing over the little things that were meaningless

Those are the things that made me the happiest person I've ever been in the last 4 or so years. And I hope just thinking through those things and thinking about what truly makes you happy and acting on it, gets you to your happiest place in your life! Listen to the podcast then let me know if you have any questions or if I missed yours! Thanks for asking all your questions, I have so much fun answering them and they make the podcast way more exciting!

This is Juli Bauer from PaleOMG and you are listening to PaleOMG Uncensored.

Juli Bauer: Well good morning! I don’t know what time of day you’re listening to this; and I don’t know why I’m saying good morning, because it’s 5:15 p.m. on a Friday night here. But you know what; it’s been a busy f*cking day, so I’m going to call it morning. Because that just sounds really nice. You know what does not sound really nice? I’ll tell you what. My best friend; my maid of honor; she’s the best girl in the whole wide world. Literally the f*cking best. Her birthday is tomorrow, on Saturday. And you know what she decides? She decides that she wants everyone to run a 5K for her birthday. Take a second to think about that. That’s f*cked up. Ok, that’s f*cked up.

I always say I hate running. I don’t hate running, I just don’t like to do it for long bouts of time over a mile. It’s just really boring to me. I don’t want to f*cking just keep my legs moving. Not interested. But she’s all into trail running. Does marathon; whatever they're called, triathlons, just that kind of sh*t. gross, whatever. So she wants to run a 5K for her birthday; cool, I’ll run a 5K. I’ll do whatever you need me to. The problem is; tomorrow, in Colorado, it’s going to be negative; the race is at 11. It’s going to be -1 degrees outside; or is that degree; degree? No plural. -1 degree. Oh, she’s texting me right now. Whatever Laura.

So we’re going to be running a 5K because it has not been canceled yet. In -1 degree weather. What the f*ck? Why can’t she just be normal? Why can’t we go to brunch, get buzzed on a Saturday afternoon? Do what normal people do on their birthday? So disappointed in her.

This is Juli Bauer from PaleOMG and you are listening to PaleOMG Uncensored.

Juli Bauer: Hello, good morning. I’m saying hello to you from Houston, Texas. I’m sitting in my hotel room right now, on the bed, looking out at downtown Houston. I’m staying at Le Meridien. Which has been lovely. It’s so modern, and they have super cool artwork all over the place. The only thing I have to complain about is you have to pay for Wi-Fi. Why do hotels do that? I’m sure there’s a great reason behind it that I will never understand, nor care to. Because I’m paying like $35 in Wi-Fi fees. No joke. Isn’t that bananas?

Plus, I always buy internet on flights. And United Wi-Fi is pretty expensive. It’s like $15 for your flight, if not more. That’s a lot of Wi-Fi fees. But you’ve got to get that work done. You can’t not have Wi-Fi. My job is literally Wi-Fi.

Anyway. That’s such an annoying thing to complain about, right? I’m the worst. But, it’s like the 21st century. Isn’t there Wi-Fi everywhere? Shouldn’t we just have Wi-Fi as we’re walking down the street? Can’t you put Wi-Fi into my flight price? I guess not everybody uses the Wi-Fi? But, just plug it into everybody’s. Everybody would. Right? I don’t know. Maybe I’m just a b*tch.

So, being here in Houston. In Denver, it’s dry as fck all the time. Your face is just painfully dry. Your lips are dry. Everything is just awful and dry. And so you age faster. It’s quite annoying. But, here in Houston, in Texas, everywhere in Texas, it is humid as fck. And what’s funny is right now it’s not even humid. It’s been like 90-95 degrees, and not that humid based on the news I’ve been watching here. They’re like; don’t worry, the humidity is coming.

You can choose from all kinds of different options. I choose the paleo option. They also have gluten free, lean and clean, vegan, Mediterranean, family options, and even more to suite anyone’s lifestyle. This week in my box, I tried the speedy steak salad with summer squash and red pepper vinaigrette. I was able to make it in no time flat, since it only had about 7 ingredients. It was so freaking easy.

And this week, they had super delicious looking vegetarian options that made me actually want to try the vegetarian options, which is obviously not like me. But they had a chickpea paella and portobello burgers that looked so freaking good. And I may think about trying the vegetarian option. But I don’t know guys; I don’t know.

In the back of the recipe booklet, I just noticed they had simple dip recipes. So you can make your own snacks at home; it’s such a cool idea that they give you just a little bit extra in their recipe booklet. Don’t let the busy summer get in the way of your healthy goals. Sun Basket is so convenient, and they will make eating healthy in your household easier than ever. Siete has three different kinds of grain-free tortilla chips including sea salt, lime and nacho and the chips are made simply with simple ingredients like cassava flour, avocado oil, coconut flour, ground chia seed, sea salt, and citric acid. And their bags are puffed to perfection so even the last chip you have at the bottom of the bag is still a full chip, instead of a crumbled mess like most chips. Episode 80 Transcription!

This week’s podcast is brought to you by Siete. Siete is a healthy Mexican-American food brand that makes grain free and paleo friendly tortillas and tortilla chips. They are a brand I talk about every week, because they’re constantly in my freezer, fridge, and pantry. I’m always making tacos, tostadas, nachos, or I’m just eating the chips. You know what I’ve done? I’ve even put peanut butter and jelly on their tortillas. I love them.

And I just made a new recipe for the blog. My pork belly tacos with their coconut cassava tortillas. They are my favorite, and I have them weekly for taco Tuesday for family dinner in our house.

Anywho. If you don’t know about Siete, it was created by the Garza family, which is made up of 7. Siete. Get it? When Veronica, one of the kids, who I actually interviewed on a podcast back in episode 60 when she was diagnosed with multiple autoimmune conditions, she began cooking with new ingredients, and the family all came together to support her new diet and lifestyle. And the more they loved and enjoyed her creations, the more they knew they needed to share it with the world. And that’s how Siete brand came to be.

Siete has different kinds of grain free tortilla chips, including sea salt, lime, and nacho. And the chips are made from cassava flour, avocado oil, coconut flour, ground chia seed, sea salt, citric acid, and lime oil. And their bags are puffed to perfection. Even the last chip at the bottom of the bag is still a full chip. It’s so freaking awesome. It’s so annoying when you open most tortilla chip bags and all of it is just a crumbled mess. What am I supposed to put that in? You think I’m going to dip with that, you bastards? {laughs} That sounded like the Office. I’ve been watching too much of the Office.

Anyway. Their products are the best, because they’re made from the best people. They’re a brand I’m lucky to call my friends. I know many of the people on the team. I’ve visited their office. They’re just the best. Follow them on Instagram in their Instagram stories, because they’re hilarious, and they make food so much more fun.

And right now, Siete would like to offer PaleOMG Uncensored liste...

Why Having Kids Scares The Crap Out of Me – Episode 10: PaleOMG Uncensored Podcast

Podcast cover
Read more
Ever since I got married...no scratch that...ever since I got engaged, I'm constantly bombarded with questions from others if we are going to have kids or WHEN we are going to have kids. And every single time that topics is brought up to me, I instantly start sweating and get anxiety. It's not a topic I take lightly. I don't just say to myself, "Yeah, let's have kids! That will be so fun and everything will be great!" No. I think through that kind of stuff. Because kids are forever. They don't just go away. They rely on you to raise them, to wipe their bums, to help them become upstanding citizens. And at 28 years old, I'm just not ready for someone else to rely on me. That may be selfish, but I think selfish is the best thing to be until you are truly ready to become a selfless person who puts yourself second. And I'm just not there.
When I decided to make this a podcast episode, I wrote out a pros and cons list to having a baby. So here's the quick rundown.

Pros

My husband would be an awesome father

Cons

You have to grow a child inside of you then birth it - and all the body and gross stuff that goes with it. I've worked very hard to become comfortable with who I am and how I physically look and it's scary to lose some of that
Fertility issues - I've seen so many friends go through it and it looks so incredibly challenging both mentally and physically
Financially - children are expensive AF. Finally being able put money into a retirement account and feel more stable for the future is so great and it's scary to let some of that go.
You don't get to sleep much with children

Lack of sleep leads to a tough relationship with your partner
Lack of sleep leads to issues with cortisol which can lead to weight issues
Lack of sleep just really sucks
Less working out

I know this is a sketchy subject, I have just seen most of the people I know who used to workout religiously just not care as much about working out anymore. When they have the choice of working out or going home to their child, they obviously want to see their children. I know you can make it work, I just so often see people do the opposite, so that scares me.
Changes to your relationship

I don't personally know any people whose relationship has gotten stronger since they had children.
Stress to the relationship and different opinions about disciplining your children
I work all the time and my husband does too - not sure how we would change that. Because I don't want to work less and I don't think he could. Which leads to more financial stress to hire a nanny.
It’s your duty to raise an upstanding citizen, while not knowing what the hell you’re doing yourself.

What if you raise a serial killer?
What if they get in with the wrong crowd?
What if they don't get their sh*t together and live with you FOREVER?!
I know this comes off as a really pessimistic way to look at things, but I'm just being realistic about it. I think it's smart to think through these things because so often people just have children and the children aren't raised in the best environment. I want to feel ready, be ready, and have way less on my cons list. I think more people should really think this sh*t out. Think how different our world would be if they did.

At the end of the day, who knows if I'll someday want children. If I don't, I think I will have an awesome life. If I do, I think I'll have an awesome life. But in the meantime, I just want to hang out with my husband, save money, and do cool sh*t. But next time you're about to ask a person if they are planning to have kids, remember that they may be going through these things that I listed above and it may not be something they want to talk about with you, let alone think about. So think before you ask.
Next week is another random questions episode so if you have any questions you'd like answered, no matter what the topic is, let me know!

So how’s it going? Right now, I’m on the couch. I’m looking at the dog, who has completely made a next on the top of the couch cushion. So I’ll be sitting. So my left side is up against the couch cushions. Like my feet are laid out. We have an L-style couch. So my left arm is digging into this couch cushion. And every since Jackson, months ago, decided to make this his new favorite spot, I have shoulder issues, because the couch cushion presses into my shoulder, puts me in a weird position.

And I feel like everybody is always like; oh, CrossFit causes injuries. No, it’s my couch cushion that causes injuries. Which are enhanced by physical activity. That has nothing to do with this podcast. I feel like this podcast is going to be a hodgepodge of information. Which I guess it usually is. I feel like I’ve wanted to do more interviews, but number one I have not had time. Number two, I don’t know who I want to record. I want to record with my friend, Jennifer, from Predominantly Paleo. Because she’s adorable. But I want to go outside of paleo and into other places. But I just can’t think of who I want that to be.

I don’t know. I don’t know. Before we get talking about the important things, like Crested Butte. Which was a beaut. It really was a beaut. Obsessed. I want to talk about the Bachelor going on right now. And of course, you can skip this part. But you shouldn’t. Because the Bachelor is here, and it’s here to stay. I was listening to a podcast the other day. I was listening to Barbell Shrugged podcast. Because it had Brett Contreras. I think I said his name right. The glute guy on Instagram who I just started following, because a bunch of people recommended him for butt workouts.

So I started following this guy, and I listened to his podcast episode on Barbell Shrugged. They were kind of talking about CrossFit. And he said something along the lines of; he hates that when his clients talk sht about CrossFit. Because he’s like; where do you think it’s going to go? Do you think you're just going to talk sht about it and it’s going to disappear? It is here to stay. And just so you know, Bachelor is here to stay. And you can hate it, because that’s 100% fair. And you're right. But you might as well just accept it.

My husband tried to accept it this past week. He found out that my sister-in-law and I just make fun of it the whole time we watch it. He was like; oh, I didn’t know you made fun of it. I’ll watch it. I thought it was serious. I’m like, of course it’s not serious. Obviously, you haven’t read my blog in at least four years, you motherfcker. But I do recaps every Tuesday on the blog. And it’s the best part of our week. We get to talk sht.

But I am a week behind on the blog,

Exercise & Over-Exercising – Episode 3: PaleOMG Uncensored Podcast

Podcast cover
Read more
I always believed calories in-calories out when it came to weight loss and weight management. But after competing in CrossFit, limiting my caloric intake, and working out multiple times per day - I finally figured out that was not the case. My body was inflamed and yearning for more carbohydrates and less exercise. But I was too addicted to exercise to see the full picture. My workouts began to suffer and my body continued to progress into a constant state of stress. There was no recovery in my life and my body began to show it.

It wasn't until I gave up competing, gave in to more rest days and started feeding my body properly that I began to see results. I slept longer at night, I slowly began to lose weight and the inflammation in my body reduced, I listened to what exactly my body was craving and ate those things, and I became a much MUCH happier person.

I had no balance in my life for so many years. I would either completely limit my food intake or eat everything in sight. I would not workout at all or workout multiple times per day. I would completely hate everything about myself and constantly talk down to myself instead of putting good energy out into the world. It was a really negative times, that lasted for about 24 years.

I'm saying all this because I see so many other people go through it as well. Thinking they need to starve themselves or just workout more instead of looking at the big picture: workout regularly, take rest days, eat well, stress less, sleep more, and be kind to yourself. It's amazing how much your body will thank you when you follow those few things.

If you guys have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them below. And if you have any recommendations for podcast topics, feel free to leave them in the comment section below or reach out to me on social media. I put this podcast together for you guys so I'm here to share whatever you want to hear about! Next week, I'll be covering paleo on a budget!

Episode 3 Transcription:

Juli Bauer: Hello! Hello everyone out there. Welcome to the PaleOMG Uncensored podcast. I feel as though I need to start introducing myself, since I haven’t done that in the past two. I’m just really getting my shoes on; getting going. Whatever the hell that means.

Last week, I had a bunch of you, thankfully, let me know that I suck and I need to suck less by writing down kind of an overview of what my topic is going to be so I don’t get lost. Because I tend to do that. But I will get lost, even though I have an awesome overview planned out; I’m just letting you know ahead of time.

Anywho. Today we are going to be talking about exercise and over-exercise. Ooh, what a fun topic. I have done both in my life, so I want to kind of tell my story about that. I always thought calories in, calories out. So if I was eating a certain amount of calories, the more I worked out, the more weight I would lose, or the more muscle definition I would see. I always had this kind of belief in that. But we’ll get into that in a little bit.

I want to talk about kind of my history with exercise. If you’ve seen my Instagram or my blog, every Monday I post what I did, when my rest days were. I also share once in a while what I ate in a day, and I give you free travel workouts and on-sale fitness apparel and new workout music, and sometimes I kind of just talk about motivational stuff; what’s kept me motivated and excited about exercise in the end. So, I’m just going to talk all about that. You can always find more details on www.paleomg.com every Monday if you want to know details about more exercise.

But first, let’s talk a little bit about history. Let’s go back in the books, guys.

Episode 5 Transcription:
This is Juli Bauer from PaleOMG and you are listening to PaleOMG Uncensored.

Juli Bauer: Hey there! It’s Juli, from PaleOMG. I hope you got that from the introduction going on there. There’s just a lot going on here at the PaleOMG household. I wonder if my husband finds it annoying when I say PaleOMG household. He doesn’t really read my blog, or listen to my podcast, or watch any of my videos, so he doesn’t even know.

Ok guys. Today we’re going to be talking about random questions. I was thinking every 5th episode, I did a random questions episode. But we’ll see how the first one goes. I started asking questions like a week ago, and the questions keep building up, so I’m hoping I’m covering everything, and they’re all over the place, today, guys. I asked on Instagram earlier today for random questions, and there were some interesting ones. Some ones I just cannot cover. I won’t say why, because then I’m going to be rude, I’m going to be a bitch, and I don’t want to be a bitch.

Wait; let’s go over some crazy stuff going on right now. So, I’ve been trying to film videos but we have construction going on at our house. We’re getting like a pathway lay from the front to the back of the house. And I don’t know if you’ve followed me for very long, but if you have, you saw that like 2 weeks before our wedding our sewer line collapsed, so we had to dig into our patio. So we’ve had this hole in our patio that’s just a mound of dirt,

While I was in Bali, I had my first ever astrology reading and it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. She nailed down what my childhood was like, my relationship with my mom, why I’m scared to have children, and even my job! And she also did the same for my husband. He was SUPER skeptical going in and left a complete believer. It was such an amazing experience so I’m recapping our entire hour session in this podcast episode. And what’s super cool is that you can book a skype call with her even if you’re not in Bali and want to experience her reading, too! Click here to head to her website and book an appointment. She changed my life in many ways already and she may do the same for you!
