Jim’s passion for guns came from his father, Jerry, who was a gunsmith when Jim was growing up. After high school, Jim attended Trinidad State Junior College in Colorado. He completed his degree in Gunsmithing in 1984. Afterward, he served a year apprenticeship in Kalispell, MT under three well known gun makers. In ’86, he went on his own to do contract work for Champlin Firearms in Enid, OK. While he was building his clientele, he met an English gunsmith, Jack Rowe, who fostered his desire to learn about shotguns. At which time he began competing in sporting clay competitions. A few years later, he moved to Kansas and started to focus more on shotgun stocks and now specializes in competition and hunting stocks. He has built a clientele of shooters from around the world. Now he travels and sets up shop at a few select locations a year building pattern stocks for his clientele. Currently, he is located outside Wichita, Kansas.

Dan served for many years in the US Army as a shooting instructor for the US Army Marksmanship Unit. Carlisle competed at the 1984 and 1988 Olympics, with a bronze medal in trap in 1984, and shooting both trap and skeet at the 1988 Seoul Games. He was a seven-time gold medalist at the Pan American Games, winning the individual trap title in 1975, 1983, and 1987. Dan won the 1982 World Championships in skeet shooting, but won more titles in trap. He was a six-time US Champion in trap, and in 1985-86, won both US titles in trap and skeet. Bill McGuire

Bill was born in Richmond, Indiana to a working-class family; his father worked in the Easton Gear Factory and was a church minister. His mother worked at the Richmond Baking Company and raised Bill, his three sisters and brother. At age 8, Bill started hunting and trapping with his father, where he developed his love for shooting and the outdoors. In fact, he still has the first .410 Western Field Side by Side that his father gave him. In 1989 Bill started a masonry company and worked as a brick mason for thirteen years. In 1996, while bricking a house, one of the carpenters asked if he had ever shot clay targets and if he would be interested in attending a local event. When the weekend rolled around, they went out and shot a round and he was hooked. Bill started shooting local tournaments then branched out to a few bigger events, and then in 2000 became a full-time shooter and instructor. Shooting a 32" Blaser F3 with Comp-n-Chokes and Clever ammunition, Bill continues to remain at the top of the field year after year.

He grew up shooting at his local club, River Road Sporting Clays, which was owned by Bruce Barsotti. “River Road in the decade of the 90's was truly one of the elite sporting clubs in the country hosting countless State and Zone tournaments along with very early American FITASC competitions such as the Pan American and National FITASC. River Road was also the site of the 1996 NSCA US Open and the first club to throw what we now know as Super Sporting. I don't think I'd be the shooter I am today if I hadn't grown up around this specific gun club and been exposed to Bruce's target setting talents as he was definitely one of the premier setters in those days.” He competed heavily throughout his junior years (Jr was to 18 years old) and into the Open class until 2001, winning many accolades along the way. He didn't shoot at all from 2002-2004; as most can understand, lack of time and money got in the way. He lost both his Mom and Dad in these years and needed to work on getting his career underway. He worked in the vegetable industry in his hometown of Salinas, California. As he worked his way into better positions within the company he had more time and money to start again in his passion for competitive sporting clays in 2005. “In 2007 I had a life-changing conversation with my best friend one night. I was working full time, shooting on weekends, and only traveling to out-of-state competitions that my 3 weeks of vacation allowed. I was number 14 in All-American points that year and most of my shooting peers either worked in the industry, worked at gun clubs, or taught full time. My friend told me that the story of our lives should read like a book, and in the end would have many chapters. I thought about that statement and the following morning I decided to quit my job and embark on my journey as a full-time competitor and coach. I wasn't married, didn't have any children, and didn't have anything tying me down other than having a great job and friends. Kind of a scary decision. Not wanting to just jump head first to traveling to teach, I decided to move to Southern California and teach full time at Triple B Shotgun Sports Park owned by the Barsotti Family. I knew I needed to hone my craft and become a great "teacher" before marketing myself on a nationwide level. Triple B is the busiest gun club in America and allowed me to coach and learn to teach on countless competitive and novice shooters. As we all know, just because someone is a great shooter, doesn't mean they are an effective instructor or coach.” “Fast forward to 2012 and after getting better as both a competitor and coach I decided to move to Houston, Texas, the true ‘Mecca’ of American sporting clays. I found myself traveling extensively and knew I needed to live in a more central locale. Q&A with David Radulovich

Influenced by his father, Malcolm, Ben was introduced to shooting at an early age. It was intended as a father-son activity, which his father saw they could do together. Shooting would later become his career; it wasn’t something that he chose, but rather it chose him. After winning many competitions as a junior and giving others tuition from the age of 14, it was a career path in which Ben could clearly excel. On his first outing, he showed a natural flair for the sport. Ben enjoyed game and clay shooting equally, but through his other love of rugby, he found that the game season clashed with the football season, so he found himself more drawn to clays. As Ben progressed, he found that he enjoyed more of a variety of targets, not knowing what targets he would be presented and with the rules and regulations were too much in the trap disciplines, Ben was very well suited to sporting and FITASC. 1998 was one of his most successful years as a junior, winning the World Junior FITASC, World Junior Sporting and also the European FITASC championships; Ben showed his potential and was ready to take on the seniors. Ben’s greatest shooting moment was winning the World FITASC in 2006 and more recently the World Sporting in 2010. Ben is modest about his achievements but also credits his number one fan, his father, for his continued support, along with Brian Du Quesnay, and his many sponsors, because without them, his victories would not have been possible.

George Digweed MBE was born in Hastings, Sussex on 21 April 1964. He is a multi-World and European English sport shooter clay-shooting champion. Digweed started shooting at about the age of 12. Taken out by his grandfather he was given a .410 shotgun to shoot with. Due to his competitive attitude he decided to get involved in competitive shooting. Digweed’s first memorable competition win was the Home International Skeet Championships in 1986 at Melton Mowbray Gun Club. He became the first man ever to shoot ‘100 straight’ in a World Championship event and in October 2011, while being filmed for a programme for Fieldsports Channel TV and using standard cartridges, he broke a clay at 130 yards, breaking his own previous record set in America of 118 yards. Digweed won his 16th World Championship title at the World Sporting Championship in Texas, USA on 25 and 26 April 2009, an event created in 2007 to find out who is the best all-round Shooting Champion in the world. In 2009 he won the World Sporting Championship, the European Championship, the Mitsubishi World Series, the Pan African and the Italian Grand Prix. In July 2010, he became the first sportsman to win a world title in four different decades (the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s) when he won the FITASC World Championship. After college he took a job as the head instructor and sporting clays manager at the prestigious Nemacolin Woodlands Resort Shooting Academy. Michael spent five years there developing a dynamic approach to clay target shooting. Michael now works at Rocky Creek Sporting Clays as the Club Pro and Sporting Clays Director. Methods Taught: Michael’s primarily teaches sporting clays and wing shooting. Michael also teaches trap and skeet to multiple-time national champions SCTP Quail Creek Young Guns. Michael’s primary method of teaching is pull away. This allows the shooter to always be in control with the target as well as connected with the target. This technique uses core principles and is easy for anyone on any level to understand. Students will go home with worksheets and a practice schedule to help reach their full potential of shooting. This style of shooting is based on perfect fundamentals along with having a plan every time before the shooter calls for a target. Todd is 16years old, a junior in High School and lives in Maryville, TN which is in east TN about 30minutes south of Knoxville and about 45 minutes north of where Bill McGuire lives.  Todd is Homeschooled which is a co-op set up so he has classes with other kids and they probably have as many options for clubs, teams &amp; activities as a traditional school does. Shooting is a great motivator for Todd - if he doesn't have his homework done, he doesn't get to go to the shoot. In 2015 Todd started shooting a shotgun at 12 years old when he joined the William Blount SCTP team after a hunting buddy told Todd about SCTP. Until then he had no idea that SCTP and NSCA existed and had never even seen someone shoot a clay target. Coincidentally, their SCTP team practices at the same place where Bill McGuire got started.  Todd's great-grandfather (Papa) got him started in hunting and was certainly Todd's biggest fan.  The two of them went deer and turkey hunting every chance they got.  When we had Papa's funeral service last year at our farm Todd's great-grandmother asked Todd put on small shooting display because nothing would have made Papa happier. April 2017 Gamaliel - 1st NSCA event ever.  Todd thought he was big stuff because the weekend before he had shot his first 100 straight in sporting clays at a charity shoot.  He signed up for the NSCA and as an E class shooter at his first NSCA event we put in for ALL options including HOA (even though Rhonda Barfield was kindly discouraging us because people like Wendell Cherry, Bill McGuire and Tom Seay were there). Moving on to 2018, Todd won the SCTP Nationals Sporting Clays with a 198/200 and in July punched into Master Class. Now in 2019, Todd ended up in 7th place in the World English at Northbrook after the super final.  What's funny is that he didn't even know there was such a thing as a super final until Sunday morning.  He about missed the super final not realizing they were going to take the top 6 scores instead of top 6 shooters. Todd won the NE Regional Sporting Clays at the Cardinal Center in 2019, finished 9th in the SE Regional and is headed out to Texas to make big things happen at Nationals.
