The phrase Passive Income deserves to be named phrase of the year for 2020. I’ve lost count of the number of times I heard wedding pros talking about it last year. And with good reason.

It took a pandemic for many of us to realise the importance of diversifying and finding additional sources of income. We’ve all heard that saying about putting all your eggs in one basket – well my Mum drilled that into me from a very young age.

So in today’s episode we’re talking all things passive income. We’ll look at some ways to help you come up with some viable options for adding new revenue streams to your wedding business.

In this episode we'll be covering:

  • Why you need to add passive income to your wedding business
  • The digital marketing trends that showcase the rise of DIY Weddings
  • The pros and cons of online courses and memberships
  • The popularity of live wedding planning workshops for couples
  • How to become an affiliate of other people's products
  • Why a partner program might be perfect for you
  • Selling templates to couples on your website

My guest in this episode calls them your Success Saboteurs. Those saboteurs are voices in your head saying things like: “You’re not good enough to call yourself an expert in the wedding industry.” “You can’t possibly charge that; nobody will pay those prices!” or even "The wedding industry isn't going to recover for at least the next two years so I may as well give up."

I’m pretty sure at least one of those will sound familiar to you, I know they do to me. So today’s episode is a slightly different one from my usual marketing based episodes. Together with my guest, Natasha Bray, I want to help you find your Success Saboteur and know the steps to take to overcome them so you can move onto a successful 2021.

In this episode we'll be covering:

  • The power behind transformational healing

  • How by unlocking your your inner demons you can achieve success across ALL areas of your life
  • What 'Success Imprinting' is and how it can help you move forward in your business

Lights, Camera, Lipstick! How to Get Visible with Video

Podcast cover
Read more

It’s no secret that I absolutely LOVE video and it’s completely changed the trajectory of my business. But I also know that a lot of wedding pros just don’t know where to start with it and the very thought of getting in front of a camera sends them running for the hills.

Well it’s time to get over all that. Why? Because video is key in helping you to build that all important know, like, trust factor. There’s something about actually seeing someone versus looking at an image they’ve posted that just allows you to connect on a deeper level, more than any other medium.

If a picture is worth a thousand words a video is worth a million. And the statistics don’t lie. Video outperforms every other social media platform. Your ideal client is consuming more video than anything else. Especially at the moment during the time of Covid. And platforms like FB and IG prioritise native video content over everything else. Plus, YouTube is the second biggest search engine in the world – I arrest my case.

So it’s time for some lights, camera and lipstick as I show you how to get visible with video.
Here's what you'll learn:

  • Why video is THE medium to use right now to connect with your couples
  • Where and how to share your videos
  • 7 easy content ideas you can use to create video for your wedding business
  • The importance of using video on your Thank You Pages
  • How to use video FAQs on social media to get more engagement
  • Why storytelling is more important than anything else in your video

What About Weddings

Podcast cover
Read more

Like so many other industries the wedding industry has been hit hard by the Covid 19 pandemic. What should be one of the happiest days of people’s lives has become one of uncertainty and in the UK certainly, as at the time of recording this episode, absolute confusion and devastation.

In today’s special ‘What About Weddings’ episode we’re focusing on the UK and what we can do to help our industry get back on its feet again quickly.

Couples are confused. Are they allowed to have smaller weddings of up to 30 or aren’t they? Should they cancel? Should they postpone? What should they do?

And as for all those Wedding CEOS, those small businesses struggling to keep afloat my heart goes out to them. Our industry is made up primarily of solopreneurs who have it seems been forgotten by the government.

If something isn’t done soon the industry as we know it will cease to exist. Those amazing creatives who help create magical memories for their couples will have to close their doors and try to make ends meet in some other way.

How would you feel if that was you? Through no fault of your own watching your hard work, dedication, blood sweat and tears go down the drain because the government have deemed the wedding industry to be irrelevant.

My two guests today, Annabel Beeforth from Love My Dress and Nina Beer of Occasion Queens, have been working tirelessly with a team of unbelievable wedding pros to try and move things forward and help our struggling industry to get back on its feet again.

You can help too! Listen to this episode to find out how.
