Richard Dien Winfield Calls for a New Social Bill of Rights in Campaign for Senate

Podcast cover
Read more

On today’s show, we talk with Richard Dien Winfield, a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate running for the seat currently held by Georgia Senator Kelly Loeffler.

In this campaign, Richard has laid out an expansive agenda that calls for a new Social Bill of Rights that allows the government to guarantee everyone a livelihood. Key to that agenda is a federal guarantee that everyone will have a job with wages that start at $20 per hour.

Despite an expansive agenda, Richard still trails his Democratic opponents, and the presence of multiple Democrats in this race raises the possibility that no Democrats will make a January runoff that is likely to determine the winner of this race.
