As a person who loves film and music, this podcast combines both as Steffi breaks down divas and film discourse. You can tell how much effort went into creating this from the intro to the immense amount of study she does in preparation for each episode. She is not only entertaining but also knowledgeable about the divas and how the films impacted pop culture. Each episode is like a companion piece to each film and makes me want to rewatch the movies I’ve already seen and watch the ones I haven’t. I love this podcast and definitely recommend it for anyone who enjoys music and movies. Good job Steffi! Keep it up. Sit back, listen & SUBSCRIBE! - A Stan (Justin) 😉

The girls. The girls have gone wild. Kristen Maldonado (@kaymaldo) & I close out our Back to School Divas month with the Citizen Kane of our childhood: “Mean Girls” (2004). And of course, our diva of the week is everyone’s favorite “home schooled jungle freak” (Regina George’s words, not mine) Cady Heron aka Lindsay Lohan. Our “Mean Girls” discussion is so deep that I had to break down our “Mean Girls” extravaganza into two parts! So in this episode, we do a deep dive into the movie and discuss why Regina George is an evil genius, who really is Caesar & who really is Brutus, and answer whether or not this movie was an accurate portrayal of “Girl World”. MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING (1997): JULIA ROBERTS

I’m opening the vault. On a very special throwback episode of Diva Dailies, Lisa and I discuss “My Best Friend’s Wedding” (1997) and wonder who really is Jules’ (Julia Roberts) best friend. We also talk about how Michael (aka Dermot Mulroney) is literally such a dud in this movie and how George (Rupert Everett) is the true unsung diva of the movie. Then of course, we get into our diva of the week, Ms. Julia Roberts, and what starring in romcom at this point in her career possibly meant for her.

*This episode was the first ever episode that Lisa and I had recorded for Diva Dailies over a year ago! This, along with our “Burlesque” episode, served as our test episodes for Diva Dailies way back in the early days. Lisa and I always knew we would release the episode someday...and that day is finally here. I also edited this episode over a year ago, so if it sounds a bit rough around the edges, just think of it as a charming, endearing start to this podcast.

In an effort to find a modern-day romcom to talk about, Angie (@poetrysoul3) & I watch “The Lovebirds” (2020) & talk about the journey, growth, & glow-up career of our diva of the week: Issa Rae.

(Additionally, we spend a good 20ish minutes talking about “Killing Eve” Season 3 - which, yes - I will figure out a way to do a proper Diva Dailies episode about our favorite MI6 agent & assassin in a future season. Until then, refer to Oscar & Razzie time stamp)
