Rank #1: 259: How To Design A Better Future with Angie Lee
Today’s show will be the last one for a couple of months. I’m taking a summer break before the August 2020 release of my new book, Radical Alignment, co-authored with my husband, Bob Gower. Today’s show has everything to do with design--and we are going far beyond kitchen remodels.
Angie Lee is someone I met in the last few months, and we bonded immediately. She’s an architect, partner, and Design Director of Interiors at FXCollaborative in NYC. Angie knows the importance of design and how it is a part of everything in our lives.

Rank #2: 107 Pussy with Mama Gena
Hello my Clan of the Crave Bears! Today’s show is going to be super juicy. There are going to be some naughty words so if you have any little bunnies you might want to listen to this episode when they are not around. I am interviewing Mama Gena also known as Regena Thomashauer! Regena is the founder of The School of Womanly Arts.
The final live Cravings Cleanse kicks off this week! There is still time to join! There are two classes a week and you can call in either one or both days on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class number one is on Thursday September 22nd! I have a special discount just for listeners: crave50 and get $50 off the cleanse. You can still get in January but it will be a play at home version.
I wanted to have Mama Gena on the show because I know a lot of women struggle with how to trust ourselves and how to trust our bodies. How do you do this? Mama Gena has been exploring female desire, pleasure and power for over 20 years. I believe her interview and book are going to set the world on fire! She started The School of Womanly Arts in her living room in 1998 and has since then grown it into a global movement. Regena believes that women are the greatest, untapped natural resource on the planet. She teaches us (them) to turn on our innate feminine power and create the life they love. Her approach comes from decades of research in the social, cultural and economic history of women. In addition to being the leader at The School of Womanly Arts she is an author of 4 books.

Rank #3: 92 The New Fitness with Erin Studland and Shrink Session
Welcome back my Clan of the Crave Bears! It’s episode 92, and it’s the second in a 2 part series for Fitness Week! I had some really good feedback on episode 91 from my Facebook group. By the way, if you aren’t in our Facebook group, you can head over to bit.ly/wfdgroup and join us! There are about 1500 of us in the group, so there’s always lots of great conversations in there.
Our relationships with our bodies and exercise kept coming up in conversations in the group. The all or nothing thinking or perfectionism, keeps many people from even attempting to exercise. You feel like if it can’t be perfect, then why even attempt it. Lack of time and motivation were also factors in exercise. Many people mentioned that they are too tired to exercise, but feel like they wouldn’t be as tired if they had the energy to exercise. It’s a vicious cycle - a catch 22! Don’t even get me started on the Biggest Loser - please stop watching it! It is toxic. Extreme exercise and extreme dieting - it’s a shame based TV show.
It’s time to stop looking to extreme dieting and extreme behavior as a way to control our weight. We need better options. Today’s guest is Erin Studland. She is a dear friend and she is a dancer, an actor, etc and she was able to use dance as an access point for spirituality. She created a powerful style of movement called Shrink Session. It’s such a fun workout. She uses the positive psychology of language and movement and it’s really fun.
Join us for an entire week of Shrink Session workouts. You can access all the details at bit.ly/shrinkalex

Rank #4: 143 Healing the Mother Wound with Bethany Webster
Do you know what it actually means for women to step into their power? This is really something that needs to be considered when you look at the frightening and dangerous things that are going on for women in Texas at the moment. The Texas lawmakers are trying to make it even harder for women to have control over their bodies and their lives, by attempting to make it illegal to drive a woman to a safe abortion provider!
According to a study done by the University of Texas recently, in the six years since Planned Parenthood and other safe abortion providers and women's health clinics there have been de-funded, the death rate in maternal health has doubled. This de-funding has also resulted in the closure of more than eighty clinics, most of which were in rural areas where no alternative care facilities have been provided. This means that in the two years since the cuts were implemented, the remaining health clinics in the state of Texas are only able to serve half the women who were being taken care of before.
Alex points out that de-funding Planned Parenthood and making safe abortions harder to obtain does not stop abortion. It only stops safe abortion. This is why Alex refers to woman's health as a revolution. It's a battle being waged every day and women's lives are at risk! This is what prompted her to give a talk at The Women's Empowerment Expo in Washington DC on the Memorial Day weekend. Listen in today, as Alex gives you a brief overview of the talk that she gave at the Expo, called The Foundations of Women's Power.

Rank #10: 135 Stop Fighting Food with Isabel Foxen Duke
If you would love to break the shackles of yo-yo dieting once and for all, or to finally put an end to your diet spiral, you will really gain a lot from today's show, with Alex's super smart guest, Isabel Foxen Duke, a Health Coach who graduated with Alex, from the Institute For Integrative Nutrition. Listen in today and find out about Isabel's outlook on body positivity and how you too can develop a positive outlook towards your own body image.
Isabel was put on her first diet at around three years of age, by her pediatrician, who clearly had no idea how it would affect her later in her life. That was the beginning of what would become a life long obsession for her. When Alex met Isabel, she was just kicking off with her program, Stop Fighting Food. Now, Isabel helps women to stop feeling crazy around food, which is how she felt for most of her life, until she began to learn many things that are not taught conventionally, about emotional and binge eating and the ways that they affect women.
Isabel explains that the sad reality of many dieters lives is that with any rigid attempt to control your body, it will only be a matter of time before you violently lose control and start eating anything that you can get your hands on. She vividly describes the cycle of determination to diet, followed by 'losing it' and falling off the wagon.
On today's show, she talks about how it felt for her, when she fell off the wagon and the about the physical and emotional pain one experiences as a result of yo-yo dieting. She also discusses how landing up in treatment for Binge Eating Disorder was the beginning of her journey towards learning what it means to have a health-full and balanced relationship with food and how this learning involved un-learning much of what she had been conditioned with, through being so engaged with the diet industry for so many years. Listen in and find out more.

Rank #12: 98 What Boundaries?? with Christine Hassler
Welcome back! We are almost at episode 100! So amazing. It has been a big week for the female body. Jennifer Aniston, the popular actress put out an incredibly popular post in Huffington Post last week and spoke out against the appearance based celebrity gossip culture. She was fed up! I agree with her 100 percent. We get to determine our happily ever after for ourselves. I don’t know why it’s still controversial that women get to choose what the deal with my body is, whether I want to get married, have children or whether or not I say I’m beautiful. Maybe put an end to the obsessed diet and shame body culture that we live in. We have to talk about this! We should talk about the celebrity obsession and the impact that social media has on our body image and our ability to connect with ourselves and other people.
I will be interviewing my good friend Christine Hassler. She is a wonderful coach. She uses life coaching techniques and spirituality but she started out as a Hollywood agent at the age of 25. She went through her own healing journeys and ended up writing a couple of books. I have to say that we have only hung out only a few times in person but kept up with each other virtually. She is just a really supportive person. When I went through my concussion she called me and offered help and suggestions. Today she supports individuals all over the world discover life’s big questions. We are going to talk about imposter syndrome, how our bodies change, how we age, how it’s so unfair we feel like we need to look our best all the time, dealing with perfection and what are boundaries. I really want to hear from you and what you think about this body shaming culture we live in, how does it affect our relationship with food and ourselves. You can connect with me on twitter, Instagram, snapchat or with me and over 1600 other women on Facebook.

Rank #15: 154 How to Fall in Love with Anyone: an Interview with Mandy Len Catron
How does love actually work? Is it really possible to fall in love with anyone? Today we're going into a powerful interview about love!
In today's interview with Mandy Len Catron, we are going to explore love on a really profound level. Mandy's written a book, which is a beautiful tale as well as a process that she managed to unearth, where you really can fall in love with anyone. Mandy has thirty-six questions in her process, that can be used to foster compassion, understanding, and connection with literally anyone. All of us can really use this powerful tool, in this day and age, to help us to connect with those we feel hatred or anger either from or towards. Alex really encourages you to listen in very carefully and with an open heart, as Mandy talks about the book she wrote in 2015, which became a New York Times Modern Love Piece. It's called How To Fall In Love With Anyone and it went insanely viral, being one of the most shared articles in The Times, that year. In our current times, we really need to learn how to connect with the people who are different from us or the ones that we don't know much about. That is, ultimately, what will save us. Rank #17: 174 Raise Your Vibrations with Penney Peirce
2018 has already proved to be a year of challenge and transformation. I am going to start the year off from an admittedly vulnerable position, but isn’t that what this Podcast is all about? This season has proven to be exceptionally difficult for my family, but I know that the Her Rules Radio community will rally around me. I hope that by sharing my own struggles, I will inspire you to embrace yourself through difficulties. Yes, I have been harboring a lot of bad feelings. I’ve been judging another woman and withholding forgiveness. Listen as I share exactly why I decided forgiveness was within my power, and how it has freed me from so much I cannot control.
Continuing on the theme of vulnerability and transformation, I have invited Penney Peirce onto the show today. Where can I begin with someone like Penney? She is the author of so many incredible books that have personally changed my life, but the most recent is Transparency. Penney encourages and teaches women from all walks of life about the energies and frequencies that we can tap into if we only know where to look. The world is changing, and we are entering the Age of Intuition and Insight. Penney will break that down for you in an incredibly accessible way.

Rank #18: 151 You're Worth It with Amanda Steinberg
How well do you work with money? Do you struggle to keep within the limits of your budget? Or are you perhaps looking for a new and better way to earn a living? Today's guest, Amanda Steinberg, is the founder of Daily Worth.com. and she also has a brand new book out, called Worth It, which is all about money- her relationship with money, how to deal with money, her own personal journeys with money, all really fascinating and inspiring stuff. So, if wealth, financial planning, budgeting, or even the thought of making more money is something that's on your mind, you definitely want to listen to this!
As you know, Alex loves to talk about current events and how politics impacts on our feminine lives. Well, there really seems to be too much going on right now, to keep on top of it all. The closing of so many Planned Parenthood clinics is like a plague sweeping across America at the moment. Did you know that the only abortion clinic in Kentucky is in danger of closing? That's something that's affecting the lives of millions of women and their ability to be healthy and to choose the direction of their own lives. As there is so much going on, Alex is encouraging you to go and listen to one of her favorite podcasts, called Hellbent. Hellbent is a twice a week, feminist politics podcast, which goes into all the details of the stuff that Alex gives you the broader strokes on. So, go and check it out- it's really awesome!
With all of this going on, Alex has decided to talk about something good, today. It's so easy to focus on what's scary, or annoying, or exhausting, or even infuriating, but right now, we'll talk about gratitude, which is a really powerful, positive psychology tool. Alex wants our tribe to share some good things, so she starts off by reading some of them to you now, written by some of the members of Her Rules Radio Facebook Group, where there are currently over seventeen hundred women sharing about their lives! Listen in and become inspired by the really heartfelt gratitude messages that they have shared.

Rank #19: 159: Validate Your Own Damn Self
Today’s show is about one of the most important rules I have learned in my life. Deliciously happy women have some uncommon skills, and today we are talking about validating yourself. I had to learn to validate my own damn self and it wasn’t an easy process. Why do we need validation from others? Why can’t we be content with our own validation? I had to learn to trust myself. I needed someone else to tell me that my thoughts and feelings were valid. I was trained to look outside myself for guidance. I was taught not to trust myself and to question my knowing. It’s a trap to always think we need someone else to tell us what is right and what we need to do.

Rank #20: 117: Anger Snacking: End Emotional Eating
Welcome! I’m so grateful that you’re here and spending time with me today! We’re changing our name, did you hear? The Crave Cast will become Her Rules Radio in the very near future. Let’s check in on how Thanksgiving went, so how did it go? I gave you a couple of episodes in the weeks before Thanksgiving to help you deal with any of the pitfalls you may encounter over the holiday. My Thanksgiving turned into a “Friendsgiving” and we cooked all day and had friends over and the food was awesome! We had a 10 hour celebration and we got to enjoy time with friends. I love having a cozy day at my home, surrounded by people that I love.
Join the mailing list to learn about the live webinars that I am going to be doing. I am doing an amazing New Year’s Day Planning webinar! So sign up for my newsletter at www.alexandrajamieson.com and look out for those announcements!
I first became aware of anger snacking in my own life. To be honest, it was during the time I was going through my divorce. I noticed it when I was so mad that I was crunching my way through a family sized bowl of popcorn. I was mad and was destroying things with my teeth. I crunched my way through snack after snack after snack. I wanted to act out in so many ways, but that wasn’t appropriate so I just crunched and crunched. Yep, you get the idea. That’s what we are talking about today!
