Emily is so relatable and funny. Her humor is spot on for me. The episode with Kaitie and Rebecky are always hilarious. I also love the guests she brings on. Please allow me to introduce you to my friend Joanna.  There are SO many reasons I needed you to meet this girl.  First, her "little skill of sewing" as she calls it, is not little.  It is actually making a huge impact in her town and around the world. Second, she has overcome some poor choices in her own life (we all make them!) and has witnessed first hand God's amazing promise to work all things out for good. You wouldn't believe the story if I told you so you might as well hear it from her.

In our chat we cover how single parenting is hard and how waiting for your adoptive child is hard too!  We talk about her new job with Project Free 2 Fly and her work with No. 41.

Find me on your favorite social media channel so we can chat about YOUR thoughts on this episode! If you have a second, it would really help other struggling moms find us if you review the podcast on iTunes. The struggle is real.  We might as well do it together!

You know, I don’t feel like I’m cut out for this Mom thing. I am angry ALL the time and it can feel completely overwhelming to be in charge sometimes. She is also a popular speaker for MOPS groups and other women’s events, and is the author of the new book, No Better Mom for the Job: Parenting with Confidence (Even When You Don't Feel Cut Out for It.) Are you racing towards your goals? Running away every chance you can? I sure do. We could all use a gentle reminder to slow down and listen to what God may be telling us.

This week we are bringing you an exclusive interview with our very own Rebecky! There are no problems this month as we celebrate Rebecca Smith’s vulnerable and sweet page-turner that launched this week. In A Better Life: Slowing Down to Get Ahead, Rebecca tells us many personal stories of how she took baby steps and followed God’s lead to find her purpose. Even though she is one of my dearest friends, I didn’t know the sweet story behind Better Life Bags before reading. Have you ever wondered if you may have a substance dependence issue? Maybe you have a child or loved one dealing with substance abuse and could use some advice on how to love them well through that. My friend and neighbor Liz came to sit with me on my bedroom floor and tells us about her journey through alcohol use and rehabilitation. She shares when she came to faith and the conditions she made up to help keep her sober. We talk about pride, abortion, neglect, and denial in this bittersweet story.

Liz is a mom to three, a wife to a Richard and is in recovery. She believes that God can make a message out of all of her messes and she loves the idea of Struggling WELL vs. plain ole’ struggling. Gratitude is her superpower and I’m so glad to call her a friend!

  • how Liz‚Äôs kids are teaching her to be present

  • taking our kids‚Äô actions less personally

  • Liz‚Äôs journey with drugs, alcoholism, abortion, recovery, and relapse

Emily is so relatable and funny. Her humor is spot on for me. The episode with Kaitie and Rebecky are always hilarious. I also love the guests she brings on. Even if I feel like I can‚Äôt relate to a subject there is something that I can take away from every episode. Thank you Emily!!! You make my house work get done much faster. Today I laughed out loud while scrubbing the kitchen floor on my hands and knees while listening to the Mom Struggling Well podcast. ūüėÖ

Simply the best!
