Keep Yourself Charged - Recharge Your Mind!

Do you take enough time to reset, recharge and reenergize?I’m forever having conversations with clients, who are stressed, overwhelmed, or suffering with some level of anxiety. One thing we often look it is, how best we can incorporate lifestyle strategies that help us to reset and recharge.Think about your mindset, your energy, your perspective, like that of the charge on your phone, or some other device.Unless you consistently and frequently keep it charged and topped up, then inevitably it will run flat and on empty. The busy-ness, the demands, the activities of day-to-day life is using up our energy, so it's important that we take sufficient time to recharge, to reset and to reenergize. So, have a check in with yourself today and look at your life and ask yourself, are you taking enough time for yourself and to recharge. Let's be honest, most of us don't take enough time to re-charge and it's a conversation I have with clients all the time.  Sometimes there's also an element of confusion, between taking time purposefully within intent to take time-out, versus escapism.Often people look for activities to help them escape from the stress and demands of life, and they don't feel fully replenished, or they don't get the full benefit from it, because they've running away from something. Instead, what I'm talking about is making sure you weave into your day-to-day life, your week to week, your month to month, things that you enjoy, things that inspire you, things that encourage you, things that help to keep you topped up, charged from the inside out. This could be anything, we're all different, we all like different things. Physical activity can be an important component of that, but that could look like many different things, for many different people, reading, listening to music, getting outside in nature, going for walks. Whatever way works for you, be honest and ask yourself, do you do it often enough. Look at how much variety you can come up with, for doing different things that will help keep you, you rested, recharged, and reenergized.Don't fall into the trap of waiting until you need it, do it consistently, so you help prevent yourself from getting to the point when you need to reboot and re-charge. Be more productive, purposeful proactive and do the small things as often as you can, that help keep your charge as consistently high as you possibly can. That way, it's going to take a lot more for you to run on empty, but also, you then have things in place, that even if you get distracted by life, you have habits and routine that naturally help you reset, refocus and get yourself back on track if needed.Your action for today, is to have a look at your life, have a look at your day, your week, your month, your time and ask yourself, what can you do to help keep yourself charged up and, and let me know in the comments, or get in touch and let me know what's your favourite way, or ways to keep yourself rested recharged and re-energized. I look forward to hearing all the different things that you enjoy.Remember what your mind believes you will achieve. So, allow yourself to think differently, to believe yourself, to take the right kind of action, so that you can achieve the life and the goals that you want.Go on… You can do it!All the bestChristianMindset CoachLet’s Stay Connected;Podcast – https://the-achieve-podcast.captivate.fm/listenBlog http://christianbaker.net/blog/YouTube https://www.youtube.com/user/christianbakertvInstagram https://www.instagram.com/christianbakernetTwitter https://twitter.com/christianbakerFacebook https://www.facebook.com/bakerchristian

3 Reasons We Often Fail To Achieve Our Goals

Here’s why most people don’t achieve their goals…I've just been having a conversation with a new client who was pretty frustrated with why they're not achieving the goals and the outcomes that they want.They're very intelligent, they know what they want, they know what they should and shouldn't be doing, but there's this immense frustration that they're not doing it.I want to share with you today, 3 common reasons we often struggle to achieve the goals and the outcomes that we want to make, whatever that might be, whatever change or transformational goal you want to accomplish.We often find ourselves in a place where we feel held back, or stuck, or not doing what's necessary to make it happen.Firstly, the main reason why so many people don’t achieve their goals is we often spend too much time focused on the things that we don't want.The way the mind works is we get more of what I think about, we get more of what we focus on, so if we keep thinking and talking about what we don't want, we're training our mind to keep doing those very things we don’t want to be doing.So, you need to get clear on what you don't want, but then you need to spend more time focusing on what you actually do want and help train your mind and your actions to go in that direction.The second reason we often fail to achieve our goals is we often find ourselves running to out of date programming.Our feelings, our beliefs, our attitudes, our habits, our behaviours, are either moving us towards what we want, or further away from it.Intellectually we may know what we want, but we find ourselves stuck or sabotaging our efforts because we've been programmed, or we've programmed ourselves to do something else.For example, if somebody is looking to lose weight, they've probably got themselves into some bad eating habits, or they're not as motivated to exercise, or be active.So consciously they want to make sone changes, they know what they want to achieve, but their habits and their behaviours, their current programming is out date.So, if you want to change or achieve something and you feel held back, you may need to look at your subconscious programming. Think of your mind like your phone, you often get prompts to select a software update. It's not that your current software is right or wrong, it’s just become out of date. And your mind is the same, for your mind to perform and function how you want it to, it just needs an update.Have a think about your habits, your thought patterns, are they aligned with what you want to achieve.If they are, great and if they're not, it may be that you just need to get a shift and make some changes to help you to reprogram your mind for where you are in your life now.The third reason I see people struggling to achieve their goals, is due to the lack of action in the right direction.These are all linked together, because sometimes our habits and our behaviours, the actions we take are moving us towards the things that we used to do, or the things that we don't want anymore, due to focusing on what we don’t want too much, or due to out of date programming.It's important and all very well getting clear on what you want, but you then have to do something about it, you then have to take action towards making it happen!If there's something that you want to change to achieve or accomplish, ask yourself if you are you taking action towards it, or away from it?Be aware of where your actions are taking you, then you can look at what you can do to help make it happen.Simply ask yourself, “what's the one best thing I can do next, which will move me towards achieving the outcome that I want?”That’s the 3 common reasons why most people struggle and fail to achieve their goals and the outcomes we want.Let me know in the comments, if you struggle with any of these and if you've got any questions, let me know.And remember, what your mind believes you will achieve, allow yourself to think differently, to believe in yourself, to take action and you can achieve the life and the goals that you want.Go on, make it happen, you can do it!All the bestChristianMindset Coach Let’s Stay Connected;Podcast – https://the-achieve-podcast.captivate.fm/listenBlog http://christianbaker.net/blog/YouTube https://www.youtube.com/user/christianbakertvInstagram https://www.instagram.com/christianbakernetTwitter https://twitter.com/christianbakerFacebook https://www.facebook.com/bakerchristian

Change Your State Of Mind - Change Your Life

In a recent episode of The Achieve Podcast, episode 56, with Success Coach Paul Webb, I was reminded of a quote from Albert Einstein.“We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” Albert EinsteinI’ve got a couple of thoughts on this I’d like to share with you today.Firstly, if you're in a current state of worry, anxiety, overthinking, overwhelm, then you have to change your thinking, you have to change your state, to step away and gain some perspective.If you stay stuck in that kind of thinking, it’s going to be much more difficult to get out of that mindset. So, if you're currently, or if you ever find yourself caught up in any level of stress, anxiety, overwhelm, or just overthinking, then I encourage you to do something that will help you get some clarity and perspective. Think of your mindset like a channel, or frequency, a state of mind that you can change. So, if you're in a state that's not serving you, or it's not helpful, then change it. You can do that in many different ways, one of the easiest and one of my personal favourites is to just take an action, just move, go out for a walk, go somewhere for a change of scenery, a change of perspective.You could also do a guided meditation, or some mindfulness breathing exercises.  These are a great way of shifting that internal state that you're in, that just gives you some perspective and clarity to help you to think differently. Which allows you to take a different approach towards helping yourself move forward, or to resolve whatever was causing you some inner conflict. Every now and again, if you find yourself in a state of overwhelm or negativity, just know that you can take some simple steps to help change that internal state of mind, just by moving, get an out of your own head by doing something like meditation, like breathing exercises.  Just know that you have the ability to change your mindset. As somebody who helps people to change their mindset, if you find yourself in a state where you want to make a change, but you're not able to do it, be aware that your current level of thinking, is unlikely to help you to make that change, to enable you to move forward in the direction that you want. Sometimes you need to allow yourself to find a way to upgrade your mindset, to upgrade your current level of thinking, this is often referred to as adopting a growth mindset, rather than staying in the fixed mindset and state that you're currently in. Instead, you can upgrade your default thinking to help get out of your comfort zone. One of the ways of doing that is to update your mindset and it’s possible to do this in many different ways, you can educate yourself, to nurture your mind with new learnings, whether that be absorbing positive, motivating videos and books and podcasts, or seeking out a kind of a professional mindset coach, or therapist that will help you to make some changes to update your mind. But really what I wanted you to do today is have their awareness that it is possible that you can change your level of thinking.Whether that’s to help in the short term, with something that's currently happening, or if that be a more kind of permanent change that you want to make to enable you to move forward and help you to achieve the goals and the life that you want, either way it’s possible to change your thinking and your mindset!  Let me know in the comments, or drop me a message and let me know..What's your favourite way of changing your state of mind?What's your favourite way of getting out of your own head and changing your thinking? Failing To Prepare Is Preparing To Fail

Are You Prepared To Fail Or Succeed?There's a great quote by Benjamin Franklin that says,“If you fail to plan, then you are planning to fail”.Now there's a slightly different version that I want to share with you today.And that is,“If you fail to prepare, then prepare to fail.”So, if there is something that you want to change, improve or achieve in your life, what preparation are you making towards making that happen?What skills do you need to learn and develop?What habits, routines, and actions do you need to put into place to prepare yourself to make it happen?As well as this, have an honest conversation with yourself and ask,Are you prepared to do to make it happen?You know, making plans, setting goals, is fantastic and important, but there comes a point when you have to implement something, you have to make some changes. You have to make progress towards it.So, ask yourself, what are you prepared to do?Are you prepared to do what's necessary to make it happen?What preparation are you making?Are you prepared to actually do it?Your action for today is to reflect on this, look at any changes that you want to make in your life. Plan Your March Goals - What Will You Achieve This Month

How will you make the most of March, how can you make March matter?Today we start a brand new month. It's the beginning of March 2021, which means we are two months into 2021 already.So, I wanted to ask you, How has your year started out? What have you enjoyed? What have you achieved? Are you where you want to be yet? If not, take a couple of moments to think back to when you set yourself some goals at the beginning of the year, what is it you wanted to have achieved? What do you want to accomplish in 2021?And if you haven't set yourself any goals yet, take a few moments to think about it now,What do you want to achieve? What do you want to have accomplished by the end of this year? Then ask yourself, What can you do this month to help move you forward? How can you make March matter? How can you get momentum this month? To help you, I encourage you to just choose one single thing that you can do every single day that is going to help you to move forward, to make progress, to create momentum towards the very thing, or the things that you want to achieve and accomplish in your year and in your life.Remember the time is going to pass anyway, so you may as well choose to deliberately do something that's going to move you forward. In March you have… 31 days744 hours44, 640 minutesHow will you make the most of it?Take a couple of moments today to think, if you could reduce the overwhelm and just commit to doing one thing that is going to help you move forward and make progress, what would you choose today.Then set yourself a 28 day challenge and do that one thing every day for the next 28 days and see how much progress you can make. Imagine, if we were to have a conversation a month from now, how much momentum, how much progress you could have made to help you towards whatever it is you want to achieve.On the flip side, imagine you don't commit to doing something and another month passes by and you're still no closer to the things that you said you wanted, how frustrated would you feel?Pause for a moment to think about what one thing you can do every day. Choose something, commit to it and commence.Just get started and do that one thing every single day, that's going to help you move forward. What one thing can you do that your future self will thank you for? Stop Wasting Time Thinking About The Things You Don’t Want - Think Differently And It Will Change Your Life.In the last episode I shared some ways for how you can help manage your mental fitness during challenging times.One of the ways I suggested was to shift your focus.To shift your focus away from the things that you don’t want and start to pay more attention to the things you don’t want.Take time to train your mind to focus more on the good, the positives, the things that you are grateful for, the things that you enjoy and take time to focus and nurture your mind on encouraging sources of inspiration, rather than the negativity in your life and in teh media..As well as these ideas I wanted to share with you another way you can help train your mind and change how you feel.And that is to focus your mind on what you are looking forward to.I was talking with a client the other day, who has been working flat our for 18 months, with hardly anytime off, no holidays, so I took him through a guided mediation to imagine being on holiday.I appreciate you can never fully replace the feeling and experience of being there for real.
