Texan here who has been listening for over a year, and I have never left a review on any podcast ever. After hearing about these cretins complaining, I had to finally leave a review. Keep giving resources! As a DV attorney, I appreciate you so much and this helps. You ARE saving lives. Abusers are hating you for it. The same people calling this fear mongering are probably the people that think we should reopen because this virus isn’t a real problem 🙄 Keep. It. Up! As for the politics, keep it going as well! This is your podcast, and they can go somewhere else. Murder (which is categorized into law) and trials (which are presided over by judges who are either Rep or Dem) are inherently political concepts. Those complainers can get over it or move on. I thoroughly appreciate the podcast for the facts + your opinions and fierce commentary. I live for the moments when you and I are both yelling, “BS” at some dumb 💩 someone says. Thank you!

It isn’t political it’s sensible

On Thanksgiving night of 2017, a youth minister in Chester, Virginia did the unthinkable. After heavy drinking and arguments, he shot his family to death. Friends, family and the entire community were shocked. They seemed so happy. Every Facebook post showed a close knit family, laughing and seemingly normal. But Christopher Gattis wore a mask. A mask that slipped in an alcohol induced rage that destroyed his family.

Rank #3: 25: The Suspicious Death of Lauren Agee on Center Hill Lake

Lauren Agee went to Center Hill Lake in Smithville, Tennessee with some "friends" to attend the annual wake-boarding tournament known as WakeFest. They were camping on a steep cliff, 90 feet above the water. She supposedly went to bed Saturday night, and was missing the next morning. She was found hours later by two fishermen, floating dead, face down in a cove. Her death was barely investigated and her friends acted extremely suspicious.

In 1987, a circuit court judge and his wife, a former city council woman, who wanted to be mayor, were murdered in their home in Biloxi, Mississippi. It was obviously a professional hit. Vincent Sherry was a former criminal defense attorney who had defended members of the Dixie Mafia. Now, he was putting criminals away. Margaret Sherry was a fiery republican in a public slap fight with the current democratic mayor. She wanted to clean up the Biloxi strip of seedy night clubs and gambling, which of course, the Dixie Mafia ran. And she wanted to expose corruption in city hall.

Who was the real target? It was a conspiracy that would take four years and the determination of their oldest daughter to unravel.

95: Georgia Tann: Pedophile, Kidnapper & Inventor of Modern Adoption

Podcast cover
Read more
In 1926, a woman named Georgia Tann began running the Memphis branch of the Tennessee Children’s Home Society. Soon, Georgia began selling babies and children on the black market, often out of state. And as demand for children grew, she began kidnapping infants and even older children. While she is dubiously credited with normalizing adoption at a time that it was stigmatized, her real legacy is creating closed adoptions. She also left a legacy of horrific physical, emotional and sexual abuse of the children in her care.

Podcast cover
Read more
In 1987, a circuit court judge and his wife, a former city council woman, who wanted to be mayor, were murdered in their home in Biloxi, Mississippi.

But police procedures at the time, in 1984, caused her to accuse the wrong man. When he was finally exonerated by DNA, Jennifer didn’t just apologize. She and Ronald Cotton became close friends and Jennifer became an activist about the fallibility of eyewitness identification and the power of forgiveness.

KEEP IT GOING!

By TexanFriedTrueReviewer - May 17 2020
