K&F Show #117: The 2005 Dukes of Hazzard Movie – FULL REVIEW!

Thank you to WWW.POLICYGENIUS.COM for your support in this show! Please visit WWW.POLICYGENIUS.COM and get your life (and auto, and home, and disability, and renters...) insurance squared away cheap and easy. Mention us on your Exit form! This is it! After waiting years to prepare we finally did a full review of the 2005 Dukes of Hazzard movie. This was a $50Million dollar big screen production of our favorite TV show, featuring our favorite car doing the best big screen performance any car has ever performed, ever (we're looking your way, Bullitt). Other than the car.....this isn't the TV series Dukes that you know. Boss Hogg (played by Burt Reynolds) is skinny. Rosco is mean, not goofy. Bo is scared of women. Luke can't drive. Uncle Jesse is crass. But....if you can get past all of that and leave it for what it is, we loved it. Our man Corndog was onsite for the entire filming of the movie in Louisiana and had the full skinny on every car there that played the General Lee (all 27 of them). Get Hour 2 of this Show: Available on Patreon! As announced previously, not only is a monthly prize giveaway now part of what we do for all Patrons - but we're going to start added in a "second hour" of select shows for them as well! This is our very first Hour 2 show! Listen in to hear Corndog give a breakdown on the filming locations as well as ALL 27 GENERAL LEE's used in the Dukes of Hazzard movie. He was there, he knows where the bodies are buried, and he delivered the goods! K&F Show #129: The 2019 Thanksgiving Show Part 1 – Planes, Trains and Automobiles!

This episode is presented by returning sponsors Holley, Aluma Trailers, and Wyotech! For the love of Thanksgiving leftovers, please reach out to them and thank them for sponsoring the show. Even if you buy nothing, tell them how much you appreciate it. Companies like these are taking a gamble that shows like ours - and audiences like you - are worth the return. We know you are....but any reminder you can give them would be so very appreciated. You rock! Movie Review: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles! So here's the thing - when it comes to a Thanksgiving themed highly quotable slapstick-yet-tearjerker movie to review there's really only one that is worthy of doing so for: Planes, Trains & Automobiles. Let's admit it - John Hughes plus Steve Martin plus John Candy equals perfection. And yes, before you even say it, we have reviewed this movie years before with Finnegan (Episode 51) in fact. And yes...it was so funny then that, like this movie, it's worth a repeat of because it's as timeless as it gets....plus the re-enactment of the "you play with your balls" scene was pretty epic! Better yet....the entire second hour on Patreon (www.patreon.com/kfshow) does a deeper dive on the car, the quotes, the unaired plot points that explained so much more, and another movie re-enactment of the most famous scene in the movie. You know the one....those aren't pillows! Kick back and enjoy - and have a Happy Thanksgiving! Patreon Peeps, good news good news! First up ,the full second hour of this show is available to you in Patreon right now! Visit http:\\www.warrencustoms.com and tune in as soon as you wrap this one out. Second (and just in time for Christmas) the KF Show tumblers are ready to go and you will receive the Patreon only discount of $15 on your purchase. Your price is $45 and retail is $60. All sales go to help the show of course, are hand crafted by Nathan Warren himself, are full size, and - best of all - are hand painted in real 1975 Code 70 "General Lee" Corvette Flame Red with our logo and the "01" under a clear coat! K&F Show #108: Mashup Extravaganza: Finnegan, Jack Gill’s Interview Preview, and Corey Eubanks!

Finnegan returns....again. Yes, we still love Finnegan. Yes, we talk often. Yes, he's still basically Andy Dwyer from the TV show Parks and Rec. Listen in for an update on Mike's life, car projects, and ability to appreciate "dad jokes" on the new Avengers movie! So, big news! In this episode you get to hear from not one, but TWO unbelievable Dukes of Hazzard stunt performing super-heroes. We just interviewed Jack Gill himself - the man that went through the barn on the Dukes and was the guinea-pig of the jump vest. That vest is what stopped people from breaking their backs and is still in use today! Jack worked on the DUkes, Knight Rider, Fast and Furious, and is a wealth of knowledge. The edited interview will release next week but a sneak peek is here for you now. The FULL intervew is already out for our Patreon supporters! Details below for that. Following Jack, listen in to a past interview I (Rob) did with Corey Eubanks in 2011. It's pretty eye opening to the life and times of what he did back in the day. Enjoy! Patreon Peeps, your April 2019 Q&A show has dropped as has the full length interview with Jack Gill! Just click the link below or check your Patreon app to listen to both, plus every single past release for Patreon supporters only as well. As we shared in the April show....the future of Kibbe and Friends really is likely built around Patreon. Thank you SO MUCH to those of you who have joined in and also to those of you who have chosen to increase your contribution! We're working hard to start finding even more ways to reward every level - with extra perks for those at the $10 level especially. The reality is, without you all this show can't happen. Thank you!! Well.....nobody, but I did ask Mike back on to visit for Show #100 - and he regaled in the full story of his win against Hoonigan's own Jon Chase at the NHRA Winter Nationals. And then I made he and Corndog play a somewhat inappropriate game of who has made out at the Top 10 Most Common make-out-session locations. It'll make more sense when you hear it. It's Valentine's week, right? Feature Interview: Byron Cherry - Coy Duke! We had the great opportunity to interview Byron Cherry, the actor who portrayed Coy Duke for 19 episodes of The Dukes of Hazzard in Season 5 of the series! Many of us as fans of the show have heard the tales regarding the departure and return of John Schneider and Tom Wopat to the show, but the story for Byron Cherry (and his co-star Chris Mayer) is one that the full truth may not have been shared. Listen in to hear his story of getting the opportunity as a young actor to play a leading-man role on the biggest TV series in the world! K&F Show #96: Finnegan’s Last Show; Dukes of Hazzard Review: “Happy Birthday General Lee” – S7 Episode 1

It's Christmas, and if you aren't wearing MicroModal fabric next to your most of delicate nether region, you're robbing yourself. If your downstairs could file a formal complaint, it would. BUT, fear not for we bring you tidings of great joy - and it shall come in fun undies with Christmas prints too! Just head to MeUndies.com/kafs and pick out a holiday treat for yourself early! Guaranteed for fun, fashion, and comfiness or your money back. Plus, it helps our show! To get 15% off your first pair, free shipping, AND their 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and get the best and softest underwear you will ever own, go to MeUndies.com/kafs! This is it; the one where we learn why, when, and how the General Lee came to the Dukes! Even better - we get to see him be built from an old junkyard wreck (which was clearly a former jump car). Ironically, this is the Dukes of Hazzard episode that Finnegan and I to start our own podcast about the Dukes of Hazzard together...so it's fitting that we decided to end it here. Anyway, here's the gist of it; this entire episode is a trip down memory lane for the Duke clan as they throw a birthday party for the General Lee. Only the "date of birth" references the day the General himself was created by the Dukes, not the day the Charger rolled off of the Dodge assembly line. It's set 8 years in the past where Boss Hogg was skinny with hair, Rosco has a Burt Reynolds mustache, Daisy didn't work at the Boars Nest, and before Bo and Luke knew that cars could safely fly. And there are bad guys in it, one of which has been a different bad guy two different times in the past too. The biggest thing of all though is that prior to the Dukes, the General was just a soulless Charger. It wasn't until the Dukes found it - and vice versa - that all their lives changed for the better! The all new Kibbe and Friends edition of the show - with Kibbe, Corndog, and Bernie will debut THIS MONTH! We have received more support from fans that we could have imagined! Frankly, it's the only reason we decided to keep going at all. To get in on the action and support the show with a minor financial contribution just click the link below to sign up and get started! We have $1, $2, $5 , and $10 monthly options available.. By far, the $5 is the biggest winner so far! And as always - YOU ROCK! http://www.patreon.com/kfshow Yes, it's true. Mike is leaving as full time show co-host at the end of the year. We'll miss him too, but if you would like a Kibbe and Finnegan shirt or hoodie you still have time to make it happen! If you mention us on your exit survey after purchasing they will stick with our show longer! www.POLICYGENIUS.COM This episode is ALSO presented by returning sponsors Aluma Trailers, and returning sponsors Holley and Wyotech! Listen in for details! Dukes Review: Bad Day in Hazzard Believe it or not, but this is a legitimately good episode. It’s been a while, right? Even the General is acknowledged to have been damaged by smashing bad guys and is then repaired. It’s crazy town! Anyway, here’s the summary: bad guys come to Hazzard to pull of an “Oceans 11” style heist of an armored car delivering money to Boss Hogg’s bank. The Dukes later thwart the robbery. The end. Dang. Come to think of it, it’s hard to write up a compelling summary to this – but trust us – it’s good. Here’s a tidbit of info that was fun: Actor M.C. Gainey is in this episode as a background thug-bad-guy…which is not important at all…but that very same actor went on to portray Rosco P. Coltrane in the 2005 Dukes of Hazzard movie! Patreon Peeps! Our September winner has been sent their prizes and now we're ready to push into October loud and proud. K&F Show #130: Christmas Specials, Swimsuits, and Carburetors – Dukes Review: S4E24 “Miss Tri Counties”

This episode is presented by returning sponsors Holley, Aluma Trailers, and Wyotech! Wanna do us a solid? Call them up and thank them for sponsoring the show. They'll be blown away! Dukes Review: Miss Tri Counties: The town of Hazzard hosts  a T&A beauty contest for women. By that I of course mean, Transmissions and Alternators. Seriously, the plot of this episode is a competition where the most impressive lady from each county competes by rebuilding carbs, racing cars, and then wearing swimsuits. It truly is heaven on earth. During the race Daisy takes the General from 3rd to 1st and just like the movie Ford vs Ferrari, during the race scene she stares down the bad guy (girl?) while passing her...which of course in real life would lead to an amazing accident. Bonus points for insanely awesome General Lee speed in this episode, in car footage of John Schneider really whipping 180's, and Tom Wopat climbing out the window of the General at full tilt. When Paul Baxley directs, great things happen! Patreon Peeps, the Nathan Warren line of custom made K&F Tumblers has gone international - but the best deal is still had by YOU! Just in time for Christmas, the KF Show tumblers are ready to go and you will receive the Patreon only discount of $15 on your purchase. Your price is $45 and retail is $60. Hey hey - it's our first show of 2020, here with the news and the Dukes reviews that you need most! This episode of the Dukes featured a Women's Power theme called the Hazzard Equal Rights Society episode. Once again, the Dukes are ahead of their time, right? Lulu wears a Boss Hogg suit and shenanigans ensue. And...since any printed further summary would potentially now be an ethics violation, and since we have no desire to deal with that even a little bit, we'll stop hear and encourage you to listen to the review. The General Lee is in it, so that's good. Otherwise...meh.  Show Rating: 6 Corndogs Patreon Peeps, One more HUGE thanks to you for allowing us to donate $1000 to TOYS FOR TOTS Today! We'll be back on our regular schedule this month with a Q&A show, and the Patreon Supporter PRIZE GRAB will return as well!  Thank you SO MUCH to those of you who have joined in and also to those of you who have chosen to increase your contribution! If there is one racing movie that is as often (or perhaps more) quoted than Days of Thunder, it's Talladega Nights! This is not a bad episode, but this is also not an episode you'll come back to time and time again. Daisy isn't in distress, the General is never at risk, etc. There are a few cool jumps though and one sweet shot of a police car landing while looking out the passenger window of the General lee, but that's it. Well, wait. Wait. Totally wait. There is a freaking huge connection to Star Trek the Next Generation in here! I forgot about that. The conman in this show is played by an actor who has been on Star Trek. That at least led to a good discussion on why the NCC-1701-D was destroyed in the first Star Trek TNG movie. In conclusion, this Dukes episode is OK. 5 Corndogs. Finally - the KibbeLee update from Mr. Nathan Warren at Warren Customs is in this episode...complete with a full update on our Season 2 pushbar (which he'll make available for sale) to the failure encountered with Alsa spray chrome. It looks aluminum! Visit www.warrencustoms.com to speak with Nathan personally. Patreon Peeps, the May show is coming and you guys are KILLING it! Thanks so much to those of you who have joined in just since last week - as well as to those of you who have even increased your contribution. We are continuing to release info there that will never go fully public....and if you've heard the shows you know the reasons! Thank you!! K&F Show #101: Fun Hate Mail Plus a Review of the Dukes: S4E14 “The Dukescam Scam”

Guess what? Thanks to you our favorite razor company of all time is back! Harry's Razors. Want to give it a try, and support the show? Claim your FREE TRIAL and go to http://Harrys.com/KAFS right now! Dukes Review: This is the classic tale of Boss Hogg being jailed for robbing his own bank as a trick to get Jesse to bail him out using the Duke Farm as collateral. Why? Because 40 years prior when Jesse and Boss were moonshiners, Boss helped Jesse out of a jam. This leads to Boss eating a lot of raw liver, the General jumping a pong about 50 times, and a salvation moment inside an air-starved bank vault. FYI - there is an alarming lack of Daisy walking around in shorts in this one. 8 out of 10 Corndogs. Patreon Peeps, our Jan and Feb swag packs have finally been sent! Thanks for your patience. We'll also be recording our next show soon to so get your questions ready for Kibbe, Corndog, and Bernie. Again, thank you so much to the multitude of you who have joined in, stepped up your pledge, and have (basically) made it known that you wanted us to keep going and growing. We're still in, and it's our goal to make Patreon the place in 2019 far more than ever before.
