Institutional investors increasingly flock toward bolstering Bitcoin adoption and grow its developing community. Even though these efforts aren’t universally seen as a net positive development, a strong case can be made for the benefits of “big money” entering Bitcoin.

Ethan Ackerman joins me to co-host this coin pod in which we chat about institutional investors entering bitcoin, investing in altcoins, maximalism, and more with Mark Yusko, a fervent bitcoin apologist, an active investor in the so-called “crypto” space and CEO of Morgan Creek Capital.

This is episode 253 of You, Me, and BTC – your liberty and Bitcoin podcast.

Today’s show was a little crazy. We didn’t prepare one bit but we still knocked it out of the park.

We kicked things off by talking about Ripple’s decision to get Bill Clinton as a keynote speaker. LUL. Where did Ripple get the funds to hire him, anyway? And why would he have any interest in talking about cryptocurrency?

Then later in the show, we’ll get distracted and chat about some useful tools and skills. A project called Pi-hole blocks ads across your entire network. And Snips is a wildly flexible voice assistant that doesn’t even need the internet. It just runs in your living room and no one ever has to know what you say to it.

What’s the point of tools like these? It it really worth taking the time to figure them all out?

Tune in for our hot takes and check the list below for some of the specific stuff we’ll cover!

- President Bill Clinton Keynotes Ripple’s Swell Conference 2018
- Pi-hole®: A black hole for Internet advertisements

This is episode 7 of a brand new YMB Network show with a brand new host. It’s Unpopular Opinions with Ryan Tofil and it’s gonna drive you up the wall.

First of all, when Ryan said he doesn’t “condemn” racism last week, what he meant was he doesn’t condone racism. He got the two words mixed up and it led to a very different meaning. Long story short, he’s an idiot.

But apparently, Ryan and Bryan have dealt with even bigger idiots than each other. And boy are they mad. Well, at least Ryan is. Bryan’s pretty calm, but that’s because he’s got a belly full of perogies and lo mein.

This week’s top story is all about when the post office cheated Ryan out of over ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. It was closer to $1,400, actually. The guys will share the story of how it all went down and why Ryan refuses to mail ANYTHING via the USPS.

It’s the YMB Network’s newest show, Unpopular Opinions. And it’s aptly named because these two guys are, well, unpopular. Since they can’t get people to pay attention to them in person, they have to do it on the greatest* podcast ever created. Tune in now!

This is episode 15 of Unpopular Opinions with Ryan Tofil. It's a slick deal if I ever saw one.

In case you forgot why this show is called Unpopular Opinions, Ryan brought along the most unpopular person he could find to drive that point home. This week's special guest is Daniel Brown!

Just recently, Google admitted to recording and abusing private conversations. How much should we actually worry about that? Ryan and Dan think there are plenty of reasons to steer clear of those risks.

Dan might even make http://CloudFree.Tech a thing one day. He can make your home run with all of the features and convenience of a virtual voice assistant, without the need for any Google, Facebook, government, or even internet. It's cloud free tech and you should contact Dan (http://ymb.tc/contact) if you want to learn more.

Also this week: Is there a paper dollar for every digital dollar? What can we remember from the 90s? And how do those spammy ads always make us click things that we don't want to click?

Rank #7: Iran Cracks Down on Crypto - YMB Podcast E249

Podcast cover

This is episode 249 of You, Me, and BTC – your liberty and Bitcoin podcast.

A few weeks back, we covered several aspects of Signal censorship (http://ymb.tc/e240). Many governments (Iran is particularly egregious) block apps and services they don’t like. And lots of them dislike Signal because it lets people stay private.

It appears that Iran now has similar concerns about cryptocurrency. Over the past few months, authorities began cutting off access to crypto exchanges like Binance. Theoretically, they’re concerned that cryptocurrency will enable capital flight and accelerate the demise of Iran’s already-plummeting national currency, the rial.

This week, we want to approach this story from several angles. Politically, we have to ask why Iran is so committed to censoring so much. Monetarily, we want to compare this situation to the way things have been in Venezuela (http://ymb.tc/e222) for some time. And technically, we want to share what makes this kind of censorship possible. Apparently, even VPNs can’t get around this firewall.

We have tons to get to tonight and you do not want to miss one bit. Check the list below for some of the specific stories we’ll cover and tune in live at 9PM Eastern!

- Crypto Exchanges Are Suddenly Being Censored In Iran

This is episode 6 of a brand new YMB Network show with a brand new host. It’s Unpopular Opinions with Ryan Tofil and it’s gonna rock your socks, wind your clocks, and knock you off your blocks.

Video games are great. You know it, I know it, and we all know it. But lately, many games failed to become quite so great. And naturally, that’s because we’re ruining them! We send prices to the moon and take games out of the hands of people that really want to play them. Ryan is fired up and he’s gonna tell you about it.

In other news, a human being was thrown off a twenty food structure and nobody watching helped. They just yelled.

Perhaps earning the name Unpopular Opinions more than any other segment in this show’s history, one Asian guy and one white guy talk about the N-word ruining people’s lives. In a very controversial bit, the boys explain why they have a problem with some of the scenarios in which people get punished for using the term.

Byran Chai returns this week and Unpopular Opinions is as unpopular as ever. Don’t miss it!

What an illustrious run it has been. Fifty episodes. Tim would like to extend his deepest gratitude to all you listeners for supporting him every step of the way. He'd probably never acknowledge your service on the show, but he's always thinking about it while recording.

This week he's going back to the basics. He'll fill you in on everything he's wasting his life doing these days (or not doing, as the case may be). Tim had a birthday last week and made the mistake of going out. And unfortunately, he didn't even get intoxicated enough to enjoy himself with the other drunken revelers.

When the company behind wallet, Bitfi, offered hundreds of thousands of dollars to anyone who could crack it, hackers got to work. We’ll have all the details and reactions tonight.
