Awesome Podcast with great content and guests

By Oldwell Jim - Jun 02 2020
Read more
I started listening to this Podcast last year when I was learning more about SEO, social media and small business online marketing. During the time I was taking a SEO course on Coursera from UC Davis and Rich's podcast was awesome supplementary content to learn even more. Although I decided to not go into the SEO field for a profession, I am still listening to the podcast and will use many of the insights I gained and am still gaining when I start my own corporate training and development company later this year. I especially loved the most recent episode about optimizing my LinkedIn profile which will help my business get started strong. Thanks Rich for the awesome podcast and sharing your experience and network with the world. Congrats on 300 and I hope you make it to 3,000!!!!

Rank #8: SEO Secrets for Small Business Websites - Eric Enge

Podcast cover
Read more

Every business needs to know what language their customers are using because that means you can relate better to them. When you relate to them in a way they understand, they will buy your products and services. And this is why SEO is so important, it makes your website easy for both users and the search engine “robots” to understand when you cater to what they’re looking for.

The best way to speak the language of your potential customers is to do some research into what they’re “saying” when they go searching online, by looking at keywords. When you can narrow down the key search words that are most commonly being used, you are that much more likely to rank higher in Google search. And then you can take it even further and see what keywords your competitors are using and how those stack up against your own keywords.

For business owners, it’s been pounded into our heads that we need to build our email lists. Build your list and email your audience with content, information and special offers. Sure, email is great, but do you realize the average person that owns a smartphone has it in their hand almost every 7 minutes? So doesn’t it make sense to hit them up where they’re hanging out? Texting isn’t just a convenient way to chat with our family and friends, it’s also a powerful mobile marketing tool.

If you’re doing it in a purely opt in way, and offering some form of attractive incentive, texting can offer you benefits over other forms of marketing. Texting is quick, interactive and pretty inexpensive. It’s also a great way to send out time sensitive information, whereas if you were to send an email, that may not be opened by the intended recipient until the next time they log into their laptop or PC.

Brian Mikes completely immersed himself in the world marketing, learning online marketing, email marketing, SEO and online advertising. Now he teaches the benefits and profitability of text message marketing.
