I have listened to a good number of productivity podcasts but I have to say that Jeff’s are the most well-rounded, interesting and informational that I’ve found. I really look forward to my early morning time or commute time in order to listen to these (sometimes more than once). Thanks for these, Jeff, they are amazing!

Episode Summary

This may be the most common question on this show, but how can someone truly wake up at 5:00 am?

In this week's episode of The 5 AM Miracle I get back to the basics of the podcast and discuss the fundamentals of waking up early consistently.

In the Tip of the Week segment I share my updated checklist for my FBOTs (focused blocks of time), plus a new app to block distracting websites.

  1. Mornings 101 Series [Great way to get started with early mornings]
  2. Freedom [Block distracting sites on any device]

My FBOT Checklist (Focused Blocks of Time)

  1. Get a snack and a drink (usually bananas/Clif Bars and water/coffee/tea)

  4. Turn OFF iPhone and hide it (without hiding it I will habitually check my phone)
  5. Light the candle (I just like to burn things)
  6. Set the timer (I use Nice Timer on my mac)
  7. Turn on Freedom (block distracting sites on any device)
  8. Turn on Focus@Will (productivity music designed by neuroscientists)

Episode Summary

Ready to jump start the new year feeling your best (and weighing less)? In this week's episode of The 5 AM Miracle Podcast I speak with Tanya Zuckerbrot, author of the popular weight loss book, The F-Factor Diet.

Tanya Zuckerbrot

Tanya Zuckerbrot, MS, RD, is a nationally-known dietitian and the creator of the renowned F-Factor Diet, the only dietitian-created program for weight-loss and optimal health that is based on fiber-rich nutrition. Tanya has worked in private practice in Manhattan for more than 20 years and her success was profiled in the Sunday Styles section of The New York Times.

The F-Factor Diet evolved from Tanya’s early work with patients to help lower cholesterol or control diabetes. She discovered that all of her patients improved their clinical conditions – and lost weight without hunger- by following a lifestyle diet that was rich in dietary fiber.

Tanya is the author of two bestselling weight loss books: The F-Factor Diet: Discover the Secret to Permanent Weight Loss (2006, G.P Putnam & Sons), and The Miracle Carb Diet: Make Calories and Fat Disappear the F-Factor Way – with Fiber! (2012, Hyperion).
