20: Sufi Tetragrammaton

An experiential podcast with Rak Razam and special guest, Sufi academic Wahid Azal. In which is discussed the feminine Godhead (Sophia) which preceeds the masculine Logos, the two trees of knowledge in the Garden of Eden, and the synergy between Hebrew, Islamic and Christian religions, amongst other things... Wahid is the sheik of an Iranian Sufi mystic order that uses an ayahuasca analogue–haoma–as its active sacrament and here he expounds at length about the mystic traditions of the Middle East and the entheogenic sacraments that catalyzed them. Sufism predates Islam and Wahid's order–Fatimiya–believes in multiple levels of divinity, where the Word of God is in the book, not the many prophets of God, and where they worship the daughter of the prophet Mohammed as the representation of the Godhead-ess. The entheogenic use of plants within these secret sects of Sufis has been underground for millennia and is again sprouting in some areas of the Middle East, despite persecution from the mainstream religions. Wahid discusses the ancient entheogenic use of acacias, blue lotus, psilocybin, syrian rue and haoma as well as the unspeakable name(s) of God–in Greek the Tetragrammaton (the four lettered name of God), the Logos, and the other trigger words to invoke the vibrational essence of the divine. 48: Digital Mystery Schools

Subversive independent documentary maker Ben Stewart, of The Esoteric Agenda and Kymatica fame talks with experiential journalist Rak Razam. What is the nature of media in todays social networked world, where millions of people download documentaries like Stewart's to explore the nature of reality? How does this 'subversive' infotainment change the hierarchical control and flow of information? As the 'conspiracy' stream evolves into a more whole system spiritual context, are these YouTube docos a rough type of digital mystery school, educating the global masses? Are these filmmakers fulfilling a shamanic need to bring to light repressed material for healing and transformation? Art is magic, so are DIY 'bedroom filmmakers' uploading a media spell to break the hold of Hollywood on the consciousness of the world? 52: Mum and Dad aren't Shamans

Experiential journalist Rak Razam gets all down-to-earth with Shane and Margaret, shamanic practitioners–not shamans!–in Australia trained in the Peruvian style with both Wachuma and Ayahuasca entheogenic sacraments, and part of the spiritual business of the second generation of the global shamanic resurgence. Hear their intimate stories of shamanic initiation and the challenges they and healers like them across the plantet face as they work their local communities. How much of the indigenous practice can be incorporated in the Western model without a type of spiritual imperialism encroaching? Shane and Margaret, affectionately known as "Mother" and "Father" by their clients, often young "chicks" under their wing, create space as the new elders to undergo classic initiation rites, as foretold by the Peruvian legend of the Eagle and the Condor. As the rise of Western Shamans continues are we seeing the rebirth of the Children of the Sun, or a mongrel spirituality? A laid-back, family conversation with mum and dad, not shamans. 116: From the Darkness, the Light

Many cultures have had the idea of retreating to complete darkness to initiate an alchemical transformation of consciousness that brings about the spiritual light. PRISM is a spiritual seeker that attended a dark room ritual in Thailand and here with experiential journalist Rak Razam they discuss endogenous tryptamines, 5-MeO-DMT and the light within, and the process of the dark room ritual. The Tao says the dark turns into the light; science says that in darkness for sufficient time tryptophan in the brain will produce pinoline, 5-MeO-DMT and N,N, DMT. What is the process of a dark room ritual like? Could YOU stay ten days in total, unrelenting darkness, taking care of all your bodily functions? In these revolutionary times are we undergoing a planetary darkness whose object is a similar pressure to reveal our own light? 75: A Revolution in Consciousness

Art: Beau Deeley Experiential journalist Rak Razam talks with journalist and filmmaker Charles Shaw (the Exile Nation) about the consciousness revolution and the value of the psychedelic and shamanic experience in today's culture–on the point of global collapse. The history of the counterculture has been interwoven with not just that of the mainstream, but of black ops like MK-Ultra detouring and shaping the cultural history. From claims of Gordon Wasson's involvement with the elites and CIA to the use of LSD as a soma for the anti-war movement, are things that different with today's 'conscious festival culture'? Has the revolutionary act of altered states been commodified and controlled, and are we in a state of collective denial about the context and proper use of transcendence? Are neo-shamans and the New Age movement experiencing spiritual growth in a planetary battery farm? Can we explore the shadow within ourselves and the planetary shadow to collectively strategize ways forward–in the face of authoritarian control? 112: The Second Wave

James Oroc, author of The Tryptamine Palace and the forthcoming “The Second Psychedelic Revolution” shares a provocative conversation with Rak Razam. Was the psychedelic culture of the 1960s just the latest wave of consciousness that crests and ebbs over larger tracts of time? And is there now a second wave manifesting in our culture? How many times has this happened before with indigenous cultures across the world? What natural rhythms support the blossoming of the psychedelic connection? Is Gaia tuning us in to herself and right relationship in direct response to the ecological crisis? Is each wave a stepping stone going deeper into shamanic realms and higher and higher realms of consciousness expressing and knowing itself? How to best describe the relationship between the Source, universal mind, and the ego? Is the rise of 5-MeO-DMT helping groom our relationship with direct Source within this current consciousness wave? Are these the times we’ve been waiting for? Join Rak and Roc in a paradigm shattering overview of psychedelic history, MK-Ultra, William Burroughs, Tim Leary, DMT, the 1960s, Eckhart Tolle, the quantum field, 5-MeO-DMT, love and consciousness itself. 82: The Cannabis Shaman

Experiential journalist Rak Razam interviews Hamilton Souther, one of the more prominent Western ayahuasca shamans and the founder of the Blue Morpho lodge outside Iquitos. Souther is also pioneering 'Cannabis Shamanism' using the songs and structure of his ayahuasca lineage with cannabis as the active sacrament. Cannabis has been revered as sacred by Hindus, Rastafarians and others, and with Souther's '420 Shamanism' movement there is the opportunity to resacralize the West's dominant recreational drug into something more, at the same time as marijuana legalisation sweeps America. If recreation and medical use of marijuana is becoming accepted, can spiritual use as well? Is this the start of a cannabis-shamanism revival, as the modality of shamanism itself crosses the tipping point into the mainstream? Souther shares his initiation story on the shamanic path, the difficulties of training as a Westerner and the secret bias towards many Westerners from local practitioners. How do we separate the indigenous wisdom from the dogma to apply shamanic training for the modern world? How do we become our own Western Shamans, not culturally repackaged copies? How far can we integrate and change the existing styles? For instance, as well as integrating icaros or healing sounds into Western dance music for consciousness expansion, Souther is about to sing his healing in ceremony, livestreaming across the internet in a 21st century 'distributed shamanism' modality. A provocative interview that will challenge your conceptions of what shamanism is, and how it can be integrated into the West… The 420 Cannabis Shamanism Movement launches April 20th, 2014. For more information, see: http://hamiltonsouther.org/The groundbreaking shamanic documentary Aya: Awakenings is now available for viewing and download on Vimeo on Demand and you can read the book that inspired the film and join the discussion on our Facebook page. 97: BEING MARTIN

Join experiential journalist Rak Razam and author, visionary artist, musician, podcaster and entheogenic explorer Martin Ball, Ph.D., as they engage in a far-reaching discussion about entheogens, DMT, “radical nonduality” and the Mind of GOD. Ball is one of the pre-eminent experts on 5-MeO-DMT, having written about it in his book Being Human, and other books like Being Infinite. Sacred icons like Terence McKenna, the shamanic paradigm, entities and the projections of the ego are dissected… Should we evolve the ego, not eliminate it, in altered states? What is Mirrored Bilateral Symmetry and how does tryptamine activation express itself in this symmetry in our body? Is this the origin of yogic mudras and asanas? Do fractals point to a language of the Divine? Is God lonely? Listen to this rare meeting of minds as Razam and Ball compare experiential field notes on their 5-MeO-DMT journeys and discuss Ball's theory of The "Entheological Paradigm," a Grand Unified Theory of all of reality from God to the direct experience of each human being. For more info: www.martinball.net/. 104: OMG

A deeply personal post-ayahuasca sharing session in Peru, April 2015, with Rak Razam and Meriana Dinkova. After recent inoculations with the 5-MeO-DMT sacred medicine of the Bufo Alvarius toad, which induced a full spectrum remembrance of unity consciousness (i.e., GOD), Razam has noticed that the 5MEO circuit is consistently re-activated on other entheogens and indeed, is the ON Switch inside us all. This conversation was held directly after a second ayahuasca retreat session which triggered hours long immersion into the 5MEO light field, and a corresponding decompression of language and integration. It’s all words, dear listener. What is offered here is the act of languagizing itself, a sacred pillow-talk conversation about God as a unified field and the relationship of co-discovery between the Creator and the Created. So you recognize divinity: Now what? Before enlightenment: chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment: chop wood, carry water. What is the value of enlightenment? Photo: Ben Hewett. JOIN US! 78: Psilohuasca

Experiential journalist Rak Razam interviews a legal psilocybin shamanic facilitator from the Netherlands, Olli, where the mushroom sclerotia ('Philosopher Stones') are a legal thing to possess and ingest. Olli has been working with mushrooms for over 20 years, and here we discuss potentiating them with a MAO-inhibitor, just like ayahausca does in its brew, and the benefits of 'psilohuacsa'. We examine the issues around both ayahuasca and its resource management and the advantages of locally-sourced entheogens in native settings, and the role of the magic mushroom as a global sacrament for healing and enlightenment. The role of neo-shamans like Olli in the West using entheogenic sacraments is explored, and the history of mushroom use in Europe. Moreover, Olli discusses the heart-opening, ego-dissolving experience of high dose psilocybin to bring us back into unity consciousness and the need for such remembrances in today's world. Art: Adam Taylor Experiential journalist Rak Razam talks with DJ and "post-rave intentional dance community advocate and facilitator" Sobey Wing about conscious festival culture and the evolution of the tribal mind. Many societies have rites of passage for initiation and marking milestones in personal and tribal evolution, and today's conscious festival culture provides a space where that initiation can happen. But how can we learn from and embrace indigenous cultures without appropriating from them? Can we use the sacred songs of the land to reconnect us in our dance and "reindigenize" the West? How can we balance hedonism with radical community, capitalist modes of festivals with sustainability and spirituality? How can we use the Temporary Autonomous Zone (TAZ) of festivals as incubators for new modes of tribal evolution that can be integrated into the larger mainstream culture? 93: Grace and Madness

Ayahuasca tourism is on the rise, for better or worse. Join experiential journalist Rak Razam as he meets the kingmaker of Peruvian ayahuasca tourism, Alan Shoemaker, on the Boulevard in Iquitos. Shoemaker is an influential and sometimes controversial gringo in the global ayahausca scene, and author of the recent Ayahuasca Medicine: The Shamanic World of Amazonian Sacred Plant Healing. Once a curandero-in-training with various curanderos himself, he was part of the early 1990s wave of western gringos drawn to Peru and engaging with indigenous shamanism. He has successfully run businesses that revolve around ayahuasca shamanism, from ayahuasca tour groups to founding the annual Amazonian Shaman Conference. He has also founded Soga Del Alma–the Vine of the Soul church, been an exporter of medicinal plants, and been busted by the American authorities and forced to become a fugitive. And as the wave of ayahuasca tourism has increased almost exponentially in recent years, Shoemaker has played an active role, promoting his conference, shamans, and pathways to hungry western audiences. But what are the repercussions of ayahuasca tourism? What are the effects on indigenous culture, and how do westerners mediate the two worlds of Grace & Madness?
