Rank #1: Kyler Murray wins and why bowl results are dangerous.
Kyler Murray won the Heisman! Braden releases his ballot and why he voted for who he did. Did Tua deserve to win and who the hell left him off their ballots? Georgia Tech and Kansas State have made two solid hires as well as Liberty! (Yes, Liberty) The coordinator carousel is spinning. And bowl games: Do the results matter or tell us anything about how good a team or league is? And do we have an issue with all these star players sitting out their team's bowl game?
Rank #2: Rankings Reaction and Week 10 Preview: THE BEST SATURDAY EVER!.
The guys react to the first college football playoff rankings of the year. What did they learn and what does it all mean!?! Then it's on to what could be the best weekend of college football this season! The SEC title game matchup could be decided as LSU hosts Bama while Kentucky welcomes UGa in what is arguably the biggest game in school history. Meanwhile, Michigan tries to strengthen it's grasp on the Big Ten and Northwestern tries to ruin Notre Dame's season. Texas hosts West Virginia and Texas Tech hosts Oklahoma in two Big 12 showdowns. And Utah could all but clinch the South with a road win over Arizona State?
With the help of players, coaches, TV analysts, school administrators and NCAA officials, AP College Football Writer Ralph Russo tackles on-and off-field issues affecting the sport throughout the year. The show gives everyone from the casual fan to the obsessed alum, an insider look into the AP Poll and all that is trending on campuses around the country. Be ready for the big game, signing day or spring practice with this weekly chat about college football.
Rank #1: California Pushes NCAA Toward the Inevitable.
A new California law is pushing the NCAA toward allowing college athletes to make money off their names, images and likenesses. It is being built up as tipping point for college athletics, a change in the landscape that could finally bring the NCAA down. But in reality, it is just forcing the NCAA to do something it probably should have done a long time ago. Andy Staples from The Athletic joins AP’s Ralph Russo to talk about the consequences, intended and unintended, from Fair Pay to Play and why fans shouldn’t fear this being what ruins college sports. Also, during the first month of the season the gap between Clemson and Alabama and the field seems to have closed. And Andy talked to Gus Malzahn about why the Auburn coach went back to calling plays. The Tigers face Florida in the game of the week in college football.
Rank #2: Strange Days at USC and Michigan.
There is so much more than a Clay Helton hot-watch going on at the University of Southern California these days. ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg joins AP’s Ralph Russo to discuss the Trojans. Both were in LA for last week’s game against Utah, which had plenty of side stories with Reggie Bush and Urban Meyer in the Coliseum. Rittenberg and Russo look back at Michigan’s mess, discuss the odd news out of Houston regarding star quarterback D’Eriq King deciding to sit out the rest of this season, and they search for second-tier playoff contenders. Plus, what will it take for Jonathan Taylor to run past a slew of talented quarterbacks and win the Heisman?

Hello and Welcome to the Alabama Football Podcast! We’re glad you found us.But who are we? Fair question. We’re Tom and Dave, Alabama graduates and big college football fans. However, we have a unique and intense passion for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Over the years we’ve spent countless hours talking about the Alabama Football team and one day in 2010 we got the idea that we should turn our idle talk into a podcast, and so was born the Alabama Football Podcast. The original podcast branded as such.In early 2014 we were offered the opportunity to merge our football podcast with BamaHammer dot com, one of the leading Alabama sports sites around and we’re looking forward to using this platform to help us reach and forge relationships with even more Alabama fans who enjoy a little intelligent and opinionated football talk.We trust you’ll enjoy our show and we welcome your feedback. We’re reachable via the BamaHammer website or directly at AlabamaFootballPodcast (@) gmail dot com.In the meantime, Roll Tide.
Rank #1: 2019 Alabama vs. Clemson.
Alabama Football Podcast Breaks Down 2019 National Title Game 2019 Championship Game Alabama vs Clemson In this episode Tom and Dave from the Alabama Football Podcast breakdown the Tide’s disappointing outing in San Clara against the Clemson Tigers Not What We Had in Mind While I’m certain much of the college football world was pleased to see Alabama get their tails thumped, the honest ones will admit to not expecting it. Not to subtract from Clemson’s talent and performance on the field, the Tide’s miscues weighed heavily in this contest. Tua logged only six interceptions on the season and the two against Clemson were promptly cashed in for touchdowns. Alabama fans, as frequent beneficiaries, will attest little good can come from spotting a quality opponent 14 points. Likewise arm-chair quarterbacks, regardless of affiliation, will universally expect a team to, almost by accident, register more than 9 points when given five separate trips inside their opponents 22, with three reaching Clemson’s 3-yard line or better. Alas, such observations, without regard to their accuracy, are only taken as sour grapes so for the purposes of this report we’ll move on. But if you wish to indulge this line of thought further, then you must check out our game wrap up show. Lack of Depth Catches Up Depth across each level of the defense was a concern leading into the 2018 season. The starting three defensive linemen featured a new starter and little proven depth. While the outside linebacking corps was deep prior to injuries, the middle ‘backers were paper thin. And the secondary was replacing all six players from the 2017 dime package. This too before injury struck. Clemson, a team skilled and deep enough to take advantage, did just so. Injured pass rushers conspired with an overmatched secondary to create a buffet of passing opportunities for the Tigers wunderkind QB. Ultimately, the Tide’s misfiring offense pared with a gracious defense made for a long night. Players Leaving As is an annual ritual, several Alabama players are electing to forgo their senior seasons in chase of NFL fortunes. While all departing players will be missed, some may be better prepared than others for the jump. We offer a couple bold opinions on who may be making the best or worst decisions. Coaches Moving On Similarly the Tide coaching staff is frequent target for promotion and pillage and the 2018 staff is no exception. Here again, some exits are logical and others less so. Gone So Soon And so another college football season is in the books. I am forever reminded of the laments of the late, great Beano Cook. We wait so long for the season to arrive and then it goes so fast. Mini Game balls Anyone can read a headline, but which players contributed in more subtle ways to the Tide’s fortune? Next Up This year we hope to more actively weigh-in on a range of off-season topics; recruiting, coaching changes, transfers, and spring drills. We hope you’ll join us in the discussion.
Rank #2: 2018 Alabama vs. Clemson.

In this episode Tom and Dave from the Alabama Football Podcast breakdown the Tide’s Alabama’s dominating performance against the Clemson Tigers. Going brief on the show notes since we’re late getting this posted.
