In today’s episode, we’re going to be focusing more specifically on how we can talk to our daughters about sex and relationships, dressing in a way that honors Christ, and how to approach them during their teenage years. It’s impossible to prevent our daughters from being subjected to all sorts of information on social media, and in their social circles, but the important thing is that you are giving them the truth. In order to be in a position where our daughters feel like they have a soft place to land and they trust our guidance, it’s important that we spend quality time with them. Throughout her life, Kim has visited 41 countries; and she talks us through some of these experiences and how she has seen the Lord move. From an agnostic teenager to a devout Christian, Kim’s journey to God is one that highlights how being an obedient Christian can have an incredible impact on other people’s lives. We hear how being in the darkest places can minimize the divides and the importance of denominations between Christians, and how God answered Kim’s prayers in the most obvious fashion. Today we hear from Kristin’s friend, and missionary mother Christy Allen about how being a mother is being a missionary, and what she learned on her missions throughout South and Southeast Asia. Christy grew up in a missionary family and spent time in the Philippines, where she learned that there is nothing too small to pray about, and how you see life through the lens your parents do. Moving back to the USA at the age of 14 gave Christy a new insight into God’s plan and how she gave her life to it. When Jeannie Hodges Peoples was pregnant with her second child, soon after finding out that she was going to be having a girl, she also discovered that her daughter was going to be born with Down’s Syndrome. Later in life, Dana was also diagnosed with autism and epilepsy, and although Jeannie and her husband, James, do mourn the loss of the life they had imagined, they have found so much joy in their journey with Dana, and they feel honored that God chose them for this task.
