Sorry for the delay getting this episode out – I’ve been traveling.  On my travels I made a new list to take to an upcoming tournament.  A tournament Zinger joins Chris and Paul today and he asks the question..  Could we expect point hikes in Chapter Approved?   I told him that was tomorrow’s problem and then we chat about the list.  Tell us where we went wrong?

Hi guys

Matt Bodnarchuk joins us for this episode to talk a bit about a new Space Marine list Paul kicked up.

We talk some about the new Impulsor.  This take is positioned to make a pretty big impact with his functionality or durability if you choose to build it out that way.  The list is a Captain – to be upgraded to a Chapter Master, a Lieutenant, 2 units of Intercessors with the Stalker Bolt Rifles, 2 units of Scouts,  3 Thunderfire cannons, 2 Invictor Warsuits, 1 Contemptor Dread with C-beams, 2 Impulsors, 2 Stormhawks and 2 Stormtalons.  I plan to push it up in your face while the firebase rains lead on you from a distance.  Wish me luck.. I have to build and paint the whole thing in 3 weeks.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

The Wrong Way Kids will be putting on their first official public event later this year the Armageddon Series: Coastal Assault. Tickets are up for sale right now. Please join us. You will have a good time. It will be a full ITC format event and an excellent opportunity to get ITC overall and faction points.

Chris comes in hot with a Finishing Moves segment about flame and fire.  He’s a dwarf at heart and he learned a new trick with Fire this week and tells us about his strategy.  Find some pics over on our facebook page.

f

Adam from the Down Under Network joins us this week and brings some super hot tech on how to defeat the Tau Menace using Deathwatch.  We talk about Raven Guard and discuss the virtues of the Stalker Bolt Rifle.

Hi all,

Adam is such a fun guy to have on and we’re grateful he could take time out of his day to join us.  We discuss his success with with Deathwatch and we discuss some dirty dirty things to do with Raven Guard.

We talk about the Raven Guard tactics in context to Aggressors but I think right now Centurions are the way to go.  Over the long run Aggressors are likely the safer bet long term if you are wanting to be careful with your hobby time/dollars.

FTN Episode 304 – Salamanders and Imperial Fists Preview – Fire and Forts

Podcast cover

f

Mega Jam Packed Episode – We kick the show off talking about the Iron Hands FAQ then a community spotlight segment – then Salamanders.. Then ANOTHER community spotlight and then close out with the Imperial Fists.   Two more rock star Marine factions will be hitting the table soon.

Hi all,

Like the blurb above says this is a double sized episode.  We have to community spotlight segments and two mega Marine faction previews.

For me the Salamanders win this round but the Imperial Fists are getting a lot of buzz from the internet.  The Salamanders can dish out a ton of damage at close range and have some pretty fiendish targeting tricks where you can effectively blank someone’s turn.  The Fists can put out a ton of mid range damage and can buff units trying to hold objectives or coming under small arms fire.

FTN Episode 295 – Codex Space Marines – Beware the Invictor

Podcast cover
Read more

We take a deeper dive in Codex Space Marines this week.  In the preshow we tried to make a bare bones Brigade just for the additional Command Points but eh…  It wasn’t working out.  If feel like you had a lot of toys but it wasn’t a cohesive force of supportive units… Listen to figure out where we went wrong.

Hey guys,

The reviews are in.  The Space Marines are good with lots of good units.  There have been improvement to existing units and some brand new units to choose from.  The Invictor Warsuit is one of those units.  Man…   It’s taken some heat due to the model but the rules are banging.

In the last updates units like Aggressors and Inceptors got improvements but they are even better now with the Shock Assault rule and an increase to their wounds and attacks.  This is before you add in Chapter Tactics.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

The hard part will be deciding what to take.  Like we kick off with, the challenge will be figuring out how to make a ‘cohesive’ and supportive force.  Units like the Chaplain are going to assist with this.  They are basically an auto include how with their ability to buff themselves and the units around them.  What do you think?  What are you most looking forward to about getting it on the table?

The Wrong Way Kids will be putting on their first official public event later this year the Armageddon Series: Coastal Assault. Tickets are up for sale right now. Please join us. FTN Episode 294 – NEW Codex Space Marines Preview – 2019

Podcast cover

Hot off the presses we take a first glance at the new Codex Space Marines.  There is TON of good stuff in here.  It’s a must have for any Marine player.

Hey hey

We give our first impressions of the Codex Space Marines.  There is too much here to go over in one podcast.. There will be more.

This is an army builders paradise.  The old units are good, the new units are good.. there are tons of combos and options.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

The Drop Pod assault is going to be a real thing. We suggest bringing in empty pods just to score objective points.  If you play against someone with pods, be aware!  Don’t let them rack up free easy to get points if you can avoid it.  Space Marines Players – these will be easy to get points.. ha.   But that’s ok. It will be nice to see this iconic vehicle back on the table.

The Wrong Way Kids will be putting on their first official public event later this year the Armageddon Series: Coastal Assault. Tickets are up for sale right now. Please join us. FTN Episode 298 – Admech Transports Change the Game

Podcast cover
Read more

f

We kick the show off talking a little bit about the Space Marine FAQ and the Drop Pod nerf.  Reggie Sanchez from the Crucible joins Paul and Josh to talk about the success of Admech at the NOVA Open and how their new transport breathes a TON of new life into that faction.

Hey guys,

We don’t spend a ton of time on the Marine FAQ but the changes to the Drop Pods via the errata are interesting.  I feel like the original rule was incredibly intentional but we see that the clear intent for the game as a whole is to have all your toys on the table by turn 3.   I don’t mean to say that we won’t see things that break that rule but the rules writers don’t seem to want that to be ‘too accessible.’  Cheaper Drop Pods meant we were going to see it a lot.  I mention this on the show but as a positive I think we’ll see a ton more diversity in Marine builds and there will be many fewer feel bad games against them.

Adeptus Mechanicus…  We haven’t covered it much and that is a clear misstep on our part.  The success of the Skorpius Dunerider and the Disentigrator at the NOVA speaks for itself.  Tons of shots, tons of wounds and can be a target for Admech Stratagems.  The secret is out on these things and we think it’s going to bring about a host of new Admech builds.  This is a good thing.  The Adeptus Mechanicus is one of the unique factions at Games Workshop that doesn’t share inspiration from another universe.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

Reggie tells us about the Crucible.  The tournament is coming up next month in Orlando.  This is a can’t miss event for a lot of people.  Please consider putting it on your schedule.    It’s the 3rd event in the Armageddon Series.  Many awesome prizes will be awarded and you get to play against some of the best 40k players in the world.

The Wrong Way Kids will be putting on their first official public event later this year the Armageddon Series: Coastal Assault. Tickets are up for sale right now. Please join us. Firmer Terra unveiled a new product that you need.  It’s called the Omicron Battle System.  Its a game tool organizer.  Check it out!   The Finishing Moves segment is all about painting Black.  We discuss a new way to do it just in time for Raven Guard and Iron Hands releases..

FTN Episode 291 – Here Come The Chaos Knights – Review

Podcast cover
Read more

Paul and Skari from the Skaredcast team up again to talk about the Chaos Knight codex.  Despite their creepy and bulky visage these things can be fast!   Expect quality shooting from giant robots that zip all around the battlefield.

Hey all

Paul and Skari make our way through the Chaos Knight Codex.  It’s a thin but neat book.  The Knights don’t get the variety of multiple distinct houses like their imperial cousins but they more than make up for it with the sheer usefulness of their traits, stratagems and relics.

There are a TON of good options here.  You can make a knight a psyker.. you can make psyskers fear your knight.  You can be super stompy… You can be super killy… Basically you build out a knight that you think best suits your list design and not be encumbered by a specific paint scheme (if you like to mix lore with your stats).

Every section of this book contains a few gems and this snuggles right up to the Chaos Soup lists out there right now.

Finishing moves is back where we talk a little bit more on Contrast paints and the practical application.   Please hit me up on instagram @fightswithdice or on twitter @warmaster_tpm to see the Pink Horrors we talk about on the show.

Podcast cover

Back from the Ironman and getting set for the ATC – Paul gives a brief rundown on the games he played last weekend.  In the middle of the show we’re joined by Adam Camilleri from the Down Under Network then we close out talking about the top 5 Stratagems in the game and meta shifts.

Hey all

4-1!  Not bad…  I played against great opponents this past weekend and a variety of lists.  I’ll definitely be back next year to this event.  I had a blast and it was nice to test my ATC list a little early against an ‘all comers’ field.

I talk a little bit about the games in the first part of the show.  Then I sit down with Adam Camilleri from the Down Under Network.  They are really helping the scene on the other side of the world.  We’ll be checking in with them again for sure.

In the last part of the show we kick the segment off talking about Meta Shifts at tournaments but then segue to talk about the top 5 Stratagems.  Please let us know where went wrong.

To us, the Vect effects take the top prize followed by a controversial choice of Veterans of the Long War.   Please let us know your top five on our facebook page or comment on the post.

For hobby progress..   This is the one or two week break between tournaments.  I’m letting the brush rest. Ha!  Back to it soon.

FTN Episode 287 – Evolve or Die! All the Top Players are Doing It

Podcast cover
Read more

The title is a little tongue in cheek but the sentiment is real.  Last year and early this year we saw some lists emerge as the clear tournament juggernauts.   Now the field is wide open and we’ve seen a good amount of variance on the table.  We’re no where close to stagnation but the tides are continuing to turn.

Hey all

In the first part of the show we basically tee up the second part..  Superstar Jim Vesal joins us again to talk about his continued tournament success and falling just short of a couple of final tables.  Honestly… that happens more than we care to think but it’s given us an opportunity to speak about retrospection in his games and how to look at situations that may have truly been avoidable through a different line of play.

Jim is wonderful to speak with and we really appreciate him coming on.  It will be fun to track his lists and progress through this tournament season.  He’s coming south of the border and will be playing at the ATC.  It will be nice to run into him and lock horns if we’re able.

Chris and Josh jump back in for the last part of the show.  We talk a little bit about getting our hands on the Contrast Paint line.  Some people are doing some amazing stuff out there.

We talk a little bit about the evolution of Paul’s guard army.. so much new stuff to paint, ha.  I think I’ve settled on a list and I’ll post it soon if anyone is interested.

We center this around our journeys with Orks and Astra Militarum but this sort of thing applies to all lists.

Paul and Ricky pull down a two-hander in this episode.  We cover some tech from the Ultramarines Supplement.  The rules are compelling enough to break the ‘build molds’ from the previous Codex.  Games Workshop has made following the Codex Astartes pretty sexy.

Hey all,

Robute Gilliman is no longer an auto include if you’re fielding the boys in blue.  Its kinda neat that this codex has busted the door wide open.  I’ve been in conversations all week with my playtest buddies about what the ‘best’ things to use are and the jury is still out.

Some folks are telling me that I’m foolish to include the Invictor Warsuit.  Those people are obviously crazy, right?!    Taking two Battalions and Calgar nets you 15 Command Points before you start getting one back a turn. This means you may end up with MORE than enough CP to pull off the spicy tricks every turn of the game.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

Calgar, a Chaplain with a jump pack, Chronos in a Diemos Vindicator Laser Destroyer, Tigerious, 3 Intercessor Squads, 3 Scout Squads, 2 Drop Pods, 3 Invictor Warsuits, 2 Eliminator Squads, a Squad of Inceptors and a squad of Aggressors is right around 2k points.  This is a rough draft of an untested list but once you add in a few Stratagem tricks I think this list may have some legs.

The Wrong Way Kids will be putting on their first official public event later this year the Armageddon Series: Coastal Assault. Tickets are up for sale right now. Please join us. You will have a good time. It will be a full ITC format event and an excellent opportunity to get ITC overall and faction points.

We proudly represent Firmer Terra as well. I had a great time speaking with one of the founders and I thought their offering would be PERFECT for a lot of gamers out there. Right now they are offering impressive shipping promotions to buyers in the US. Please check them out.

In the last segment we talk about ‘Counts As’ Space Marine forces.  There seems to be a lot of feel bads around people using attractive rules with armies they don’t feel like are painted the right color.  Is this fair?  What matters most to you?  Is being WYSIWYG enough?

FTN Episode 311 – What’s The Point? Chapter Approved 2019 Review

Podcast cover
Read more

Adam and Paul hit a few highlights from Chapter Approved.  There are SWEEPING point changes and we aren’t able to get to them all but we do focus on a few of the more dramatic changes for under performing factions – like Grey Knights.

Hi all,

Its hard not to talk about Blood Angels the whole time but I promise this episode is about something else!   The point changes in Chapter Approved 2019 materially change the game for the better.  There are changes to almost every under performing faction.  If you liked what you were able to take before you’ll get to take more of it.  If your favorite unit was a little too unwieldy to get on the table – you’ll probably get to use it now.

We talk about Grey Knights.  They get some pretty interesting point changes that should set them up quite nicely for the next Psychic Awakening book.  It will be neat to see how this faction evolves as it got left behind in 8th edition so far.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

Chaos Daemons will see a change to the archetype list people have been fielding. I’m curious how this will play out because this is a little bit of a nerf to how people have been playing the faction.  It’s possible this will help another power build emerge from the Codex.  It’s clear these changes have an eye on balance and game-play.

Next week we should have an update on the winners of the Armageddon Series. Thanks a lot for following along.

FTN Episode 310 – Blood of Baal – NEW Blood Angels Review

Podcast cover
Read more

What a joyous day!  We dive right in to the Blood Angel updates from the Blood of Baal book up for pre-order right now.  TONS of improvements for our favorite faction.  The Blood Angels will be raining back on the tables and we couldn’t be happier.

Hi guys,

Some of the biggest improvements come in the form of Space Marine stratagems but there are plenty of unique Blood Angel stratagems for the Chapter too.  A lot of them focus on ways to beef up Sanguinary Guard.

These guys got an impressive drop in points to make them an actual reasonable choice to think about putting in your army.  The 2+ save and multi damage weapon will really shine with all these Chapter upgrades.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

The Death Company see a drop in cost per model.  These guys saw fringe play before and surely will now.  You can use their pre game movement and a few ‘gotcha’ Stratagems from this book to really box people in.  Opponents will not be able to get away from these killers.

Next week we should have an update on the winners of the Armageddon Series. Thanks a lot for following along.

FTN Episode 309 – Faith and Fury Spreads the Love

Podcast cover
Read more

I know this is coming a little late but here is our Faith and Fury review.  This book is jam packed with Loyalist and Heretical upgrades.   One of the stand outs is the Master of Sanctity.  Chaplains were right on the cusp of being auto includes but this may have pushed them over the edge.  Don’t worry Chaos fans.. you get plenty in this book too!

Hi all,

It is Chris, Adam, and Paul this week.  In this episode we chat about Faith and Fury.  I totally skip the World Eaters so advanced apologies for that.. Next time!     This book is chock full of upgrades for Loyalist in the form of chapter leader upgrades.  Like I mentioned up top the Chaplain can become a Master of Sanctity and pop off two powers a turn.  In a Centurion driven world that’s going to be a powerhouse.

The Alpha Legion is back in a big way.   The deployment shenanigans are real but now they can also force Vehicles to explode (pretty much).  It may not sound like much but making your opponent dish out a few Mortal Wounds in their own lines could be enough to tip a lot of games in your favor.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

Black Templars get a bit buff in the book too.  This Chapter is a big favorite so expect these guys to get some play for sure.  They get a few of their own Chaplain powers and their name Characters are beefcake.

The Armageddon series was last weekend and we give our impressions this week.  Check out the link here: Armageddon Series: Coastal Assault. I chat with John Moore from the Fog of War Podcast and we both recount some of our experiences.

We did it!  Through some help of friends and some hard work I got the army list ready to take to some upcoming tournaments.  We discuss a test game, the virtues of controlling your own fate and then we ooh and ahh over the new Sisters models.

Hi guys,

Sorry for the late post but having to travel to the tournament over the weekend kept me from getting the show out on time.

The list is fully painted, fits in a travel bag and is ready to go!  We got there.  It was stressful but fun.  Now I can take my time with the details over the next few weeks but the hard part is done.  It’s been a fun adventure over the last few weeks.

FTN Episode 307 – Is it Better to Attack or Join the 40k Tournament Meta?

Podcast cover

If we are correct in predicting that the Salamanders will be the army list to beat soon is it better to get on board the Salamander train or build lists that beat them?  With all the Marine goodness coming out what are the Xenos players taking?  Are Tau the ultimate list?

Hi everyone,

We jump right in taking some major assumptions that Salamanders are going to be strong.  They will be so strong they will attract a lot of fringe Marine players.  Do you beat them or join them?

Tau have a ton of really good options, especially against opponents with limited long range effectiveness.   Armies with gun platform transports are also at a huge advantage.  Right now any unit with 2-3 guns with over 10 wounds is on my watch list for units to take.

Archon Skari joins us this week from the SkaredCast.  He talks about his journey inside the Blackstone Fortress.  We have a hobby segment this week then we talk about some secret Space Marine tech – Spoiler – C-beams are good.

Hey all,

Skari has been digging the Blackstone Fortress recently so we wanted to have him on to talk about it.  Are you playing this board game?  Fancy miniatures and a campaign style experience really make it attractive to me.

In the middle of the episode we emphasize the need write down your paint recipe for bases and models.  Coming back to a project you’ve had sitting on the shelf for years can be a real problem if you can’t remember the colors you chose.  Write down what steps you took and the colors you used.

FTN Episode 302 – Is the ITC House Rule for Flying Vehicles Dumb?

Podcast cover
Read more

f

‘House Rules’ are tricky.   Are we at a place in the game where we need a few to keep the competitive fires stoked?   We tackle a little bit about that question on this show.  We also talk about how Paul was wrong about a Space Marine flyer.

Hey guys,

Space Marines will continue to climb the tournament rankings with their new supplements.  We’ve spent a lot of time talking about Iron Hands but this is only the beginning as generals out there really drive in to the subtleties of the other supplements.

I believe I was completely wrong about the Stormhawk interceptor and you can even make a case for things like the Storm Eagle and Fire Raptor still.  Those things were a little underpowered for their points a few weeks ago but with the addition of the new Space Marine rules – maybe not.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

The ITC has issued some House Rules for their upcoming tournaments that disallow the use of ‘wobbly model’ for Vehicles with the Fly keyword.  You have to be able to completely place the model with NO overhang of it’s footprint (model or the base depending on what you use to measure in the game) on the level it is trying to sit on.  Wobbly Model was been abused to the point of obscenity – not because it doesn’t make sense that a model could fly over the spot but because it prevents interaction of other models in the game.    Is that the intent?  I don’t think so.  This house rule helps address that but is it a bridge too far?

The Wrong Way Kids will be putting on their first official public event later this year the Armageddon Series: Coastal Assault. Tickets are up for sale right now. Please join us. FTN Episode 301 – What is the Best Space Marine Troop Now?

Podcast cover
Read more

f

Episode 301 and we’re talking about Space Marine Troop options.  We cover the ones we really haven’t spoken too much about in the past and that’s a shame…  For my persona list I think I’ve settled on the Incursors but please give it a listen and tell us where we go wrong.  It’s nice having way more than two options to talk about though…

Hey all,

I sort of gave it away in the intro paragraph but there is a lot of variety in the space marine troop section now.  ‘Why’ you’re taking what you’re taking is a much better question to ask now.  You’re not just trying to fill up a battalion or two, you can get some real value out of your troop slots now.

It’s not just a tax or a chumps that will sit in one place on the table.  We hint around this but you get to actually play with your figures again and they can be an active part of your strategy and not just derpy troop pawns.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

In the show I discount the use of Stormhawks.  Since recording I’ve come full circle on that for Iron Hands so expect a little bit of a reversal on that next week.

The Wrong Way Kids will be putting on their first official public event later this year the Armageddon Series: Coastal Assault. Tickets are up for sale right now. Please join us. f

Wow.. 300 of these bad boys.  Thanks for joining us.  We’re joined by Pete Foley from the GW Book and Box studio for a very special segment and look inside one of the design teams.  Later in the show we go over an unconventional Space Marine list that nearly took down a giant tournament.  What are you guys brewing?

Hey guys,

We are incredibly thankful to our special guest, Pete Foley, this week.  We get a candid look into his journey with Games Workshop and some insight to how the current design studio operates. We talk about his involvement in various areas of the company and how he keeps the hobby fresh for himself.

In the second part of the show we talk about a buddy of mine and his ‘unconventional’ Space Marine list.  I say unconventional but this guy has been an innovator in Space Marine list design for years.  It was very interesting to see what he put together.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

His list relies a lot on the Character Auras and Heavy Bolters.  Like.. A lot of Heavy Bolters.  It’s something we’ve flirted a lot with on the show before but he actually made it work.  Another buddy also suggested Contemptor Mortis Dreads with double Lascannon Arms.  For 168ish points and buffs and stratagems you can layer on them they are a compelling option vs Lascannon Predators.

The Wrong Way Kids will be putting on their first official public event later this year the Armageddon Series: Coastal Assault. Tickets are up for sale right now. Please join us. You will have a good time. It will be a full ITC format event and an excellent opportunity to get ITC overall and faction points.

Firmer Terra unveiled a new product that you need. It’s called the Omicron Battle System. Its a game tool organizer. Check it out! The Finishing Moves segment is all about painting Black. We discuss a new way to do it just in time for Raven Guard and Iron Hands releases..

FTN Episode 299 – Welcome Our New Iron Overlords

Podcast cover

f

In this episode we run down the highlights from Codex Supplement Iron Hands and Raven Guard. Both are good and bring a lot to the table for those factions.  The Iron Hands are winning the Space Marines arms race and should be wining games hand over fist.   I’ll show myself out…

Hey all,

We simply gush over the Iron Hands combos and rules this week.  This book is a powerhouse.  It’s hard to not like it because the powers and abilities are themed so well with the lore but man…   It makes for a strong army list. We’ll see a lot of people jumping ship from other Marine factions to play Iron Hands.  Adam Camilleri joins us from the Down Under Network.  You don’t want to miss this.

You can create some impressive gun line castles that will be incredibly hard for your opponent to dig out.  We’ll see some forge world dreads (like Leviathans) that were already popular in tournaments make it to the field with buffed up rules.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

In the second part of the show we talk about the Raven Guard.  The power comes a lot more low key for these guys.  They are good at Stealth and taking out characters.  A lot of their abilities are anchored to that.

The NOVA Open is an amazing convention run by some great friends of the show.  Jim Vesal joins Paul to give his predictions for the NOVA open singles and invitational tournament.  Some of the top players in the world will be gathered and it’s anyone’s game.  We then react to the Games Workshop previews and close out the show talking about ‘how’ to have an army list discussion

Hey hey,

After a brief introduction to the show Paul and Jim jump right into the mix predicting what will reign at the NOVA Open.  It will be interesting to see how close we become when it’s all said and done.  The mission format is a bit different than ITC missions the differences are subtle enough that people may bring a list they’ve been used to rather than something specifically for the format.

Those that are able to really thread the needle on the format differences may have a significant advantage.  The Win/Loss format is very unforgiving.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

Welcome to the Black Parade…   I’m talking about that new Shrike model, ha.  I love it.   We talk about that and the rest of the reveals from the Games Workshop preview.   Those in attendance were gifted a Cannones from the new line and it all looks AMAZING.

We round out the show having a discussion about ‘how’ to discuss army lists with your friends.  Its a neat observation on how we interact with each other to help build the best army list possible but it’s also an exercise in how to collaborate with each other.

FTN Episode 296 – Ultramarines Supplement Tech

Podcast cover
Read more

In the last segment we talk about ‘Counts As’ Space Marine forces.  There seems to be a lot of feel bads around people using attractive rules with armies they don’t feel like are painted the right color.  Is this fair?  What matters most to you?  Is being WYSIWYG enough?

The Hobby Segment is back and about glazing!    A few steps to make the magic happens.

We’re back!   Sorry for missing last week.  In this episode we start of talking about timed Warhammer 40k Tournament games. Then we’re joined by Matthias Weeks from Adeption.  After that we review Warcry and finish out talking Chaos Knights.  It’s a double sized episode.

Hey hey

Part one is about Chess Clocks in 40k.  It’s the way of the future but when the time runs out what happens?  I can tell you – the 7 stages of grief..   We need hard defined rules  but we also need experience and ‘comfort’ using the clock.  Superstar Jim Vesal gives us his perspective after playing all over North America.

Part two Paul sits down with Matthias Weeks from Adpeticon.  The Golden Daemon is coming back to the US!    This is just one of the many exciting things planned for Adpeticon 2020.  Hope you enjoy the segment.

Part three is about Warcry – the hot new Age of Sigmar skirmish game releasing soon from GW.  I tell you..   I’m impressed.  The game has a nice flow to it with easy to get rules and fast paced turns.  My buddy and I breezed through a game and had fun doing it.  Can’t wait to get deeper into this.

Part four we talk Chaos Knight theory.  Jim gives an unsympathetic review of how Chaos Knights fit into current army lists and what you need to take to make them as successful as they can be.  Let us know what you think!

The Wrong Way Kids will be putting on their first official public event later this year the Armageddon Series: Coastal Assault. Tickets are up for sale right now. Please join us. You will have a good time. It will be a full ITC format event and an excellent opportunity to get ITC overall and faction points.

We’re delighted to continue to represent Discount Games Inc as sponsor of our show. They are helping bring FTN to you. Please check them out and support the organizations that support us. Discount Games Inc. offers Games Workshop products at 15% off the suggested retail at their website here. You can send an email to the owner Jay. These guys run a podcast too! Check them out. The hobby segment is about cleaning your resin.. It may not feel like you need to but you almost always do. You can save yourself a lot of time and heartache if do this extra step on the front end.
