Mystic Ink Publishing Voices of the Masters Series - Harlan Ellison - Santa Barbara Writers Conference 1985

Mystic Ink, Publisher of Spiritual, Shamanic, Transcendent Works, and Phantastic Fiction

Harlan Ellison (May 27, 1934 – June 28, 2018) was remembered for his prolific and influential work in New Wave speculative fiction, and for his outspoken, combative personality. Robert Bloch, the author of Psycho, described Ellison as "the only living organism I know whose natural habitat is hot water".His published works include more than 1,700 short stories, novellas, screenplays, comic book scripts, teleplays, essays, and a wide range of criticism covering literature, film, television, and print media. Some of his best-known works include the 1967 Star Trek episode "The City on the Edge of Forever" (he subsequently wrote a book about the experience that includes his original screenplay), his A Boy and His Dog cycle, and his short stories "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" and "'Repent, Harlequin!' Said the Ticktockman". He was also editor and anthologist for Dangerous Visions (1967) and Again, Dangerous Visions (1972). Ellison won numerous awards, including multiple Hugos, Nebulas, and Edgars.

Vulkán, který musí křičet. Hašteřivý klasik sci-fi Harlan Ellison vypráví o zlu v nás i ve světě

Ektoplasma

Mezi klasiky fantastické literatury má Harlan Ellison pozici provokatéra, který nešetří nikoho včetně sebe. Jeho povídky jsou plné morálně problematických postav, groteskně zvrácených společenských systémů a metafyzického zla ovlivňujícího chod lidských dějin.

Episode 1: I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream - Harlan Ellison

Spin A Yarn

Today in the inaugural episode of Spin A Yarn we have one of my personal favorite short stories: I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison. A truly dystopian tale that highlights five humans trapped in the belly of a supercomputer that has wiped out all other life on the planet. It is here, that the supercomputer AM indefinitely tortures Gorrister, Benny, Ellen, Nimdok, and the narrator of the story, Ted.  A hyper-cautionary tale of the dangers of fast learning AI technology.CW: Body dysmorphia, violence, described sexual conduct

I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream (Tribute to Harlan Ellison)

Eddie V's Horror Show

A tribute to the man who inspired me to write horror, even before my discovery of Poe, Lovecraft, and King, the great and fiery Harlan Ellison. A controversial man who stood for his passions and took shit from nobody. A man truly possessed by the Bard Spirit, and a Viking berserker tripping on mushrooms.
