Stephen Hunter is a PhD candidate in the Behavioural Epidemiology Lab at the University of Alberta and a Sessional Instructor at the University of Victoria. Hunter completed his BA in Physical Education from Vancouver Island University, British Columbia in 2012. After graduation, he remained involved with research as a member of the Behavioural Medicine Lab and volunteered with obesity prevention programs for children and adolescents. Stephen came to the University of Alberta in 2014 to pursue his MSc in Kinesiology under the supervision of Dr. Valerie Carson where his thesis focussed on how school policies, recreational programming, public health resources, and physical environments influence adolescent physical activity over time. Now pursuing doctoral studies under the supervision of Dr. Valerie Carson, his research interests include the correlates and determinants of physical activity and sedentary behaviour that are embedded within distal levels of the ecological model; and how these behaviours impact the health of children 0-18 years.Link to YouTube Video

It was carried out by militant Puerto Rican pro-independence activists Oscar Collazo and Griselio Torresola while President Truman resided at Blair House during the renovation of the White House. Both men were stopped before gaining entry to the house. Torresola mortally wounded White House Police officer Leslie Coffelt, who killed him in return fire. Secret Service agents wounded Collazo. Hunting Matters

Stephen Hunter is a New York Times Best Selling author of 20 novels and the retired chief film critic for the Washington Post, where he won the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Distinguished Criticism. In 1968, Hunter Graduated with a degree in Journalism from Medill School at Northwestern. From there, he went on to Military service, becoming one of the guards honored at Arlington National Cemetery. In 1971, using his journalism degree, Hunter became a writer at the Baltimore Sun and was the paper’s first film critic by 1982. From there, he assumed a position with the Washington Post in 1997. Having found his true niche, Hunter became highly successful as a film critic, winning a Pulitzer Prize for his movie criticism and a Distinguished Writing Award with ASNE.Hunter has penned 27 novels, short stories, and novellas. His “Bob Lee Swagger” character has been featured in 11 novels, including “Point of Impact”, which was adapted for film and TV as “Shooter”. Hunter lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
