51. Marty Callner - Legendary Director

HawkeTalk

Sometimes you go searching for a career.  Other times, the career seems to find you. Which is exactly what happened for Marty Callner. Marty is a world renowned television director who has directed some of the biggest names on the planet (Jerry Seinfeld, Cher, and Garth Brooks to name a few) and learned a ton along the way.  Oh, and he also started at HBO when there were 7 employees, and directed nearly every major music video from the 1980’s.  But he didn’t grow up wanting a career in Hollywood. How did that happen then? It involved a three month bender, Nietzsche, and a chance interview at a television station as an out of work 22 year old.  What we talked about How his parent’s divorce tuned his eye towards the artistic. Why a three month bender on psychedelics opened his creative side. Joining HBO in the early stages. How he ended up directing the world’s biggest stars. Living with Will Episode 48 - Marty Callner (Director, Innovator, Legend)

Living With Will

What's goin on y'all, This is an episode I've been most excited to show you for a long time! Marty Callner is one of the most prolific guests we've ever had on the show! From directing musicians and bands like Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Chaka Khan, Cher, Stevie Nicks and more iconic musicians, he also directed comedians from George Carlin to Chris Rock, Will Ferrell, Whoopi Goldberg, Dane Cook, Jerry Seinfeld, and the irreplaceable Robin Williams (just to name a few) and has most recently exploded onto the NFT scene with a wild drop of an Andy Warhol photograph and relationships with some of the worlds most prolific artists. Marty Callner is an inspiration to me, and I am grateful to call him a guest of Living with Will, and a friend. I hope you enjoy this legendary episode. Matter of fact, let me say less. Enjoy the episode and have a fantastic week! Success and Happiness to everyone who reads this and Welcome back to another week of Living with Will!
