Elisa Kurylowicz (IG / Blog) is a former elite skier turned entrepreneur and founder of the blog / podcast, Elisa Unfiltered: Living Life Out Loud.

For 8 years, Elisa was a member of the Canadian Freestyle Mogul Team on the World Cup Tour. For as long as she could remember, her dream was to compete as an Olympian. She spent her youth traveling all over the world to ski, and spent 11 years of her life in hotels.

In 2006, Elisa narrowly missed qualifying for the Olympics, shattering her Olympic dream and identity. This subsequently sent her into depression, picking up some unhealthy habits and gaining 85 pounds in a year.

I’m happy to say this is not where her story ends. Elisa was aware of the dark place she entered, knew she needed help and was determined to change her life.

After developing a bad lifestyle and putting on 85 pounds in a year, Elisa changed her life around with healthy physical, mental, and spiritual habits. Photo courtesy of Elisa Kurylowicz.

Over the following years, with a lot of hard work and other techniques, Elisa turned her life around and started anew. She lost the weight, unlearned beliefs and habits that were not serving her, began to talk to herself in a more loving and worthy way, and not let fear or her comfort zone determine her path.

Elisa founded her blog and podcast, Elisa Unfiltered, where she shares life experiences, challenges faced, and raw, authentic, stories from her journey. She also shares stories of other fascinating people (like Julian DeSchutter from episode 22) to help and connect with people who feel stuck and want to make a shift in their life.

Elisa helps people live their best life and learn how to make good decisions for their unique situation. She believes you don’t need to take over the world, but need to find inner peace within you to make the world yours.

Many times, Elisa has started over at square one, changed her story, and lived in a way aligned with her essence instead of her ego.

Elisa is on a mission to find inner peace while helping others find theirs. Photo courtesy of Elisa Kurylowicz.

Some of the things we talk about include:

  • Elisa’s path to becoming an elite skier for the Canadian freestyle team
  • Narrowly missing the qualifications for the 2006 Olympics and the ensuing dark turn of her life
  • Creating an identity around being a skier and what happened when this was instantly taken away
  • How to develop awareness, consciousness, and discover your true essence
  • Identifying your ego and trying to disassociate from it
  • High-vibration in yourself and other people
