Marvin HAMLISCH: Musicals

Love4musicals

Trabajó con letristas de la talla de Howard Ashman, David Zippel, Richard Holmes o Tim Rice, aunque también trabajó en obras de teatro de Nora Ephron o Neil Simon,Esperamos os guste00h 00'00" Presentación00h 01'00" Cabecera00h 01'46" 1975 A CHORUS LINE00h 02'00" At the ballet00h 09'26" Dance: ten, look: three00h 12'16" The music and the mirror00h 19'02" What I did for love00h 22'32" One00h 27'19” 1978 THE'RE PLAYING OUR SONG00h 27'41" Fallin00h 30'01” If he really knew me / If she really knew me00h 32'48" They’re playing my song00h 36'59” Right00h 40'40” When you’re in my arms00h 44'10" I still believe in love00h 46'33" 1986 SMILE00h 47'17" Typical high school senior00h 56'17" Six O'Clock news00h 59'04" Walking in the sunshine01h 02'26" Any momento now”01h 00'00" Pretty as a picture01h 07'06" 1993 THE GOODBYE GIRL01h 07'22" No more01h 11'11" A beat behind01h 15'39” How can I win01h 19'24” Paula01h 24'12” I think I can play this part01h 28'01” What a guy01h 31'17" 2002 IMAGINARY FRIENDS01h 31'37" Smart women01h 34'47” Fig tree rag01h 37'48” I would but I can’t01h 40'10” Imaginary friend01h 43'36" Will it matter at all01h 46'57” 2002 SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS01h 47'23" Welcome to the night01h 50'43" A different world01h 54'49” Don’t know where you leave off01h 58'51” What if02h 02'03” I cannot hear the city02h 04'06” That’s how I say goodbye02h 06'45” 2012 THE NUTTY PROFESSOR02h 07'06" Step out of your Shell02h 12'46" While I still have the time02h 16'33" 1983 JEAN SEBERG - Dreamers02h 19'21" 2012 BULLETS OVER BROADWAY - Everything you do02h 22'14” 1975 THE ENTERTAINER - The only way to go

Now I've Heard Everything

What comes to mind when I say the name Marvin Hamlisch? You may think of The Sting. Or Tthe Way We Were. Or A Chorus Line. Certainly Hamlisch is known for all of that, but much more. I met him some 28 years ago, when he wrote A memoir of his decades in show business, starting with his early years at Juilliard.

Marvin HAMLISCH: Movies

Love4musicals

Narada Radio Company Audio Drama

Back in 2006-07 I had a gig at KCCT, a Corpus Christi radio station that was an "Air America" affiliate for about a year. I got in good with the program director and learned audio production, gaining some valuable experience, etc., and eventually developing my own weekly show, "ArtScene", showcasing local events in the artistic community. When I learned that composer/performer Marvin Hamlisch was going to be performing with the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra, I was able to gain a telephone interview with him, and I found him to be very friendly, engaging and enthusiastic. Here's the bulk of the interview -- the Symphony's managing director arrived and we chatted for a few minutes but I have eliminated those bits.  The brilliant Mr. Hamlisch passed on in 2012, one of a very small community of artists who have achieved "EGOT": Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards; and one of two people who have achieved EGOT plus Pulitzer. He was an American Treasure and is sorely missed.
