Tamu Thomas: On grief, everyday joy and having a thriving business during the pandemic

Play

Tamu Thomas is a somatic coach, social worker, Mum of one and founder of the Live Three Sixty brand, which encompasses coaching, group memberships and conduits of joy such as the nourish candle. (watch out Gwyneth!)   She is an absolute Powerhouse, a bringer togetherer (is that a word?) of likeminded souls and a connector of women. Her Everyday Joy Membership group is my favourite part of the internet, space for women to be themselves, speak their truth, laugh, sing, dance and cry together. It was an absolute joy to meet one of my Insta heroes, even if it was on Zoom!

Episode 70: Quit Hiding From Your Joy And Appreciating Life’s Micro Moments, With Tamu Thomas

Play
Read more
When you’re so busy being strong and achieving, the richness of life that comes from the ordinary moments can slip by unnoticed. For Tamu Thomas, that busyness turned into increasing anxiety and panic attacks, leading her to realise she was living her life “upside down”, always putting herself last.

Having come from 15 years in social work, she was knowledgeable enough to know things had to change – but how she went about it was not as you might expect.

Tamu is now a trauma-informed somatic and holistic life coach, specialising in supporting women approaching their 40s and beyond to transition into their midlife feeling safe, calm and peaceful.

In this episode of the podcast, Tamu shares deeply about the lessons she’s learned, from experiences as a child, through to her adult career and transition to her business, Three Sixty.

We talk about:
* the shift she felt when she took time to slow down and focus on her everyday joys
* why we’re so used to feeling fear and how to welcome in more joy
* why Tamu chose to educate herself and listen to her body, instead of the prescribed talking therapy approach
* how her experience of grief helped her expand her capacity for joy, and why tending to and befriending your feelings is so important

Tamu Thomas on wellbeing in the workplace

Play
Read more

In this episode, Annie interviews Tamu Thomas, founder of Live Three Sixty wellness brand and JOY expert, on wellbeing in the workplace. They discuss taking time for yourself while running a business - even if you only have a few minutes a day to spare - listening to your body, and respecting your essential needs. Also: working at 80% rather than 100% to avoid burnout, scheduling a staged return to work after time out - and how Beyonce, basically, has all the answers.

Tamu supports women approaching their 40s via her award-winning podcast Three Sixty Conversations, and she runs an excellent membership group. Follow Tamu on Instagram: @livethreesixty, visit her website: livethreesixty.com

#028 - Thriving Instead of Just Surviving with Tamu Thomas

in today’s episode we are chatting to Tamu Thomas, a holistic life coach and former social worker. She specialises in supporting women in the transitional period of their late thirties and forties. Allowing them to flourish through a period that is often met with resistance.    In this episode Tamu shares her journey from working as a social worker for 15 years and moving to create her own wellness business using her skills to help people learn to thrive rather than just survive.   Tamu teaches us what the difference is between surviving and thriving, and how to spot that in our own lives.    She shares how our modern society is set up to keep us in a scarcity mindset that stops us from being who we truly are.   We chat about how we teach boundaries to ourselves and our children.   We discuss how to figure out our true selves, and find where joy really sits for us. We touch on how we’ve learned that joy and happiness and wonder are seen as vulnerable and often deny it to ourselves.   We talk about the body-mind connection and Tamu shares examples of how our mind and lives are manifesting in our body. We discuss body wisdom and how to listen to it.   Tamu shares a bit about what shadow work is and how that can be a source of finding your true joy and sense of self.    Plus, we chat a bit about flow state and it’s importance to our self-care routines.    Show notes: https://elizabethdhokia.com/tamuthomas   #GoodLifeUnravelled

EP 90: Every Day Joy and Self Care Wisdom with Tamu Thomas

Hi lovely,

It’s Selina here 👋 and I am so excited to be sharing today’s episode with you because I got to dive deep into conversation with a woman that I love: Tamu Thomas, founder of Three Sixty.
If you haven’t come across Tamu before then you are in for a treat. She is one of the wisest women I know, the queen of self-care wisdom and she is rapidly becoming known as Dr Joy by all that know her and get to work with her.
Tamu worked tirelessly as a social worker for many years until her own breakdown lead to a breakthrough that set her on the path that she is on today: helping women (particularly Gen X women) to go from surviving to thriving so that they are living from a place of every day joy.
Today she runs magical one-to-one coaching programmes, her incredible ‘Every Day’ membership programme (I’ve been one of the guests and the community is gorgeous), her retreats (which are legendary) - her next one-day retreat is 21st March - and she has a podcast and a vibrant instagram community @livethreesixty
Get more Tamu in your life. You will not regret it! Starting with this episode :)
Join us as we talk about joy, burn out, real self care, living 360 degrees, motherhood without martyrdom and a whole lot more.
Tamu’s lyrical way of speaking is like a soothing and hypnotic balm, so get ready to flow amongst her dulcet tones and wisdom...and en-JOY.
X Selina
