S4 Ep1: Dennis Rader, The BTK Killer

What Makes a Killer

From 1974-1991, the city of Wichita, Kansas was gripped with fear as a violent serial killer was on the loose. The killer, known to the public by his alias BTK, was an unassuming family-man named Dennis Rader. He would attack people in their own homes before binding, torturing and ultimately killing them, seemingly for self gratification. BTK came in and out of the shadows for 30 years, taunting investigators with miniscule clues. But in a moment of overconfidence, he was finally thrown into the light. S5 Ep10: The BTK Killer - Dennis Rader

I Could Murder A Podcast

This week, the ICMAP Boys explore the chilling case of Dennis Rader, also known as ‘BTK’ and ‘The BTK Killer’, (an abbreviation he gave himself for “Bind, Torture, Kill”). Rader brutally claimed ten victims throughout the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s - during which time, he sent a series of taunting letters to the police and local newspapers before seemingly vanishing from the public eye. In 2004, Rader resumed his letters after he read an article discussing the BTK murders and the killer’s potential whereabouts. Which would lead to an unbelievable series of events that resulted in Rader’s 2005 arrest… How was Rader able to evade any possible detection for four decades? Could his actions be blamed on two significant incidents during his early childhood? Why did Rader take clothing and belongings from several of his victims? And what was the unbelievable error on Rader’s part that resulted in his capture? Tune in and all will be revealed! BTK: Dennis Rader

Give Us Morgue

This week Niamh tells us about BTK, Dennis Lynn Rader. A heavy warning comes with this episode as this man is absolutely vile, and committed some of the most horrific crimes we have covered on this show. Between 1974 and 1991, Rader killed ten people in Wichita and Park City, Kansas. However, thanks to his own stupidity, this bridge troll was caught and was sentenced to 10 life sentences in 2005.
