In this frank and honest episode, author, podcaster, journalist, radio presenter and flexible working campaigner Anna Whitehouse, (Mother Pukka) writers to her friend Natalie Lee, better known to many as Style Me Sunday, a former midwife turned fashion blogger. Anna and Natalie met in 2015, first connected by their work. But over the following years their mutual professional admiration for each other turned into a candid friendship in which they have supported one another through their hardest times. Two years ago, before Anna was diagnosed with post natal depression following the birth of her second child, it was Natalie that - in Anna’s words - saved her life, who managed to cut through her depression, take her hand and help her find a way out when she felt like she was drowning. In return, Natalie has been on her own journey of self-discovery, of sharing her own vulnerability and challenges, thanks to her friendship with Anna.Warning: this episode contains strong language and candid conversations on post natal depression. I’m saaaah honoured and excited to share the 9th Women Who Birth with the beautiful and incredible creator or Style Me Sunday - Natalie Lee! She is a pure and raw example of a woman who creates space for herself, and other women to be truly in their power. She is a big advocate of encouraging women to feel comfortable in their skin and likes to stick a middle finger up to society's standards and norms, which I just adore!!! We talk about: - creation - her two human babies, and Style Me Sunday, her third - ADHD & transitioning through life with it- her creative process- moving through the shadows and dark side that creeps up when creating and sharing one’s voice- how we can change our ways to stop apologising, creating disclaimers, and say what we want and mean (including no!) And so much bloody more!!! Please share this convo with someone who will enjoy and, perhaps, needs to join our pact and ditch the disclaimers and ask for what they need! Lots of love, Nicola Your host - Nicola Cloherty I am Nicola Cloherty, and in a nutshell, amongst other things, I give a f**k about women birthing things - and not just humans. I coach women to reconnect inward, remember who they are and reclaim their power.https://nicolacloherty.com/ https://www.instagram.com/nicolacloherty Natalie Lee https://www.stylemesunday.com/ https://www.instagram.com/stylemesunday/

Natalie Lee on the Business of Fashion and Blogging
The Culture is Black
This week’s episode is all about the changing face of fashion and how 2020 has pushed the industry to be more inclusive, accessible and digital. We caught up with fashion blogger and influencer Natalie Lee (@stylemesunday) to talk about the evolution of the fashion industry, how bloggers and the rise of social media originally pushed fashion to be more inclusive, and how this year is forcing fashion to make even more of an effort to open up seats at the table. We spoke about building a Black business pre and post pandemic, specifically the importance of understanding your worth and value. And finally, we got her thoughts on the rise of Black Pound Day and the need to speak about the influencer pay gap! #277 OLIVE series: Natalie Lee on Motherhood & Me Time (#4)
Ctrl Alt Delete
Hello and welcome to this special OLIVE mini series — all around the topic of my debut novel OLIVE which is out TODAY! In lieu of a launch party, I’ve decided to release this 4-part series on 4 different women’s varying experiences and attitudes towards motherhood, based on the topics within the book. The novel centres around Olive and her three best friends, Bea, Cecily and Isla. Bea is a mum of 3 who loves her busy chaotic home, Cecily is newly pregnant feeling apprehensive and excited, Isla is struggling with her fertility and undergoing IVF treatment. Olive knows that having children is not for her and recently broke up with her longterm boyfriend because he wanted to try for a baby and she didn’t — and this book explores the obstacle course of adulthood, navigating key life milestones, and how their friendships grow and change as they each figure out their own paths.Natalie Lee is a fashion blogger, former midwife and body positivity advocate. In this episode we talk about getting creative during maternity leave, how friendships can change & grow, how to set boundaries and having time for yourself.Follow Natalie on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/stylemesunday/?hl=enThanks for listening and you can now buy OLIVE from your favourite retailer.Waterstones: https://www.waterstones.com/book/olive/emma-gannon/9780008382728Hive: https://www.hive.co.uk/Product/Emma-Gannon/Olive/24224499Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Olive-Emma-Gannon/dp/0008382727/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1570034665&sr=1-5&tag=smarturl-gb-21See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
