A Geek Leader Podcast - inspiring technical and creative leaders around the world

About KenKen Falke spent twenty-one years in the US Navy as a bomb disposal specialist, leading troops on thousands of high-risk missions. After retiring from the Navy in 2002, Ken started his first company, A-T Solutions, a counter-terrorism company, and in 2008 sold the business. In 2011, Ken started his second company, Shoulder 2 Shoulder, and sold his stock to his business partner in 2017. In addition to Ken’s two for-profit companies, he founded two nonprofit organizations, beginning with the EOD Warrior Foundation to support the families of severely wounded military bomb disposal personnel. This work inspired Ken and his family to donate thirty-seven acres of their estate in Bluemont, Virginia, and millions of dollars to build Boulder Crest Foundation in 2013—the nation’s first privately funded wellness center dedicated exclusively to combat veterans, first responders, and their families—and go on to establish Boulder Crest Arizona and the Boulder Crest Institute for Post-traumatic Growth in 2017.Today We Talked About Ken's military career Life after the Navy EOD Warrior Boulder Crest Foundation Work on yourself first Opportunity to contribute opportunity to grow 70% of people hate their jobs Listen well... best gift you can give Feedback loop Trust and Connection Say what you mean, mean what you say, but don't say it meanly Attack the issues, not the people Accountability Show up everyday Life and Death jobsConnect with Ken LinkedIn Book Twitter EOD Warrior Boulder Crest FoundationI’ve been using A2 Hosting for several years.  They offer state of the art SSD hosting for all of their plans.  Their sites are super fast and easy to setup.  I rarely need support, but when I was migrating my sites to a larger plan I used their support services and they were phenomenal.  I highly recommend A2 hosting for all of your hosting needs.  And I also recommend everyone to have a personal website. Ken Falke and Josh Goldberg – Challenging Mental Health Systems, Climbing the Wrong Ladder, and How You Can Thrive After Trauma

The Zen Veteran Podcast

Hello everyone, welcome to Episode #29 of the “Spotlight Podcast: Success Stories for Veterans” where it is our job to breakdown and analyze Titans in both the military and civilian communities to discover their tactics, mindset, and systems so that you can apply them to your life, and your transition. Those titans range from NYT best-selling authors to former heads of state, to other divergent thinkers who dominate their field by challenging conventional wisdom. Today we are interviewing Ken Falke and Josh Goldberg. I discovered Ken and Josh through their incredible book Struggle Well: Thriving in the Aftermath of Trauma. Ken, after leaving his bomb disposal unit in the Navy, became a serial entrepreneur and is now the Chairman at the Boulder Crest Foundation. Josh, on the other hand, comes from the civilian world. After 10 years spent climbing to the top of the corporate ladder, Josh knew he needed to make a change. Josh is now the Executive Director of Boulder Crest Foundation and doing work he wants to continue for the rest of his life. Both Ken and Josh spend their time working on the Warrior PATHH program to take it nationwide while continuing to develop the Struggle Well Online Training Program. So how do Ken and Josh do it? Listen and find out.
