3rd & Nerd: Talking Killmonger and Titans with Bryan Edward Hill
3rd & Nerd
3rd and Nerd is the place where pop culture/nerd culture and sports meet! Join Josh Webb and Adam Howes for an all-new episode of 3rd and Nerd. On this week's 3rd & Nerd, our Josh Webb sat down and talked with Bryan Edward Hill, author of Marvel's 'Killmonger' and a writer for DCEU's 'Titans' on the new DC streaming service. In addition to those books, Hill has authored 'Spider-Man Annual #1,' 'Totally Awesome Hulk' and 'What If? X-Men 1' to name a few. Bryan talked with Josh about the evolution of these books, what it was like to write them, and how he wrote about himself while authoring these characters. The guys also break down the movie HEAT because Bryan loves the film and Josh doesn't get why people love it. Thanks to Bryan for spending his valuable time with us. As always, a big thanks to Scott Johnston for producing the show. Enjoy and thanks for not passing on 3rd & Nerd!
3. Bryan Edward Hill (TITANS, Fallen Angels, Batman & the Outsiders)
Bryan Edward Hill is a man of many talents. He writes comic books, TV and films. Along with writing, Hill has experience in photography, graphic design and music production. In this episode, Shah Emami and Bryan talk about comic books like Fallen Angels (Marvel) and how these mutants feel like outsiders in the paradise of Krakoa. They also talk about Batman and the Outsiders and Hill’s work as a writer on DCU’s TITANS (confirmed for a third season). Other comics Bryan has worked on are Angel, American Carnage, Killmonger and Detective Comics. The pros and cons of social media, confirmation bias and the importance of music in creativity are covered. It’s a multi-faceted, honest conversation I really enjoyed having with a smart creator.
