This week, Dr. Jason Powers is joined by George Youngblood, LCDC, ADCIII, CCS. George is the Chief Executive Officer at Teen and Family Services and the founding Board Chairman of the Association of Alternative Peer Groups. He has been successfully counseling adolescents and families for over twenty years and will celebrate 30 years of uninterrupted sobriety.    George has provided training for the staff of several local school districts, including Spring Branch ISD, Katy ISD, and Houston ISD. He has provided outcome research for Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas Health Science Center. He has also been a guest lecturer at Case Western, University of Texas, Texas Tech, and St. Thomas Universities.    George has had frequent appearances with local media to educate the community on issues related to substance abuse and other addictive behaviors. He has also trained hundreds of counselors and other mental health professionals on adolescent-specific counseling approaches. George received the 2012 Addiction Professional of the Year and Member of the Year awards from the Houston Chapter of the National Association of Addiction Professionals in 2013.
