This week we chat with Gabe Jenkins, the Acting Director of Information and Education for the KY Dept. of Fish & Wildlife. It's a long title, but all you need to know is he's the elk guy in Kentucky. Gabe walks us through the whole process from finding the right area of the state for elk habitat to how they transported this 1000 pound animals in there and everything in between. He talks about the economic impact the program has had on this rural region of Kentucky and how the tag system works .
