Episode 78 Dr. Michael Eades, NY Times Best Selling Author and Pioneer Of Low Carb Eating

The Jason Wright Show

Michael R. Eades was born in Springfield, Missouri on June 19, 1947. He received his BSCE degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic University (Cal Poly), Pamona, California in 1970 and his MD from the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences (UAMS) in 1979. After completing training in General Surgery as UAMS, Dr. Eades (along with his wife) founded Medi-Stat Medical Clinics, a chain of general family medicine outpatient care centers in central Arkansas, where he practiced general family medicine for over a decade. In 1989, Dr. Eades wrote Thin So Fast (Warner Books), a health and nutrition book detailing how to safely undertake a modified protein sparing fast (such as Oprah Winfrey had used to lose her famous 67 pounds of fat) at home, with minimal expense. This is a great episode where we cover COVID, accessing the risk of taking the vaccine and a host of other topics. NOTE: Neither I nor Dr. Eades are making any suggestions as to whether or not one should take the COVID vaccine. I’m trying to help listeners assess all the data by asking Dr. Eades some questions. Dr. Eades has spent his career working in the life sciences so I wanted his take. Please consider signing up for his newsletter “The Arrow” at ProteinPower.ComThanks for listening!Jason

Nashville’s Other Music Scene feat. Michael Eades

Nashville Demystified

Michael Eades is the creator of the network that hosts us, and the host of a podcast of the same name. Michael’s show serves as an introduction to all sorts of music that touches or has roots in this city. In todayâ€s episode, we talk music, Nashville, podcasts and how this network came to be. I met Michael through a friend of a friend who had heard I was moving to the city and told me I absolutely had to meet him. I am glad I did, because Michael–who is very clearly interested in the city and devoted to its music–was extraordinarily generous with his time and when I told him on the spot that I had a podcast to pitch he was all ears. Really, I canâ€t say enough good about Michael, this network of podcasts, and the crew of folks who make it all a reality. Iâ€ve had the good fortune to hand and spend time with these folks and they have certainly made this new guy feel welcome. Nashville Demystified, I should tell you, is brought to you by Knack Factory–a commercial video and content production company with offices here in the city and We Own This Town. Knack Factory is a commercial video and content production firm in Nashville. We Own This Town is a collective of podcasters based in Nashville. Amy Alkon's HumanLab: The Science Between Us

Welcome to Amy Alkon's HumanLab: The Science Between Us, interviewing the luminaries of behavioral science.Low-carb pioneers Dr. Michael Eades and Dr. Mary Dan Eades are my guests this week. Since the 1980s, they have been behind evidence-based ways to eat, and have helped thousands and thousands of people drop pounds without starving themselves. They have long understood that it is carbohydrates -- sugar, flour, starchy vegetables like potatoes, apple juice -- that cause the insulin secretion that puts on fat.  On the show, we'll talk about how to maintain a way of eating, and debunk a lot of widely held myths about diet -- myths many doctors still cling to. Buy their books at Amazon at this link.Join me and all my fascinating guests every Sun, 7-8 p.m. PT, 10-11 p.m. ET, at blogtalkradio.com/amyalkon or subscribe on iTunes or Stitcher. Please support the show by buying my "science-help" book, "Unf*ckology: A Field Guide to Living with Guts and Confidence."
